PERSONS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: To guard against injury, basic safety precautions should be observed, including the following:
-
READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS and all the important notices on the appliance before using the pump.
Failure to do so may result in damage to this appliance. -
DANGER – To avoid possible electrical shock, special care should be taken since water is employed in the use of this product.
For each of the following situations, do not attempt repairs yourself; return the pump to an authorized service facility for service if it is still under warranty or discard the appliance.
A. If the pump shows any sign of abnormal water leakage, disconnect the power supply cord and remove pump from water.
B. Carefully examine the appliance after installation. It should not be plugged in if there is water on parts not intended to be wet.
C. Do not operate the appliance if it has a damaged electrical cord or plug, or if it is malfunctioning or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Never cut the cord.
D. The electrical outlet should always be above the level of the appliance.
If the plug or outlet does get wet, DO NOT unplug the electrical cord.
Disconnect the fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the appliance, then unplug and examine for presence of water in the outlet. -
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with significantly impaired physical or mental capabilities, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should always be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

USAGE
Cats can be picky drinkers, some prefer large water surfaces over vertical
streams and vice-versa. The Catit® PIXI™ Smart Fountain provides your cat with
a continuous indoor source of fresh, clean water and allows different water
flow settings to encourage your pet to drink more. Drinking more water helps
ensure proper kidney function, helping to prevent crystal formation that can
lead to urinary diseases.
To prevent limescale deposits and to keep the stainless steel cover in top
shape, it’s recommended to clean the stainless steel cover in the dishwasher
regularly (e.g. once or twice a week, at first signs of limescale deposits).
The pump is equipped with a sensor that detects when the water level inside of
the reservoir is too low. At that point, the fountain will shut down
automatically, to prevent the pump from running dry. Once the water reservoir
is refilled, the fountain will start running again.
INSTALLATION
Take the unit out of the packaging. Remove the fountain top. Connect the pump
to the pump plug, aligning the prongs and ridge to the openings, and screw the
safety cap on. Position the pump to the side. Never disconnect the pump plug
when there is water in the reservoir. Clean the fountain before use to
remove any dirt or debris.
Wash the complete unit (excluding the filter) with a sponge. Do not use
abrasive cleansers or materials on any part of the unit. Rinse thoroughly. The
fountain top and stainless steel cover can be separated for cleaning (caution:
steel edges may be sharp). These two parts are dishwasher-safe, whereas the
fountain body is not. Take the filter cartridge out of the polybag. Rinse the
filter to remove excess dust and soak it completely. Disconnect the filter tray from the fountain
top.Insert the
filter cartridge into the filter tray with packets facing down. Press down on
the cotton of the filter so it is tucked underneath the plastic in
center.Re-attach the
filter tray to the fountain top.Attach the pump to the fountain top with the silicone tube,
aligning the pump LEDs with the fountain front. Make sure the pump is
level.Lower the
fountain top onto the reservoir with indentation facing forward.Assemble the stainless steel cover.
Fill the
fountain with water. The water level can be seen through the transparent
window on the front of the reservoir. Do not overfill the fountain.(Optional)
Insert the spout accessory into the opening on the fountain top to create a
water spout for your cat to drink from. Point the spout in the preferred
direction. Press down firmly to attach, and pull up to remove. Attach the power cord to the USB
adapter, and plug it into the wall socket. Secure excess power cord with a tie
wrap and place it behind the fountain to avoid pet chewing and entanglement.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always unplug or disconnect the pump from the electrical supply
with dry hands before putting on or taking off parts and whenever the pump is
being installed, maintained or handled. Wash and rinse fountain with a soft
sponge and a non-abrasive cleanser. Rinse thoroughly, ensuring no soapy
residue. Remove the filter from the base and rinse. Do not wash the filter
with soap. If filter contains excess debris or other foreign matter, replace
it (replacement filters sold separately). The filter should be replaced every
3-4 weeks or when there are visible signs that the filter is saturated with
foreign matter (debris, food, hair, etc.) or if the water flow is impeded.
More frequent changes may be necessary due to indoor environmental and water
conditions, as well as multiple pet use.
Should pump appear dirty, open pump and remove impeller cap and impeller (see
illustrations on page 43). Remove any debris from the impeller and clean
impeller well with running water. Handle impeller with care. If the pump makes
noise, clean the pump and top up the water level in the fountain reservoir so
the pump is fully submerged. DO NOT ALLOW THE PUMP TO RUN DRY. Detach the
pump from the fountain reservoir by twisting the cap and disconnecting the
cable.
Never connect or disconnect the pump plug when there is water in the
reservoir. Open the pump,
remove the impeller cap and impeller. Rinse each part with water, removing any hairs or debris from
the impeller and pump housing, before carefully reassembling.
