GUARDIAN G1-400BDX Bariatric Drop Arm Commode Chair
General Warnings
To ensure the safe assembly and operation of the commode, these instructions must be followed. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY TO THE USER OR DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT. If you are unable to understand these warnings, cautions and/or instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer or Medline before attempting to use this product.
- DO NOT assemble and use this product without first reading and understanding this user guide, otherwise injury or damage may occur.
- DO NOT use if components are missing or are damaged. Contact Medline at 1-800-MEDLINE (633-5463) | 1-800-268-2848.
- DO NOT exceed a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs (453 kg).
- DO NOT make any adjustments while using the product.
- DO NOT attempt to use the arms to support full body weight.
Cautions
Users with limited physical strength and/or mobility should be supervised
and/or assisted while using the product.
Prior to use, ensure the following;

Toilet seat must be in the down position before use. Failure to do so may result in possible injury or damage.

The height adjustment push buttons fully protrude through the same respective hole of each leg exten-sion.
There are no loose, broken, or missing components, and ensure all parts are secure. -
When using the backrest, ensure the commode remains balanced.

Excessive twisting or turning while seated on the commode may cause a loss of balance and/or damage to the product.

All four legs touch the floor simultaneously at all times.

User evenly distributes weight between the arm supports when transferring in and out of the com-mode.

Armrests are dry.
Assembly
The frame is shipped partially assembled. If exposed to cold temperatures, allow contents to come to room temperature before completing assembly. Remove contents from box, making sure you have all parts.
- Align the toilet seat clamps onto the back frame rail. (Both clamps should sit outside the pail brackets.) Push down on seat until clamps snap firmly into place.
- Slide pail in from the front of commode.
Adjusting leg height
- Before use, adjust height of each leg to your specific needs, making sure all legs are at the same height. When desired height is reached, lock legs into place by aligning buttons into proper holes, per Figure 2.
- Check that the legs are locked into place by pushing down and pulling up on each leg.
NOTE: If any part or mechanism appears to be unsafe or damaged, DO NOT USE.
Maintenance
Periodic visual inspection of this product is recommended to ensure that all parts and hardware are secure, that components are in good working order and not cracked, broken or fractured, and that there are no obstructions or impediments to normal, safe operation. Cleaning
- Clean with regular household cleaning products. Use a non-abrasive cleaner with warm water. Wipe dry after cleaning.
- DO NOT use abrasive powders, cleaners or scouring pads.

This warranty does not cover device failure due to owner misuse or negligence, or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend to non-durable components, such as tip accessories, casters and grips, which are subject to normal wear and replacement.
