Never remove the waffle with any kind of cutting device or other metallic kitchen utensil.

This appliance is intended for household use only.

This appliance is only intended for the preparation, cooking, and serving of foods. This appliance is not intended for use with any nonfood materials or products.

Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet. The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over. To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

How to Use

Burn Hazard. Always use an oven mitt to protect hand when opening a hot waffle maker. Escaping steam can burn.
Before first use: Wipe bottom and top Waffle Grids with a soapy, damp cloth. Rinse cloth; then wipe Grids again.

Plug cord into electrical outlet and red POWER light comes on.
Preheat with cover closed until green READY light comes on.
Raise Cover and pour about 1/4 cup (59 mL)of batter into bottom of each Waffle Grid. Lower Cover.
Once you pour batter on Grids, green READY light will turn off when heating. Light will cycle on and off and does not indicate that waffle is done.
Waffles are done in about 2 1/2to 3 1/2 minutes, depending on recipe, or when steaming begins to stop. Remove waffle with plastic or wooden utensil. Never use metal. This will damage the nonstick coating.
Unplug when finished cooking and let cool completely before storing.

POWER and READY Lights

Red POWER light comes on when Waffle Maker is first plugged in. This light will stay on until the unit is unplugged.

Green READY light comes on when Waffle Maker has reached ideal temperature to add batter. For best results, wait until READY light comes on before adding batter. Green READY light will cycle on and off when heating and does not indicate that waffle is done.

Waffle Maker Tips

Most waffle recipes can be poured directly onto Nonstick Waffle Grids. Use a cooking spray for dessert waffles or any recipe with a lot of sugar. If your waffles start to stick, Grids may need to be scrubbed with a nylon brush to remove any cooked-on food particles.
Waffles can be made ahead of time and kept warm in a 200°F (90°C) oven.
To store waffles, let cool and then pack in an airtight container. Store in refrigerator or freezer. Waffles can be reheated in a microwave oven, a toaster oven, a toaster, or a regular oven.
Most waffles are done in about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes. Check for doneness when steaming begins to stop. If Cover doesn’t lift easily, let waffle cook a minute more before checking again.

Care and Cleaning

Electrical Shock Hazard. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or base in water or any other liquid.

Unplug from outlet and let cool.
Wipe Waffle Grids and outside of unit with a damp, soapy cloth. Rinse cloth and wipe Grids again.
Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive cleansers on any part of the unit. Never use sharp or pointed objects for cleaning purposes.

Recipe

TIP: Waffles can be frozen and then reheated. Make a large batch ahead of time and let cool on a cooling rack. Freeze in airtight storage bags; then heat in a toaster oven, a toaster, or a regular oven.

Basic Waffles

1 cup (125 g) flour
1 tablespoon (17 g) sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons (7 g) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon (3 g) salt
3/4 cup (177 mL) milk
3 tablespoons (44 mL) vegetable oil
1 egg

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt; set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together milk, oil, and egg. Gradually add milk mixture to flour mixture. Stir until just blended. Pour 1/4 cup (59 mL) of batter into waffle maker. Close cover and cook 2 1/2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

Serves: 8

Test Kitchen Tip: Homemade waffle batter may take longer to cook than packaged pancake and waffle mix. The packaged mix waffles are done in about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes.

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is unavailable, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.

This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified on the rating label (e.g., 120 V ~ 60 Hz).

We exclude all claims for special, incidental, and consequential damages caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including any statutory warranty or condition of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, is disclaimed except to the extent prohibited by law, in which case such warranty or condition is limited to the duration of this written warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may have other legal rights that vary depending on where you live. Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on implied warranties or special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the foregoing limitations may not apply to you.
