A guide to internet on the move
Stay connected wherever your adventure takes you!

Celebrating 60 years of design, manufacture & Innovation!
How it all started – Brief History.

A new career and business success came at the flick of a switch for Reg Clark. Not that it was instant, but when he flicked on his TV Set on the evening of Thursday 19th September 1955, the first picture from the brand new Independent Television Authority filled the Screen. Nobody else in the area was able to receive the new commercial station because the distance was too great and although at least one TV dealer tried, he was not successful.

Mr Clark, who at the time was a Sales
Representative for Symingtons Soup, decided to take up the challenge! Knowing very little about TV reception or aerials, Mr Clark went down to the local radio show with a ruler and pen and took away some measurements of an aerial and built a prototype. The aerial was hoisted up above his existing Norwich aerial and bingo, transmissions from over 100 miles away could be viewed!

Established in 1964, by founder Mr Clark, Maxview Ltd started life as a small company on the outskirts of Kings Lynn, Norfolk. With the support of our customers, we have grown in strength over the years and become the leading UK manufacturer of terrestrial, satellite and more recently internet-based entertainment products.

To this day, we continue to be proud of our family run business. Allan Clark Director said: “We are very happy to be celebrating 60 years and continue to innovate with further internet systems providing internet TV connectivity wherever your adventure takes you!”
A big thank you to all our dealers and customers who have supported us over 60 years, we wouldn’t be here without you!

Internet Connection on the Move

Maxview-Roam-4G-5G-Wi-Fi-And-Tv-System-\(1\)

Internet connection, especially whilst travelling, is often relied on for checking the weather, researching places to stay, visit and eat. Keeping up to date with family and friends through social media and emails to simply keeping the kids entertained on journeys and rainy days. The internet has fast become a necessity to our daily lives.
Smartphones and other devices can provide access to these services but for many can prove unreliable for coverage and speeds required.

People with Smart TV’s at home often wish to transfer the same viewing experiences into their vehicle so when they are away from home they don’t miss their favourite Netflix series, they can watch their favourite film on Prime video or can simply catch up on the weekly soaps or favourite TV programme at a convenient time via BBC iPlayer or ITV HUB.

All subject to country and local contract.

The Problem…
Poor 4G/5G and Wi-Fi signal on your travels?
Internet connection on your adventure can often be disappointing and intermittent. Often the 4G/5G signal on your phone is weak or even non- existent as you venture further into remote and rural locations. Even with the campsite Wi-Fi the bandwidth can become congested with many like-minded users. The result is a poor and slow connection and often just browsing the internet is a chore and streaming your favourite TV show is not even an option.

The Solution…
Maxview Roam, a powerful mobile 4G/5G and Wi-Fi solution…

Maxview-Roam-4G-5G-Wi-Fi-And-Tv-System-\(3\)

All Maxview Roam variants use a powerful external roof mounted antenna and an internal powerful router. The solution is a reliable and secure Wi-Fi hotspot for your vehicle. The Maxview solution is unique as the Roam helps you get better internet in two ways.

4G/5G Signal
The Roam is primarily designed and optimised to use 4G/5G mobile data in order to create a reliable Wi-Fi hotspot. Using the powerful Roam Antenna, it can often pick up usable 4G, 5G signals where your phone can’t.

Wi-Fi Source
Where a direct Wi-Fi source is available, the Roam can also be used to connect to an existing Wi-Fi hotspot. This secondary function ensures SIM card data is only used when necessary. Either way the Maxview Roam has you covered to maximise your internet connection on your adventure.

Perfect for you!
We have a range of Roam & Roam Combo to ensure we have the perfect system depending on your usage, application and budget. Antenna Types Explained

4×4 MIMO vs 2×2 MIMO
With 4 data streams the 4×4 MIMO Antenna can increase 4G & 5G speeds by up to 100% compared to a typical 2×2 MIMO antenna.

This makes the 4×4 MIMO Antenna the perfect partner for the Roam 5G Router.

Please note: The 4×4 MIMO Antenna comes with 4 x SMA Cables. Where, as a typical 2×2 MIMO Antenna comes complete with 2 SMA cables as standard.
Please reference Images 1-3 on the opposite page.
MIMO stands for Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output.

