Processing
Lay with the film side facing down and approx. 10 cm overlap of the rolls.
Note
The non-woven masking must be laid without creasing with the adhesive side
facing down. Pay attention to possible tripping hazards and eliminate them.
When laying with an overlap, plan for an overlap of approx. 10 cm. If needed,
fix the sides with adhesive tape. Our non-woven masking is not suitable for
recently laid flooring, porous stone floors, natural stone floors and
earthenware slabs. We recommend a vapour diffusion open variant for this (non-
slip non-woven “Floor Cover blue”). The underfloor heating must be switched
off. The substrate must be permanently dry, clean, free from dust, resistant
to tension/pressure and free of release agents. Special tests must be
performed on waxed, varnished wood and parquet floors as well as old or
heavily stressed substrates. As the materials, substrates and exter-nal
influences differ, users must always carry out their own tests to check
suitability on site, as there may be a risk of not being able to remove the
masking without leaving residues or of the surface coating peeling off. If the
laying ability it impaired by holes, tears, insufficient adhesive strength or
loosening of the film from the non-woven, the non-woven cover must no longer
be used. In case of multiple use of the non-woven masking, pos-sible
contamination of the non-woven may be transferred to the film dur-ing rolling
up; attention must be paid to residues and to reduced adhesive strength when
laying again. If the non-woven is no longer suitable for laying, the wear
limit of the cover non-woven has been reached and it should be replaced. The
film must not be removed at a 90° angle to the surface. The ambient
temperature when removing the film should be between +15 °C and +50 °C. The
film must never be pulled off in case of frost. After use, this non-woven
masking can be disposed of as normal domestic waste/non-sorted waste. The
rolls can be stored under normal room conditions (+10° – +30° C) for approx. 6
months; they must be protected against direct sunlight, heat, dust and
moisture. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage that occurs.
Note
Our recommended use cases are intended to support the purchaser or pro-cessor
and are based on our tests and experience. They do not release you from your
responsibility to test our super-adhesive “Superhaft” absorbent non-woven for
suitability for the intended application before use, e.g., by performing
bonding tests. Further help can be found in the “Masking and covering tasks”
leaflet for decorators published by the “Bundesverband Ausbau und Fassade”
(Federal Association for Finishing and Facades) and the Bundesverband Farbe
Gestaltung Bautenschutz (Federal Association for Paint Design and Building
Protection), latest version, published 2019. We cannot provide any guarantee
for specific processing results.
