USING ENVIRONMENT

Your heater consumes oxygen while it is in use. For that reason, adequate ventilation should be provided in areas in which the heater is used. This ensures the removal of products of combustion and allows the entry of replacement air.
Adequate ventilation should considerably reduce the possibility of condensation occurring. The following table shows the smallest sizes of room suitable for each heat setting and the Ventilation which should be provided.
FOR INFRARED MODELS:

Number of Radiants Continuously IN USE| ROOM SIZE| VENTILATION
---|---|---
Low Level| High Level

Lighting instructions

The heater must only be used when:
The heater is mounted in its stand. The regulator supplied must be securely fitted to the gas hose supplied using one of the screwed clips supplied and the gas hose must also be securely fitted to the hose outlet of the gas valve on the heater with one of the screwded clips supplied The heater must be placed on flat level ground with the heater radiant element facing away from the cylinder with the hose trailing at the rear of the appliance. The heater must never be used separated from its stand unit.
Connect the regulator to the gas cylinder valve following the instructions supplied with the regulator to ensure correct connection tighten with a correctly fitting wrench.
Turn on the cylinder valve and check for leakage on the regulator to gas cylinder connection, the gas hose to gas regulator connection and the gas hose to the heater valve connection with soapy water or leak detection fluid. If bubbles are showing the connection has a leak. Turn off the cylinder valve and retighten the connections. If a gas leak is still present after a second gas leak check consult your gas supplier.
If the heater is sound turn on the gas at the cylinder valve . Position the control knob so that the orientation dot is at a 6 O’clock position and depress fully. It will take at least 90 seconds to purge the air from the gas hose before gas starts to appear at the pilot assembly. During this period repeatedly press the piezo ignitor button on the back of the heater until the pilot flame ignites. When the pilot flame is alight continue to hold the control knob down to warm the thermocouple probe. If the pilot flame fails to remain alight, repeat the process until the pilot flame holds. To fully ignite the heater then slightly depress the control knob with the orientation dot at the 6 O’Clock position and make a full quarter turn anti clockwise. Both heater plaques will now ignite. THIS HEATER IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. THERE IS ONLY ONE SETTING.
REPLACING AN EMPTY CYLINDER

  1. Cylinders must be replaced in a non-flammable and non-smoking environment.
  2. When you need to replace your empty cylinder, turn the gas off first.
  3. Unscrew the regulator from the Valve of the cylinder and take the empty cylinder away from the heater.
  4. Make sure that the heater is extinguished completely before you change the cylinder.

IMPORTANT

  1. It is important that all gas connections have been correctly made to prevent any leakage. Never use a match for gas leakage check. Use soapy solution or gas leak detection spray to check leakage..
  2. Use your cylinder always in upright position. Using the cylinders in horizontally layed down position will damage your heater and create serious safety conditions.
  3. If a newly-filled cylinder is used, ignition might impair as there may be some inert gas present in the cylinder. In this case, change the cylinder with another one which is partially used.
  4. This appliance requires a hose and a regulator. Please seek advice from your gas and regulator supplier so as to use correct hose.
  5. The guard on the appliance is to prevent risk of fire or injury form burns and it should not be permanently removed.

WARNING:

  1. Read this instructions before using this appliance.

  2. Use an appropriate regulator which is fixed at 37 mbar for propane

  3. Never disconnect the regulator while cylinder valve or regulator is open.

  4. Don’t change cylinders with in areas in which open fire exists.

  5. Don’t expose your cylinder to extreme heat.

  6. Don’t locate any other cylinders with in the space in which your heater is used.

  11. Do not cover your heater.

  12. Fabrics, clothing and other flammable materials may ignite if placed against the outlets of your heater.

  13. In the event of leakage, the appliance shall be turned off at the cylinder valve and the regulator disconnected from the cylinder.

  14. After use, turn off the appliance at the gas container valve.

  15. Only use in a well ventilated area.

  16. Disconnect cylinder. Store cylinder in a well-ventilated area away from combustible material.

  17. Storage should preferably be in an outdoor area away from extreme heat.

  18. The heater should be covered in a dry, dust-free medium in its original package.

MAINTENAINCE AND CLEANING

SYMPTOMS FAULT REMEDY
Pilot will not light automatically. No spark across electrode gap. (a)

Ensure that piezo-electric switch is functioning correctly.
(b) Check that electrical lead is not damaged.
2. Pilot will not light automatically but points (a) to (b) are satisfactory and the pilot will light with a match.| Incorrect position of spark in relation to pilot gas flow.| Re-position spark electrode so that spark jumps across gas flow.
3. Heater will not remain alight when pressure is released from the control button.| Electro-magnetic valve closes whilst heater is alight.| (a) Ensure that thermocouple probe is located in pilot flame. .
(b) Ensure good connection between thermocouple and valve.
(c)Check thermocouple.
(d)Check electromagnetic valve.
4.After changing to maximum position both plaques alight. One or more plaques appear below normal intensively.| Blocked jet
Partially blocked gas hose.| (a)Remove and clean blocked jet.
(b)Remove gas hose, and blow through the tube.
5. Difficulty in cross lighting| Air draught directed away from first plaque. Position of the pilot flame.| (a) Change the location of the appliance so that it is not
adversely affected by air draught.
(b) Position pilot so that flame impinges across bottom corner of 2 plaque as well as Is’ plaque.
6. Smell of combustion.| Missing piece of ceramic fireclay.| Inspect perimeter of each plaque and locate place where some fireclay has been displaced.
Repair with PYRUMA and leave to set for approx. 24 hours.
