Product Information

Specifications

  • Model: E2425H Monitor

  • Non-volatile components:

    • System EEPROM: U6/U603, 16Kbit, for storage system setting

    • System Flash ROM: U5/U601, 4M/8Mbit, for storage system
      firmware

    • VGA EDID EEPROM: U2/U201, 2kbit, for storage VGA EDID data

  • Memory: DDR4, 2667 MHz

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Handling Non-volatile Components: Handle
non-volatile components with care as they retain data even after
power loss. Do not attempt to modify or remove these
    components.

  2. Power Loss Caution: Be cautious of primary and
secondary power loss as they can result in data loss. Primary power
loss destroys user data on DDR4 memory, while secondary power loss
affects system configuration and time-of-day information.

  3. Remedial Action: If data needs to be erased
from non-volatile components, follow the specific remedial action
outlined in the manual to prevent accidental data loss.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What happens if primary power loss occurs?

A: Primary power loss, such as unplugging the power cord and

removing the battery, results in the destruction of all user data
on the DDR4 memory.

Q: How does secondary power loss impact the system?

A: Secondary power loss, like removing the on-board coin-cell

battery, destroys system data related to the system configuration
and time-of-day information.

Q: Can non-volatile components be modified?

A: Non-volatile components, such as the System EEPROM, System

Flash ROM, and VGA EDID EEPROM, should not be modified to avoid
data loss.

Statement of Volatility Dell E2425H Monitor

CAUTION: A CAUTION indicates either potential damage to hardware or erasure of data and tells you how to avoid the problem.

The E2425H Monitor contains both volatile and non-volatile components. Volatile components erase their data immediately after power is removed from the component. Non-volatile components continue to retain their data even after power is removed from the component. The following non-volatile components are present on the E2425H Monitor system board.

Remedial action (action necessary to erase data)
Part place on Interface Board, it has hardware/software write protected.
Part place on Interface Board, it has hardware/software write protected.

CAUTION: All other components on the system board erase data if power is removed from the system. Primary power loss (unplugging the power cord and removing the battery) destroys all user data on the memory (DDR4, 2667 MHz). Secondary power loss (removing the on-board coin-cell battery) destroys system data on the system configuration and time-of-day information.
