Main components of appliance

Main components of appliance

  1. Lid
  2. Control panel
  3. Power switch
  4. Water level indicator
  5. Filter unit
  6. Glass jug

Carry out 2 brewing cycles without coffee before brewing any actual coffee.
Allow all the water to run through and then pour it away. Rinse the glass jug and brew another jug without coffee so that the coffee maker is completely clean. NOTE! Always use clean, cold water.

Brewing coffee
Open the lid on the water reservoir and fill it with the desired amount of water between the minimum and maximum marks (min 4 cups/max 11 cups). See the marking on the outside of the water reservoir when filling.

Note that the quantity of brewed coffee will be slightly less, as the ground coffee absorbs some of the water. Place the glass jug with the lid on the hotplate.

Insert a filter (1×4) into the filter holder and measure out the required quantity of coffee into the filter – approx 1 coffee measure per cup. Never add more than 75 g of ground coffee, otherwise the filter may overflow, which in turn will result in grounds in the coffee.

Make sure that the filter holder is positioned correctly and that the handle is fully lowered so that the holder locks in place before the lid is lowered.

Plug the appliance into a wall socket, display shows “12:00”. Set the desired coffee intensity by pressing the AROMA button to the desired level – 1, 2 or 3 coffee beans are shown in the display. The time will then be shown on the display again.

Press the switch to start the coffee maker. The red indicator lamp will light up on the display and the strength setting of the coffee will be shown above the time. The coffee will start brewing shortly after. Three beeps will be heard to tell you that the coffee is ready.

The hotplate underneath the glass jug will get very hot. Always switch off the coffee maker once the glass jug is empty or when the coffee no longer needs to be kept hot. For reasons of hygiene, we always recommend removing the used coffee filter from the coffee maker once the brewing process is complete.

Coffee brewing using the timer
Prepare the coffee maker with a filter and ground coffee as per the instructions above. Plug the appliance in if you have not already done so.

Set the current time
Press the PROG button until CLOCK is shown on the display.

Press the HOUR and MIN buttons to enter the current time. Each press of the MIN button increases the time by one minute (0-59). Each press of the H button increases the time by one hour (00-23). Press and hold the button to move through the numbers more quickly. Wait until the set time stops flashing.
The time has now been set.

Setting the timer
Press the PROG button until TIMER is shown on the display.

Press the HOUR and MIN buttons to enter the desired start time. Each press of the HOUR button increases the time by one hour (0-23). Each press of the MIN button increases the time by one minute (00-59). Press the PROG button again, the display shows the aroma setting (coffee beans), time and a blue round symbol at the bottom right of the display. This symbol indicates that the timer has been set.

If no setting is made within 5 seconds, the display returns to displaying the current time.

Once the programmed time has been reached, a red symbol will be displayed and the coffee will start brewing automatically. Three beeps will be heard to tell you that the coffee is ready.

If you want to interrupt the timer setting, press the PROG button or switch and the blue timer dot will go out.

NOTE! If the appliance is unplugged after programming, all settings will be lost.

Anti-drip function
This coffee maker has an automatic anti-drip function that prevents the coffee from running through the filter holder if the jug is removed from the hotplate.

In other words, you can briefly remove the jug from the coffee maker during the brewing process. However, it is important to replace the jug on the hotplate within 1 minute, otherwise the coffee will run over.

Automatic shut-off function
The coffee maker is equipped with an automatic shut-off function that ensures that the coffee maker’s keep-warm function switches off automatically after 35 minutes.

Cleaning and maintenance
Switch off the coffee maker. Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool down before cleaning. Remove any used coffee filter and clean the coffee maker with a damp cloth. Wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use scouring powder or a kitchen sponge! The coffee maker must not be submerged in water or held under running water. The glass jug, its lid and the filter holder can be washed in the dishwasher.

NOTE! If the coffee maker is used in locations where there is a risk of frost (caravan, summer cottage, etc.), make sure to FULLY empty the coffee maker’s reservoir of water (turn the appliance upside down). This is to ensure that the reservoir is not destroyed by residual water freezing. Also empty the coffee maker if it will not be used for a prolonged period.

Descaling
If the coffee has a bitter, unpleasant taste, this may be because the coffee maker needs descaling. If the brewing time is significantly extended or if the coffee maker spits, this is a sure sign that it needs descaling. We recommend descaling the coffee maker once a month or after around every 25 brews. Use a mix of 24% vinegar and water or citric acid and water for descaling.

Descaling with vinegar:

  1. Fill the reservoir with water up to the 4 cup mark.
  2. Add vinegar to 6 cups.
  3. Start the coffee maker and allow 2/3 of the solution to run through.
  4. Stop the brewing process and allow to stand for around 15 minutes.
  5. Start again and allow the rest to run through.
  6. Finish by running 2-3 brewing cycles with just water.
  7. Repeat the procedure if the normal brewing time has still not been achieved.
  8. Other descaling methods should not be used.

Descaling with citric acid:

  1. Fill the reservoir with water up to the 10 cup mark.
  2. Add 30 g of citric acid to the water.

Limescale deposits are not covered by the right of complaint.

Disposing of the appliance

By law, electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for the recycling of components. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the waste management symbol must be disposed of at a municipal recycling point.
