Do you need to have wifi in the home for this to work or is a LAN phone line okay?
We purchased the Active Guardian, which died not need wifi. It’s basically a tiny cell phone that can only call one number. But it is GPS enabled, so when mom is out running around town, if something were to happen and she didn’t know where she was, the operator can send what help she needs right to her location. It uses a cell phone signal instead of wifi or land line.
Will the call center contact a family member or do they just call EMS?

So In order to use the necklace I have to pay a monthly fee or it will in otherwise be useless and won’t work if used ?
You can pay annually. It’s not too much. I think about a year. Given the safety and security it can give me, that’s worth every penny. I have the GPS one that I can take anywhere with me. And it’s comforting to be able to wear the necklace when I walk down to get my mail. I was so surprised how easy this was to set up and to use. It’s really terrific.
