Genmitsu LC-40 Laser Engraver Rotary Roller
Product Structure
Wire Connection
Connect the laser engraver and the rotary roller module with the cable provided.
Roller Connection on PC
Application: This Rotary Roller is used to engrave cylindrical materials, the maximum engravable length is 370mm (14.57in), the maximum engravable diameter is 390mm (15.39in). Instruction:
- Make sure the rotary roller module is properly connected to the laser engraver.
- Connect the laser engraver to the power supply and turn on the machine.
- Open the engraving software on your computer and click the Connect Button to connect the machine with the software.
- Enable the rotary roller module in the Settings.
- Place the cylindrical objects on the roller module for preview and engraving.
Roller Connection on Mobile Phone
Application: This Rotary Roller is used to engrave on cylinders, the maximum engravable length is 370mm (14.57in), the maximum engravable diameter is 390mm (15.39in). Instruction:
- Make sure the rotary roller module is properly connected to the laser engraver.
- Connect the laser engraver to the power supply and turn on the machine.
- Connect the laser engraver with the Engraver app.
- Enable the rotary roller module on the Equipment setting page.
- Place the cylindrical objects on the roller module for preview and engraving.
Roller Instruction in GRBL Firmware
What you need
- USB Type-B Cable
- Genmistu LC-40 Rotary Roller Module
- Firmware
- LaserGRBL/LightBurn
Firmware Flashing
- Connect the machine to the power supply and insert the USB cable.
- Press the repeat engraving button on the back of the machine for 3 seconds, then press the power button to enter the reboot mode. Open Up_ble_v1.3.exe (Figure 1) and click Start upgrade (Figure 2), the program will flash the firmware automatically.
- The firmware upgrade takes about one minute, wait for the progress bar reaches to the end, then shut down your laser engraver and power it back on. (Figure 3)
LaserGRBL

Download and install LaserGRBL from its official website (https://lasergrbl.com/), run the program.

Select the appropriate COM Port and click the Connect button. (Figure 5)
With a successful connection you will see text in the console window that says “Grbl 1.1f [‘$’ for help]” and show “Laser Ready” (Figure 6) -
Navigate to the Grbl – Grbl Configuration (Figure 7) to enter the configuration page (Figure 8-1 & Figure 8-2), import the corresponding configuration and then close the window.

Connect the Rotary Roller Module with the laser engraver, and focus the engraving material.

Open a picture in LaserGRBL, (Figure 9-1 & Figure 9-2), and you can adjust the related settings. Make sure the Quality≥10 lines/mm (Figure 10), and the Offset settings in the next page should be X≥5.0, Y=5.0 (Figure 11).

The image will be created in short and click the “Framing” button in the bottom to preview your engraving project. (Figure 12)

Click the “Start” button to start engraving.
LightBurn Instruction
Download and install Lightburn from its official website
(https://lightburnsoftware.com/), connect the machine with USB Type-B cable
and run the program.

In the Devices page (Figure 15), click the ‘Find My Laser’ button, and you’ll see this screen (Figure 16).

Make sure your device is properly connected. When the laser is ready, click “Next”.

After a short scan, LightBurn will list the devices it was able to recognize, select your laser and click ‘Add Device’. (Figure 17)

Choose “Front Left” for the origin of your laser, then click “Next”.(Figure 18)

Check the device info in the Device Discovery Wizard, click “Finish” if they are all correct. (Figure 19)

You can now see your newly added device in your device list, select it and click “OK” to use LightBurn. (Figure 20)

“Edit” – “Device Settings” (Figure 21)

Choose the “GCode” tab in this screen (Figure 22)

Add
in the “Start GCode” section and click “OK” to finish device setup.
Note: This Start Gcode is for the laser rotary roller module only, please delete it when you are using the laser engraver. -
Open an image file in LightBurn and adjust the image and engraving settings as needed.

Click “Frame” in the down right corner to preview the boundary of your engraving project.

Click ”Start” to start engraving.
