Important safety information

  1. Keep the product and all its parts out of reach of small children.
  2. Do NOT leave it in high temperatures as electronic devices and  plastic parts may warp in heat. No naked flame sources, such as  lighted candles, should be placed on the product.
  3. Do NOT leave it in low temperatures as moisture can form inside the  product, which may damage the circuit board.
  4. Do NOT attempt to open the product. This product does not contain  any user serviceable parts. Unauthorised handling of the device may  damage it and will void your warranty.
  5. Disconnect your Radio from the mains power supply during  thunderstorms.
  6. Always check that you have completely switched off your Radio,  before you change or disconnect the power supply.
  7. If the Radio will not be used for a long period of time, make sure  that the mains power is unplugged.
  8. Never throw batteries in a fire or attempt to open the outer casing.  Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine,  fire or the like. Dispose of old batteries carefully.
  9. Batteries are harmful if swallowed, so keep away from young  children.

Caution: Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. .

Warning: To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen to this radio using earphones at high volume levels for long periods of time.

Overview

OPERATION

POWER ON/OFF

Press the “ POWER ” button to turn on you will be greeted by Welcome to Digital Radio followed by “ Time is not set ”. To switch off Press the “ POWER ” button for over 3 second to turn off fully.

TIME AND DATE SETTING

You can set the Date and Time automatically by pressing the “ POWER button again following the “ Time is not set ” message which will start a scan for available Dab stations and setting the Date and Time.

ADJUST THE VOLUME

Press V+ or V- to increase or decrease volume.

MODE SELECTION

P ress “ MODE ” button repeatedly to select between DAB+/FM/ Bluetooth.

SCAN FOR STATIONS DAB FM

Select Mode DAB or FM then press the scan button. If this is the first time you have used the GV-DR05, or if the station list  is empty, the radio automatically performs a full scan to see what  stations are available. You may also need to start a scan manually to update the list of stations for one of the following reasons:

  • New stations may become available from time to time.
  • Stations that are closed or are no longer available (In the station list,  invalid stations are indicated with a question mark in front of their  name).
  • If the reception was poor from the original scan (for example the  antenna was not up), this may result in an empty or incomplete list of  available stations.
  • If you have poor reception for some stations this may cause the  audio to break up, you may wish to list only stations with a good  signal strength

Once a scan is completed, the radio returns to playing the previously selected station or a station on the station list.

Note: if no radio station is found, it shows No DAB Station. For a better reception, extend the antenna or do the full scan again in  another place.

SELECT STATIONS

In DAB or FM mode, press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to scroll through the list of stations. Stop at your preferred station, then press “ OK ” It will be tuned  automatically within a second.

Note: During the search, operation of the sound level will be  muted

PRESETS FOR DAB+ and FM (Storing favourites)

In DAB or FM Mode, Simply scroll through the station list by pressing “ P- ” or “ P+ ” Keys, and then Press OK to tune to the station then press “ FAV ” for over 3 seconds then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” Keys to look for an empty location or to overwrite an existing stored station then press OK save to that location, Each mode can store up to 30 stations. Save your favourite 4 four stations to positions P1-P4 then use the  buttons on the top of the Radio for easy access.

RECALLING A PRESET STATION DAB+ or FM

Choose the correct Mode DAB or FM Press the “ FAV ” setting button then scroll through the station list by pressing “ P- ” or “ P+ ” Keys then  press OK to play.

DAB MENU OPTIONS

Whilst in DAB mode Press the Menu button to Access.

Press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to select through the menu list, press the “ OK ”  button for your preferred option, it will start the function automatically  within a second.

The menu options are:

  • Full scan
  • Manual tune
  • DRC
  • Prune
  • TA
  • System 05

FULL SCAN

Press “ SCAN” Button to start scanning. Once a scan is completed, the radio returns to playing the previously selected station or station on the station list. Full scan can also be chosen from menu.

MANUAL TUNE MAN

Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to find “ Manual tune ” in the  menu list, then press “ OK ” to select. Then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to select a  particular channel/frequency then OK to play.

DRC (Dynamic range compression)

This function This function reduces the difference between the loudest and quietest audio being broadcast. Effectively, this makes quiet sounds comparatively louder, and loud sounds comparatively quieter Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to find “ DRC ” in the menu list,  then press “ OK ” to select.

PRUNE

Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- “or “ P+ ” to scroll to PRUNE then press OK (this removes all the stations that are listed but unavailable) all invalid  stations indicated in the station list those with an a ‘ ? ‘ in front of the  station name. Under the setting press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose < YES> then press “ OK ” to confirm removal of all invalid stations or NO ” to leave it will automatically start the process after 3 seconds.

TRAFFIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to find “ TA ” in the menu list: then  press OK to switch to OFF or ON

SYSTEM

Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to find “ SYSTEM ” in the menu list then press OK to select from the following options.

  • Sleep Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose between  OFF, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes press OK to select
  • Time Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to scroll options to Set Time/Date press OK then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to set Hours then  Minutes. To Auto Update Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to  scroll options Update from Any, Update from Dab, update from FM or none, to Set to 12/24 Hour press OK then “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to scroll options 12hr or 24hr to Set Date Format Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to scroll options either MM-DD-YEAR or DD-MM-Year then press OK .
  • Backlight Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose On  level “Low Medium or High” press OK to select then choose Dim level  “Low Medium or High” press OK to select then choose Timeout and choose between 10 and up to 180 seconds press OK to select
  • Language Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose  between English ,German, Italian and French press OK to select
  • Factory Reset Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose  between YES/NO
  • Software Version For info only
    Press Menu to return to System Menu

ALARM SETTING

  • Press “ ALARM 1 ” or “ ALARM 2 ” button to reach settings
  • Then Press the “ OK ” button
  • Press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to set the hour “ hh ”, press OK to confirm
  • Press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to set the minutes “ mm ”, press OK to  confirm.

