PLEASE READ THIS INSTALLATION GUIDE BEFORE OPERATING YOUR PRODUCT
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capacities are different or reduced, or lack of experience or knowledge. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not use the devices as toys.

The operation of this device is subject to two conditions:
This lamp may not cause harmful interference
This lamp must accept any interference, including interference that may be caused by undesired operation.

Safety instructions

Read and follow all safety instructions:

  • The lamp is not waterproof. Avoid exposing it to splashing or dripping water.
  • The operating temperature should be within -10 °C to 40 °C (14 °F to 104 °F).
  • The lamp’s internal light source is unfixable. If it breaks, you must replace the entire lamp.
  • Do not install the lamp with a dimming driver.
  • Avoid installing the lamp near heat sources.
  • Avoid installing the lamp near potentially dangerous sources (e.g., candles, liquid-filled objects).

Installation

Installing steps:

  1. Before installing the lamp, ensure to turn off the switch of the socket or the lamp holder.
  2. Screw the lamp into the socket, and turn on the switch or the lamp holder. The device will begin to flash.
  3. If the lamp does not flash, refer to #6 in the “troubleshooting” section to restore the lamp to its factory default settings.

Pairing the device with the Amazon Alexa App

What you need:
A Wi-Fi router supporting the 2.4 GHz and 802.11 b/g/n bands. 5 GHz is not supported.
A smartphone or tablet running iOS 8.0 (or above) or Android 4.3 (or above).

  1. Download the Amazon Alexa app from the App Store (iOS device) or Google Play (Android devices).

  2. Connect your smartphone to your home network, and ensure the smartphone’s Bluetooth is already on.

  3. The lamp will rapidly flash (cold light, 6500K, 10% brightness, 2 times per second) when turning on the power supply. If the lamp does not flash, refer to #6 in the “troubleshooting” section to restore the lamp to it’s factory default settings.
    Attention: Please complete the pairing process within 5 minutes of powering on the device.

  4. Open the App and click Devices . Select and then click Add Device.

  5. Select Light -> Evolux, then select your corresponding device, and follow the onscreen instructions to complete pairing. If prompted by the App, scan the 2D barcode on the last page of this guide.

How to create lamps groups

You can group multiple lamps to turn them on with a single voice command via Alexa. A group, for example, might include all the lights in the bedroom or the lights in the living room. Follow these steps to create a group:

  1. Click Devices .
  2. Select the lamp, then click Add group.
  3. Enter a name for your group or choose an option from the list. Select Next.
  4. Choose the lights you want to add to the group and click Save.
  5. Once set up, all you have to do is tell Alexa which group of lights you want to control. For example, say: “Alexa, turn on the living room.”

How to detect the lamp in the Amazon Alexa App

  1. Ask Alexa to discover your voice. Say, “Alexa, discover my devices.”
  2. Alexa will start to discover devices; this may take up a few seconds.
  3. When Alexa finds your devices, the device name will show on the device list.

Use of the device with Alexa
To use your device with Alexa, say, “Alexa, turn on the lamp.”

Troubleshooting

I cannot connect the lamp to Amazon Alexa.

  • a. Verify that the Wi-Fi function of your smartphone is enabled. Ensure you connect to a 2.4 GHz band (the 5 GHz band is not supported).
  • b. Ensure that the distance between the lamp and the modem is less than 50 ft or within the modem’s network coverage.
  • c. Check that the lamp enters configuration mode by verifying that it is blinking.
  • d. Make sure that the Bluetooth function on your smartphone is enabled.

The lamp lost connection.

  • a. Check if the device is on.
  • b. Check that your home network is stable.
  • c. Go to Devices in the Amazon Alexa App and remove the lamp. Then reconnect it to the Wi-Fi network, following the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.

Is it possible to control groups with voice commands?

  • a. It is possible to group-control lamps with voice commands by creating a group from the Amazon Alexa App.

Where can I find the barcode?

  • a. You can find the barcode on the last page of this guide.

What should I do if I do not have a barcode or the configuration has failed?
If you do not have a barcode or the configuration has failed, perform the following steps:

  1. Select DON’T HAVE A BARCODE?
  2. Turn on the device until the light starts flashing rapidly.
  3. Press NEXT to continue with the configuration.

How to restore the factory default settings?

  1. Start with turning off the lamp for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Immediately turn it on for 2 seconds, then turn it off.
  3. Immediately turn it on again for 2 seconds, and then turn it off.
  4. Then turn on the lamp and wait for 5 seconds. If the reset was successful, the lamp will start to blink (6 500 K, 10% brightness, 1 minute later go to 100% brightness).
