Other Consumer Safety Information

This appliance is intended for household use only.

WARNING
Shock Hazard: This product is provided with either a polarized (one wide blade) or grounded (3-prong) plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized or grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type, 3-wire cord. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

Frequently Asked Questions

This skillet is how deep?****

The depth of the skillet is little around 2 1/4 inches, and the lid is also not very tall.

Does this reach a temperature high enough to fry chicken and crisp bacon?****

It does, indeed. The skillet can withstand temperatures as high as 400°F and as low as 200°F. I’ve used it to make meals in one skillet, cook noodles and potatoes, make chili, fry donuts, render bacon fat, cook it to a crisp without burning it, and more.

If left on, will it turn off?****

As long as electricity is applied to the device, it will remain on. The temperature dial has no timed function. No.

Is this ok for deep frying as well?****

I personally wouldn’t use it as a deep fryer because it fries chicken and other foods extremely nicely, but otherwise I think it’s a great device and haven’t had any issues with it.

What kind of wattage does it use? Wattage is found on the actual appliance. typically located on or next to the plug in.****

It will need 1200 watts of power if it reads 10A. This will heat up as quickly as possible on US electrical connections because that is roughly the maximum power consumption for kitchen appliances.

How does the coating work? I’ve had a few and the coating degrades with time, causing food to stick. The ceramic food-stuck item was the final one.****

Does this have temperature controls other than just warm, medium, and hot?****

It does, indeed. Warm, 200, and then increments of 50 degrees all the way up to 400 are written on the dial.

Can I prepare rice with gravy?****

I guess you could cook gravy in a microwave because I use one to cook rice.

Can I use this to warm food? Which setting is the lowest?****

There is a bare bar space on the heater. Anywhere on the space that you place the space will keep it warm. The temperature in the bar area will be between 100 and 150 degrees.

Can I use it to cook hamburger?****

Yes, I can brown hamburger in it, and hopefully yours will heat up a little more evenly than mine.

Is the nonstick made of Teflon?****

Non-stick, yet not Teflon.

Is it washable in a machine?****

It is washable by hand. With the exception of the cover, it is quite water resistant but not dishwasher safe. In a sink, the surface is so simple to clean that it is not a major concern.