Choose the Duration Time by using the “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to select  from 15, 30, 45,60 to 90 minutes.

Choose the Alarm Source by using the “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to select  between Buzzer, DAB or FM. Press “ OK ” button to confirm.

Choose the Alarm Occur Choose the Alarm Occurrence. by using the “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to  select between Daily, Once, Weekend, or Weekday

Choose the Alarm Volume. by using the “ V- ” or “ V+ ” buttons to select  the volume will ascend to your selected level.

Choose the Alarm ON/OFF . by using the “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to select.

SNOOZE

When the alarm sounds, press the “ OK ” button to keep Snoozing another 9 minutes.

STOP ALARMS

When the alarm sounds, press the “ POWER ” or Alarm button to stop.

NOTE: There is a re-set hole between the earphone and USB  port, reset the device directly here if the device occasionally  crashes.

FM MENU OPTIONS

Whilst in FM mode Press the Menu button to Access

Press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to select through the menu list, press the “ OK ”  button for your preferred option, it will start the function automatically  within a second. The menu options are

  • Scan setting
  • System

FM SCAN SETTINGS

By default, FM scans stop at any available station (All stations). This  may result in poor quality audio from weak stations. Options: All  stations / Strong stations only. Press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” then press “ OK ” to  select a particular option in scan settings.

FM SYSTEM

Press “ MENU ” and press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to find “ SYSTEM ” in the menu list then press OK to select the following options are now available to you.

  • Sleep Press OK to enter then press “ P- ” or “ P+ ” to choose between  OFF, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes press OK to select

DAB INFO

You can view further information when the unit is working under DAB Ymode. Press “ INFO ” Button repeatedly and you can have options including:

  • DLS (Dynamic Label Segment – short text information broadcast with DAB audio).

PTY (Programme Type)

  • Frequency
  • Signal
  • Signal Strength
  • Signal Quality
  • Time
  • Date
  • Ensemble

FM INFO

You can view further information when the unit is working under FM mode. Press INFO Button repeatedly and you can have options including:

RADIO TEXT

  • PTY (Programme Type)
  • Frequency
  • Time
  • Date

EARPHONES

  • Listening to loud sounds for prolonged periods of time may  permanently damage your hearing.
  • __ Before putting on earphones, turn the volume down then put the  earphones on and slowly increase the volume until you reach a  comfortable listening level.

BLUETOOTH MODE

Press the mode button to go to Bluetooth mode.

CONNECTING BLUETOOTH

In Bluetooth Mode, Turn on the Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth In Blu enabled device and look for “ GV-DR05 ” and pair. After it’s successfully connected, adjust the volume on your audio device to the desired volume level, or press the V+ or V- buttons on the radio.

Press the “ Scan ” button to Pause and Play

__ Double Press the “ P- ” or “ P+ ” buttons to select Previous or Next Track.

Press the Info/Pair button to show date/time/status information To disconnect/connect Bluetooth whilst in Bluetooth mode press the info/Pair button and scroll to the current status then Long Press the info/Pair button to disconnect/connect.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

No Power?

The Power switch is set to OFF, Set the Power switch to the ON  Battery is flat, Recharge the battery or use mains power

Station not found

Weak signal Station not available in your area Use the manual tune function.

The display is blank

This may occur if the broadcaster changes the label of a service or  removes a label while tuned. The unit will try re-tune. If not, perform a  new scan.

Noise on some Noise on some stations

Battery power is low weak signal Recharge the battery or use mains  power. Try re-positioning the antenna.

No sound

Volume may be set to minimum, Increase the volume.

Subject to the conditions stated below, Groov-e guarantees this Subject equipment against defects in workmanship or materials of its  mechanical and electronic component parts (excluding styling,  battery cells, magnetic tapes, re-chargeable batteries, user  removeable memory devices, with the exception where the battery  is inbuilt into the product) for a period of one year from the date of  purchase. This product will be repaired or if necessary replaced free  of charge if it has been proven to be defective within the one year warranty period.

1) Claims under this guarantee should be made through the authorised dealer/retailer from whom the equipment was purchased. If this is not possible, please contact Groov-e directly.

2) This guarantee is only valid when the equipment is purchased and retained within the United Kingdom and a valid proof of purchase has been provided.

3) This Guarantee Excludes:

(i) All damage caused through accident, misuse, wear and tear, neglect, installation and/or use in a manner inconsistent with technical and safety  standards.

(ii) Alterations or adjustments made to equipment

_ ** (iii)_** Loss of data resultant from malfunction of hard drive or other storage device

_ ** (iv)_** Damage caused to any third party device as a result of using the product.

__ 4) No liability under this guarantee shall be incurred:

_ ** (i)_** In respect of damage or loss occurring during transit to or from the purchaser

5) Groov-e shall not be liable for consequential damage, loss or injury arising from or in connection with the equipment, excepting only that nothing in this condition shall or shall be construed so as to exclude or restrict liability for negligence.

6) The cost of carriage to and from Groov-e shall be borne by the purchaser.

8) If the equipment, in respect of which a claim hereunder is made, is found on examination to comply with the published specifications, a test fee may  be incurred.

This guarantee is in addition to and does not in any way affect any statutory or other right of consumer purchasers, including those  rights in relation to sections 13 to 15 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979,  the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumer Regulations 2002, The  Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Sale of Goods and Supply of  Services Act 1980 (for ROI).