Campervan Antenna Type
Designed specifically with campervans and panel vans in mind, it has a much smaller footprint. This allows the Antenna not take up precious space on the roof of your vehicle, and will also fit in between or on the ridges of ridged style roofs. In addition it is ideal for pop top applications.

Due the compact size the Campervan Antenna isn’t available in a 4×4 MIMO option.

Step 2. Choose your roof mounting method
With the Roam range you have a choice of mounting options. Allowing you to have flexible positions to suit your vehicle and application.

*All Routers come with a free 5GB Broadband Go SIM Card. The SIM Card is enabled for 5G with selected networks only, with more networks to follow. See opposite for further details.
**5G technology is still being deployed across Europe, and is not yet available in all areas. If there is no 5G coverage at a given location, the Roam 5G will connect to a 4G network and still provide fast and reliable mobile internet.

Step 4. Choose a SIM Card package

The Roam models are designed to work with any data service provider so you are free to use whatever network works best for you! You can use your provider if you already have one in place alternatively if you are choosing a network provider for your Roam it’s worth considering coverage for intended travel alongside the best deals and usage. If you travel to Scotland, EE’s coverage is regarded superior, whilst Vodafone proves popular for those travelling into Europe. The Three network is generally considered to offer competitive deals.

Please check limitations of your network provider and Data SIM, especially when travelling abroad, the number of days abroad, usage, restrictions and roaming charges. It is always a good idea, when travelling abroad to carry a spare SIM which doesn’t have a shelf life or expire if not used.

**Free 5GB loaded SIM Card with every Roam!***
Maxview have partnered with Broadband Go to provide a free, multi-network SIM Card with your new Roam Mobile Internet product. The SIM can connect to EE™, 02™, THREE™ and Vodafone™ in the UK, as well as 90+ networks in Europe. This means that if the SIM cannot connect to a particular network, it will automatically switch to a different one, helping you stay connected wherever your adventure takes you. Your 5GB of FREE data is equivalent to 10 hours of TV streaming, 15 hours of video chat or 100 hours of music.

BroadbandGo Benefits

  • Works in UK and Europe
  • Manage your account and usage in the BBGo app
  • No contracts

Please Note:
The Broadband Go SIM Card is provided with no obligation and no purchase necessary. If you do not wish to use it, simply remove it from your router. Furthermore, there is no commitment to sign up for a Broadband Go package even if you do choose to use the 5GB of free data.

Easy Set Up

Maxview-Roam-4G-5G-Wi-Fi-And-Tv-System-\(34\)

New feature!

What is MAXSPEED?
Allows you to configur e your router to maximise connection speed, or coverage at the press of a button.

How does MAXSPEED work?
Your router is able to connect to a cell tower using a number of different ‘bands’, covering various frequencies. Some of these bands are great for high speeds, but have limited range, others can travel a long way from a cell tower, but aren’t as fast. MaxSpeed can choose which bands to use without having to get into complicated configuration settings of the router. If speed is important, set it to ‘Speed’ to ensure you are always connected to the fastest bands. If you are in a very rural location, or a busy  place like a festival, set it back to ‘Coverage’ to use whichever bands are available.

Roam Combo Range – 1 Antenna, 2 applications!

Our innovative new Roam Combo combines 5G*/4G internet connectivity with Terrestrial (Freeview™) reception in one antenna. The Roam Combo saves all important roof space, allows for quicker and simpler installation, with only one roof hole required. Available with 3 different routers to suit all performance requirements and budgets, including the new Roam 5G. The antenna is also available in white or grey to suit the style of your vehicle.

Maxview-Roam-4G-5G-Wi-Fi-And-Tv-System-\(36\)

See page 14 for model information.
*Dependant on model.

How does a Roam Combo work?
The Roam Combo combines TV reception and Internet connectivity by using two independent antennas carefully arranged in the same housing. This gives you all the normal functionality of the Maxview Roam range (pages 5 – 11), and the TV reception of a Maxview Gazelle Pro. The internet antenna connects to your router and creates a WiFi hotspot in your vehicle, whereas the TV antenna connects to the included 2 output TV Signal Booster.
