Before First Use: Most heating appliances produce an odor and/or smoke when used for the first time. Plug into an outlet. Move the temperature control to 8; then let preheat for approximately 5 minutes. The odor should not be present after this initial preheating. Wipe the cooking surface with a soft, soapy cloth; then wipe with a soft, damp cloth before using.

How to Make Crepes

  1. Prepare crepe batter according to the recipe.

  2. Plug in the crepe maker and the power light will illuminate orange. Slide temperature control to the desired heat setting. 1 is the lowest heat setting and 8 is the highest heat setting. Move temperature control to 4. The power light will illuminate green when the desired temperature is reached. For browner crepes move the temperature control to increase the temperature.

  3. Spray the cooking surface lightly with cooking spray or add 1 teaspoon (5 g) butter, and wait until melted.

  4. Using the batter cup, pour 1/2 cup (118 ml) batter onto the cooking surface for a small crepe, or 3/4 cup (177 ml) batter for a large crepe.
    Quickly place the batter spreader in the center of the batter moving clockwise or counterclockwise, spreading the mixture out for a thin crepe.

  5. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the bottom of the crepe is lightly browned. If desired, use the spatula to turn the crepes over and cook for an additional minute. Remove and place on a platter. Cover to keep warm while making the remaining crepes.

  6. Move temperature control to 1 setting. Unplug and cool completely.

Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse the cord, plug, or base in water or any liquid.

  1. Make sure the crepe maker is unplugged and completely cooled.
  2. The batter cup, spatula, and batter spreader are dishwasher-safe in the top rack of the dishwasher.
  3. Wipe the base with a damp cloth.
  4. Remove any residue with a paper towel.
  5. Wipe the cooking surface with a soft, damp cloth. Allow the cooking surface to completely dry before storing.
