**** Safety information
This electrical cutting device fulfills the applicable standards of European
and national guidelines and has been constructed in accordance with state-of-
the-art technology. Pay close attention to the instructions and information
contained in the operating instructions in order to ensure safe utilization.
CAUTION: Read all the safety information and instructions. Non-observance
of the warnings and instructions can result in an electric shock, fire, and/or
serious injuries.
The term “electric power tool” used in the safety instructions refers to
mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) electrical power tools.
Safety in the work area. Keep the work area clean and well lit.
Do not use the device in explosive areas, for example in the vicinity of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical power tools can generate sparks
that can lead to highly flammable materials igniting.
Keep a safe distance from children and other persons when working using
this electrical power tool. Distractions can cause accidents.
Electrical safety. The connector plug provided with the power supply
must fit into the plug socket. Do not modify the plug under any circumstances.
Do not use adapter plugs with earthed electrical power tools.
Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces, such as heating pipes, stoves,
and refrigerators. The risk of electric shock is increased if your body is
earthed.
Only use the electrical device indoors. Do not expose the device to rain
or moisture under any circumstances. Ingress of water into the electrical
power tool can increase the risk of an electric shock.
**** Do not overstretch the power supply cord. Do not use the cord to carry
or pull the electrical power tool. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of an
electric shock.
Personal safety
**** Be careful when using the cordless shears. Do not use the shears if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A single moment of carelessness when operating the electrical power tool may result in serious injuries.
Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Using
protective equipment, such as dusk masks, non-slip safety shoes, or hearing
protection, helps to avoid injuries.
Avoid accidental starting. Make sure that the switch in the Off position
before connecting a power source. Make sure not to accidentally press the
switch when carrying the shears. Risk of injury!
Device description
**** This electrical tool is only suitable for work indoors.
- Shearing head with built-in blades
- Button for replacing the shearing head
- Safety switch
- Charging socket
- LED charging indicator
- On/Off switch lever
Charging the battery
**** Always make sure that the On/Off switch is in the Off position before
charging the device.
The battery for these cordless shears was delivered at a low state of charge.
Fully charge the battery before using the device for the first time.
Note:
The battery will not usually reach full charging capacity when charged for the
first time. The full charging capacity will only be reached after a few
charging cycles. The battery should only be charged indoors.
You should therefore initially leave the electrical power tool connected to
the power supply for 7 hours. After the initial charging process and normal
use, it will usually
take 3-5 hours to full charge the battery.
The battery and the power supply may feel warm during the charging process.
This is normal and is not a malfunction.
Do not place the cordless shears, including the charger, in an area with
extreme heat or cold. The ideal ambient
Charging indicator
Connects the adapter to a suitable power supply.
Important:
Check the voltage on the type plate. Insert the charger plug into the charging
socket on the tool’s rear handle. The shears connection has a red LED. The LED
will light up (red) as soon as the charger is connected.
temperature for charging is the normal temperature within heated inside rooms.
The LED goes out again once the battery is fully charged. Pull out the cord once charging is complete.
Replacing the cutting head
NOTE:
Make sure that the safety switch is in the Off position before replacing the
shearing head.
- Lift the knob in the housing above the shearing head (2) and hold it up while removing the shearing head.
- Install the desired shearing head by pushing it into the tool until it engages, as shown in the image.
- Switching on the device: Push safety switch (3) forwards and switch to On. Press the On/Off switch lever (6).|
- Switching off the device: Release the On/Off switch lever and push the safety switch into the Off position.
Initial operation
Maintain proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control
of the device tool in unexpected situations.
Wear appropriate clothing. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught in moving
parts. Before using the device for the first time, remove the charger from the
socket and disconnect the device from the charger. The shears will not work if
they are still connected to the charger.
Switch on the device.
Allow the cutting blades to move freely for a brief a moment before starting
to cut.
Do not apply too much pressure on the tool. The perfect cut can be best made
when there is no great resistance. Both straight and curved cuts can be made
with great precision.
The cutting blades become hot during use; do not touch them under any
circumstances until they have cooled down fully.
As soon as the blades become blunt, the cutting resistance increases and the
cut will not look neat.
We therefore recommend that you replace the shearing head in a timely manner.
The following maximum material strengths must be observed in order to avoid
damage to the shearing head:
Cotton | 2.5 mm |
---|---|
Felt | 6.0 mm |
Leather | 3.5 mm |
Carpet | 3.5 mm |
Vinyl flooring | 3.5 mm |
Corrugated | |
cardboard | 5.0 mm |
Solid cardboard | 1.8 mm |
