ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERIES AND CHARGERS

Use only batteries and chargers applicable for this machine.

BATTERIES

  • Never attempt to open for any reason.
  • Do not store in locations where the temperature may exceed 40 °C.
  • Charge only at ambient temperatures between 4 °C and 40 °C.
  • When disposing of batteries, follow the instructions given in the section “Protecting the environment”.
  • Do not cause short circuits. If connection is made between the positive (+) and negative (-) terminal directly or via accidental contact with metallic objects, the battery is short circuited and an intense current will flow causing heat generation which may lead to casing rupture or fire.
  • Do not heat. If batteries are heated to above 100 °C, sealing and insulating separators and other polymer components may be damaged resulting in electrolyte leakage and/or internal short circuiting leading to heat generation causing rupture or file. Moreover do not dispose of the batteries in fire, explosion and/or intense burning may result.
  • Under extreme conditions, battery leakage may occur. When you notice liquid on the battery, proceed as follows:
  • Carefully wipe the liquid off using a cloth. Avoid skin contact.
  • In case of skin or eye contact, follow the instructions below:
  1. Immediately rinse with water. Neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar.
  2. In case of eye contact, rinse abundantly with clean water for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Consult a physician.
Fire hazard! Avoid short-circuiting the contacts of a detached battery. Do not incinerate the battery.

CHARGERS

  • Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Have defective cords replaced immediately.
  • Do not expose to water.
  • Do not open the charger.
  • Do not probe the charger.
  • The charger is intended for indoor use only.

OPERATION

BATTERY CHARGER (SOLD SEPARATELY)
The lithium-ion battery can be charged at any time and will not develop a “memory” when charged after only a partial discharge. It is not necessary to run down the battery pack charge before recharging. Remove the battery pack from the tool when convenient for you and your job. You can “top-off” your battery pack’s charge before starting a big job or long period of use.
Due to lithium-ion’s fade-free properties, the only time it is necessary to charge the lithium-ion battery pack is when the pack has reached the end of its charge. To signal the end of charge, power to the tool will drop quickly. Charge the battery pack as needed.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
This lithium-ion battery pack is shipped partially charged. Before using it the first time, fully charge the battery pack. A fully discharged battery pack with a temperature between 0°C and 40°C will charge in about 1 hour.

  • Plug the charger adapter into power source. The green light on the charger stand will illuminate, indicating the charger is powered.
  • Slide the battery all the way into the charger stand. The red light on the charger stand will illuminate, indicating that the battery is charging.
  • The red light will go off after charging is complete and a green light will appear.
  • NOTE: Batteries may become warm while charging. This is normal. If the battery is hot after continuous use in the tool, allow it to cool down to room temperature before charging. This will extend the life of your batteries.
WARNING: Always disconnect the battery pack from the tool before any assembly, adjustments or changing accessories.

INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
Depress the battery-release button located on the front of the battery pack to release battery pack. Pull the battery pack out and remove it from the tool.
Warning!
Always remove the battery pack before making adjustments to the equipment Be sure to read the following information before you put the cordless equipment into operation:
Charge the battery pack with the charger. An empty battery pack requires a charging period of approximately 0.5 to 1 hour.

SAFETY KEY
The motor unit has a safety key, which is placed under the battery cover. If the safety key is removed, the power is disconnected, and it cannot start. See illustration 9

It is always recommended to remove the safety key:

  • When the lawn mower is left unattended (to prevent unintended start, e.g. by minors)
  • Before cleaning and maintenance
  • Before removing grass build up.
Remove the safety key, by pulling it out. Insert the safety key to start the motor.
Place the key in the correct way!

CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
The mower has 5 different heights. The cutting height ranges from 25 mm to 75 mm

START
Never start the mower directly on long grass.

  1. Open the battery cover (9) on the motor unit, slide in the battery (10) and click it in place (illustration 5)
  2. Make sure the safety key (12) is inserted (illustration 8).
  3. Hold the start button (1) down and activate the handlebar for engine brake (2) to start the motor. Release start button once started (illustration 1)

Note: As long as operating the mower, the handlebar for engine brake must be engaged.

STOP
Release the engine brake to turn off the mower and the engine
Note: The blades will still rotate at up to 3 seconds after stopping.

REMOVE THE BATTERY
To remove the battery, press and hold the latch button under the battery and pull it out.

WORKING TIME
The working time per full charge depends of several factors, like length of grass, cutting height and cutting methods (mulching or collection).

VARIABLE MOTOR-SPEED

The motor adjusts the blade-rotations to match the load (length and thickness of the grass). You will therefore hear that the motor-speed will go up/down while cutting the grass. This is perfectly normal and ensures a more energy- effective use of the power from the battery

INDICATOR FOR FULL GRASS COLLECTOR (ILLUSTRATION 7)

The practical indicator (A) on the grass collectors tells, when it is full of grass and need to be emptied.

BLADE
Inspection of the blade

  • Tilt the mower with the front upwards.
  • Inspect blade for damage, cracks or excessive rust or corrosion.
  • Check that the blade bolt is tightened.
Note: A dull blade can be sharpened! But a blade that is worn, bent, cracked or otherwise damaged must be replaced.

REMOVING THE BLADE: SEE ILLUSTRATION 11
If you remove the blade to sharpen or replace it, you must use a torque wrench and some heavy gloves to protect your hands.

  1. Loosen the blade bolt with the included tool. Use a piece of wood to prevent the blade from turning around.
  2. Remove the bolt, washer, blade and blade holder in that order
  3. Sharpen or replace the blade.
  4. Insert the blade holder, blade, washer and bolt in that order.
  5. Tighten the blade bolt with 25 Nm with the included tool. Use a piece of wood to prevent the blade from turning around.
Warning: A blade must be sharpened so it is in 100 % balance, otherwise it may cause vibrations that could damage the engine. Damage to engine due to faulty sharpening is not covered by warranty. We therefore recommend letting a service center sharpen the blade.

MAINTENANCE

Maintain your lawnmower: Check all bolts, screws, nuts and deck. Dismount the blade and the belt plastic cover for regular cleaning. Always make sure that the blade is sharp. Keep the motor unit free from grass and dirt.

STORAGE

After use the lawnmower kept in a dry and clean room. Clean the machine after every use. Grass and dirt must be removed from the underside of the deck. Remove the safety key before cleaning and storage. Winter storage: Spray silicone lubrication into the cables and move them. Finally, clean the mower thoroughly. Dip a cloth in oil and lubricate metal parts to prevent rust. For storage of battery, see “Battery” section.

REPAIR

Only use accessories and spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
If the device is damaged after a few days, despite our quality control and your maintenance, only an authorized electrician can repair it.

ENVIRONMENT

Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not dispose of it with the household refuse, but in an environmentally safe way.
Waste produced by electrical machine items should not be handled like normal household rubbish. Please recycle where recycle facilities exist. Check you’re your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.
