Safety instructions regarding batteries

WARNING!
Fatal danger!
Batteries must not be swallowed! There is a risk of fatal injuries!

  • Batteries may be fatal if swallowed, so this article and its batteries must be stored out of the reach of small children.
  • Swallowing can lead to chemical burns, soft tissue perforations and death.
  • Serious internal chemical burns can already occur within 2 hours of ingestion.
  • If a battery has been swallowed, please consult a doctor without de-lay!
  • Keep the batteries out of the reach of children.

WARNING!

Do not touch leaked batteries with bare hands! There is a risk of injury!

  • Leaked or damaged batteries may cause chemical burns if they come into contact with skin. Do not touch leaked batteries with bare hands; therefore ensure that you wear appropriate protective gloves in this case!
  • Only use type LR6/AA batteries from the same manufacturer. Insert the batteries into the designated battery compartment with the correct polarity.
  • Do not use combinations of old and new batteries or rechargeable batteries.
  • Store batteries in a dry and cool, not damp, place.
  • Never throw batteries into fire.
  • Do not short-circuit batteries.
  • Disposable batteries also lose part of their energy during storage.
  • Remove the batteries if the device is not in use.
  • Discharged batteries must be imme-diately removed in order to avoid battery leakage and thus damage to the device.
  • Empty batteries or used recharge-able batters must be disposed of properly.
  • Store disposable batteries separately from discharged batteries, in order to avoid mix-ups.

Start-up

  1. Remove all packaging materials. Check whether all parts are available and undamaged.
  2. If this is not the case, notify the specified service address.

Remove safety strip for batteries (Fig. B)
The batteries 2 are already inserted in the delivery state and are provided with a safety strip 4a which must be re-moved before the first start-up. Applies to: 414568-22-A, -C-KL

  1. Open the cover 3 of the battery compartment 4 by pressing it down, sliding it back slightly and then flipping it open.
  2. Remove the safety strip 4a.
  3. Close the cover 3 .

Applies to: 414568-22-B-KL

  1. Remove the safety strip 4a.
    The product 1 is now ready to use.

  2. Setting up the product
    Set up the product 1 in an appropriate place.

NOTE!

  • The surface should be even, so that the product 1 cannot fall over.
  • The place should have sufficient free space around the product
  • Place a protective blanket underneath the product 1 . Sensitive sur-faces could become scratched by the product

Use (Fig. C)
Product on/off switching
The battery compartment 4 is located on the side of the product 1 .
To turn on the product 1 , slide the switch 5 on the battery compartment 4 to the “ON” position. To switch off, slide the switch 5 to the “OFF” position.

Timer function
The product 1 is equipped with a timer function. If you move the switch 5 to the “TIMER” position, the timer function will switch on. If the timer function is switched on, the product 1 will switch off automatically after 6 hours. After another 18 hours, the product 1 will automatically switch back on. As long as the switch 5 is left in the “TIMER” position, this daily rhythm will be repeated.
Inserting/replacing the battery (Fig. B)
When the light of the LEDs becomes weaker, the batteries must be replaced. For this, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the cover 3 of the battery compartment 4 by pressing it down, sliding it slightly backwards and flipping it open (414568-22-A, -C-KL) or remov-ing it (414568-22-B-KL).
  2. Remove any depleted batteries from the battery compartment
  3. Insert 2 new LR6/AA batteries into the battery compartment 4 ac-cording to the polarity.
  4. Close the cover 3 .
    The product 1 is now ready to use.

Cleaning and care instructions

CAUTION!
Risk of injury!
Before cleaning, you must remove the batteries from the battery compartment. There is a risk of electric shock!

  • clean only with a brush or feather duster
  • do not use any strong detergents and/or chemicals
  • do not immerse in water
  • store in a cool, dry place and protected from UV light

This device complies with the fundamental requirements and other relevant regulations of the European Electro-magnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU and the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU. The complete original conformity declaration is available from the importer.

Disposal

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging and operating instructions are made of 100 % environmentally friend-ly materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling centres.

Disposal of the product
The product may not be dis-posed of with normal house-hold waste. For information on disposal options for the product, please contact your local council/municipality or your Kaufland shop.
Disposal of the battery / re-chargeable battery

  • Defective or used rechargeable batteries have to be recycled in accordance with Direc-tive 2006/66/EC and its amendments.
  • Batteries and disposable batteries  are not permitted to be disposed of with household waste. They con-tain harmful heavy metals. Mark-ing: Pb (= lead), Hg (= mercury), Cd (= cadmium). You are legally obligated to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries. After use, you can either return batteries to our point of sale or in the direct vicinity (e.g. with a retailer or in municipal collection centres) free of charge. Batteries and recharge-able batteries are marked with a crossed-out waste bin.

Warranty

Dear customer, the warranty on this product is 3 years from the purchase date. In the event of defects in this prod-uct, you are entitled to exercise your statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not limited by our warranty described in the following.

Warranty conditions
The warranty begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original receipt. This document is required as verification of the purchase.
If a material or manufacturing defect arises within three years from the pur- chase date of this product, the product will be repaired or replaced, as per our choice, at no charge to you. This warranty service requires the submis- sion of the purchase receipt and the defective product within the three-year period and a short written description of the defect and when it arose.
If the defect is covered by our warran-ty, the repaired or a new product will be returned to you. The warranty pe-riod does not restart with the repair or replacement of the product.

Guarantee period and statuto-ry claims for defects
The guarantee period will not be ex-tended by the warranty. This also ap-plies to replaced and repaired parts. Damage and defects which may pos-sibly already exist upon purchase must be reported immediately after unpack-ing. After the guarantee period has ex-pired, required repairs shall be subject to a charge.

Scope of guarantee
The device has been carefully produced under strict quality guidelines and conscientiously inspected prior to delivery. The guarantee service applies to material or manufacturing faults. This guarantee does not extend to product parts, which are exposed to normal wear and tear and can there-fore be regarded as wearing parts or to damage to fragile parts, e.g. switch-es, battery packs or which are made of glass.
This guarantee shall lapse, if the prod-uct is damages, not used properly or maintained properly. For proper use of the product, all of the instructions in the operating instructions must be precisely complied with. Purposes and actions, which are dissuaded from or warned about in the operating instructions must be avoided.
The product is only intended for private and not commercial use. In the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and with interventions, which are not performed by our authorised ser-vice branch, the guarantee shall lapse.

Processing in the case of a guarantee claim
To ensure quick processing of your concern, please follow the instructions below:

  • Please have the till receipt and article number available (IAN) 414568 – 2201 as proof of the purchase.
  • You can find the article number on the rating plate on the product, as an engraving on the product, the title place of your instructions or the sticker on the back or underside of the product.
  • If malfunctions or other defects occur, first contact the service department below by telephone or e-mail. You can then send a product that has been recorded as being defective, including the proof of purchase (till receipt) and stating what the defect is and when it occurred, postage-free to the service address provided to you.
