Frequently Asked Questions

Does the washable filter come with it?

It didn’t seem to have a filter to me. One K cup contains one filter. However, mine severely leaked, so I can’t advise.

Does the water come in contact with any plastic?

No doubt. The water tank is made of polypropylene. On the Keurigs I’ve seen, they are also plastic.

Can this be used to create hot chocolate?

Yes, if it’s hot cocoa in a K-cup. With hers and some tea, my wife did that. Anything that is packaged for use with a Keurig can be made.

How does Manny Watts use this?

Read the specifications to learn the wattage. Use the WATTS rule, which states that I x E = W, where I is the current or amps and E is the electricity or voltage applied (in this case, 110 or 120V), if it provides you with amperes or amps. This will give you your watts. In this case, multiplying 5 amps by 120 will give you 600W.

Makes loose leaf tea this way?

No, making loose leaf tea with this device is not common practise.

Can you plug this into a cigarette lighter while travelling?

You might be able to if your lighter has a plug.

Can I purchase the tiny device that holds a K-cup? The original one disappeared.

No, you need to purchase a new one.

Can the strength be changed between 8 oz and 14 oz?

Utilizing more or less water is the only technique to change the coffee’s strength. The manufacturer itself has not been altered.

Can I use Nespresso® single-serve dulce gusto® cups with this coffee maker?

Any loose coffee will work in any I. K. cup.

Can you empty the water fully so it can be stored?

Yes, it is true that it lacks a water tank. What you pour into the coffee basket determines how much is poured out hot. Just be sure to run some distilled vinegar through it a few times, dry up the water completely, and then properly wash and dry the filter and basket before storing it.
