Safety instructions

Take the time to read all the following instructions carefully.

  •  Read the instructions for use carefully before using your appliance for the first time: use which does not conform to the instructions will release the manufacturer from all responsibility and the guarantee will be deemed null and void.
  •  This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  •  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  •  If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  •  This appliance is intended for household use only. It is not intended to be used in the following applications, and the guarantee will not apply for :
    •  staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    •  farm houses;
    •  by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    •  bed and breakfast type environments.
  • For Food Processor or Blender be careful if hot liquid is poured into the food processor or blender as it can be ejected out of the appliance due to a sudden steaming.
  •  Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning. For appliances with accessories with dough hooks (food mixers) or blender shaft or mincers or blender or shredder (depending on model): this appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  •  For appliances with accessories with egg beater or cream whippers or multi-blade whisk or graters (depending on model): this appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are aged from 8 years and above and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
  •  Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
  •  Children shall not play with the appliance.
  •  Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.
  •  Clean all of the accessories that have been in contact with food, in soapy water immediately after use.
  •  Improper use of the appliance and its accessories may damage the appliance and cause injury.
  •  Some accessories have some sharp blades (depending on model), take care when handling the sharp cutting blades, emptying the bowl and during cleaning.
  •  To avoid all accidents and damage the appliance, follow operating times and speed settings for accessories specified in the manual.
  •  Please check that the supply voltage of your appliance corresponds to your electrical installation before plugging it in. You may damage the appliance or cause injury to yourself if this is not the case.
  •  To avoid electric shocks, never use the appliance with wet hands or on a damp or wet surface. Avoid wetting the appliance’s electrical components. Never place the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or any other liquid.
  •  Do not use your appliance if it is not working properly or if it has been damaged. Please contact your approved service centre.
  •  Any maintenance other than routine cleaning and upkeep by customers must be carried out by an approved service centre.
  •  The power cord must not be placed near or come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance, sources of heat or sharp corners.
  •  Do not move or unplug the appliance by pulling on the cord.
  •  For your own safety, only use accessories and spare parts which are suitable for your appliance.
  •  To avoid electric shocks, ensure that your fingers do not come into contact with the plug pins when you plug in or unplug the appliance.
  •  Do not plug any other appliances into the same plug hole using adapters. Electric overload is likely to damage the appliance or cause an accident. Only use an extension lead after having checked that it is in perfect working order.
  •  For your safety, this appliance complies with the applicable standards and regulations – Low voltage directive – Electromagnetic compatibility – The environment – Materials in contact with food.
  •  Do not touch the whisks, mixers, the multi-blade mixer (depending on model) or the blender base when the appliance is in operation. Keep long hair and scarves etc. away from the accessories when in operation.
  •  Do not touch the beaters or mixers and do not insert any object (knife, fork, spoon, etc.) to avoid hurting yourself and causing an accident to others or damaging the appliance. You may use a spatula once the product is not in operation.
  •  To avoid all accidents, make sure that your hair, clothes and other objects do not get caught in the moveable parts of the appliance.
  •  Do not attach different accessories at the same time.
  •  Always use the accessory with the mixer positioned on a flat, clean and dry surface before connect the appliance.
  •  Always check that the speed selector is at “0” before turning the appliance on.
  •  To avoid damage to the appliance, never place the appliance or its accessories in the freezer, oven or microwave.
  •  The appliance and its accessories have been designed for preparing food products. They must not be used for mixing other products.

First use

  •  Before use, clean the bowl (F) beaters (B) and Dough hooks (C) using hot water and a little washing up liquid. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.
  •  Check that the speed selector (A2) is set to “0”.
  •  Press the Hinged arm release button (A4), move the head up and put the bowl as on Fig.1
  •  Insert the rod of each pair of beater (B) or Dough hooks (C) into the corresponding holes and lock into place. (Fig.2).
  •  Press Hinged arm release button (A4), press down and lock the head (Fig. 3)
  •  Connect the appliance: Your appliance has 5 speed levels and a “Pulse” button (A3). Intermittent operation (“Pulse”): using a succession of pulses can give you better control when preparing certain foods. Continuous operation: move the speed selector (A2) to the desired position from “1” to “5” depending on the food you are preparing. Don’t put more than 2.5L ingredients.
  •  After finishing, set the speed control (A2) to “0”.
  •  Disconnect.
  •  Press the Hinged arm release button (A4). Then press the ejection button (A1) to remove the beaters or hooks.

Warning: beware of long hair, jewellery and other items being caught into the gear near the hinge.

Storage cleaning
Do not store your appliance in a humid environment.

Cleaning

  •  Make sure that the appliance is unplugged.
  •  You can clean the bowl (F), beaters (B) and Dough hooks (C) under the tap with a sponge and washing up liquid or they can be put into the dishwasher.
  •  Never immerse the appliance (A) in water. Wipe with a dry cloth or wet brush.

What to do if you appliance does not work?

Check:

That it is plugged in correctly. That the accessories are correctly locked. The position of the speed selector (A2): turn it to position “0” and then select the desired speed again. Your appliance still does not work? Contact an approved service centre (see list in last page of this booklet).

End-of-life electrical or electronic products
The packaging is comprised exclusively of materials that present no danger for the environment and which may therefore be disposed of in accordance with the recycling measures in force in your area. For disposing of the appliance itself, please contact the appropriate service of your local authority.

Think of the environment first!
Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or recycled. Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.

OBH Nordica guarantees this product against any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship during 2 years within Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, starting from the initial date of purchase or delivery date. This manufacturer’s commercial guarantee covers all costs related to re-storing the proven defective product so that it conforms to its original spe-cifications, through the repair or replacement of any defective part and the necessary labour. At OBH Nordicas choice, a replacement product may be provided instead of repairing a defective product. OBH Nordicas sole obligation and your exclusive resolution under this guarantee are limited to such repair or replacement.

Conditions & Exclusions
OBH Nordica shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase. The defective product may be returned to the store of purchase. This guarantee applies only for products purchased and used for domestic purposes and will not cover any damage which occurs as a result of misuse, negligence, failure to follow OBH Nordica instructions, or a modification or unauthorised repair of the product, faulty packaging by the owner or mis-handling by any carrier. It also does not cover normal wear and tear, mainte-nance or replacement of consumable parts, or the following:

  •  using the wrong type of water or consumable
  •  mechanical damages, overloading
  •  damages or poor results specifically due to wrong voltage or frequency as stamped on the product ID or specification
  •  ingress of water, dust or insects into the product
  •  scaling (any de-scaling must be carried out according to the instructions for use)
  •  damage as a result of lightning or power surges
  •  damage to any glass or porcelain ware in the product
  •  accidents including fire, flood, etc
  •  professional or commercial use

Consumer Statutory Rights
OBH Nordica’s commercial guarantee does not affect the Statutory Rights a consumer may have or those rights that cannot be excluded or limited, nor rights against the retailer from which the consumer purchased the product. This guarantee gives a consumer specific legal rights, and the consumer may also have other legal rights which vary from Country to Country. The consumer may assert any such rights at his sole discretion.
