of the product. Make sure you have fully read and understood the instructions
in this manual before installing or using the product. Keep this manual for
future use.

Service and warranty
If you need service or information regarding your product, please contact our
customer service at service@kitchenbrothers.nl.
We provide a 2-year warranty on our products. Customer must be able to show proof of purchase when claiming warranty. Product defects must be reported to us within 2 years from the date of purchase. Please note that the warranty does not apply: for damage caused by improper use or repair; for parts subject to wear and tear; for defects known to the customer at the time of purchase; for defects caused by the customer’s own fault, for damage caused by third parties.
1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing a KitchenBrothers product! Please always follow the instructions for safe usage.
1.1 Intended use
A kettle is intended only for heating or boiling water. It is not intended for
heating other liquids. A kettle heats water using an electric heating element.
The supplier is released from liability for any injury or damage caused by using the product beyond its intended use. Any modification of the product may affect your safety and warranty.

1.5 Contents of package
When receiving your shipment, make sure that the contents are consistent with the packing list. Notify your distributor of any missing items. If the equipment appears to be damaged, file a claim immediately with the carrier and notify your distributor at once, giving a detailed description of any damage. Save the damaged parts and packing container to substantiate your claim.

Before use, read the manual and safety information carefully. The supplier is
not responsible for failure to follow the safety information on the use and
handling of the product or damage to property or personal injury.
Always observe the following precautions when using ‘the Electric Kettle’,
hereinafter referred to as ‘the product’.
2.1 General
- If this is your first time using the product, it is important to read the manual and instructions carefully.
- If the product is malfunctioning, dropped or damaged, do not use the product and consult our customer service.
- Before each use, check the parts and accessories for any damage or wear (cracks/ breakage) that may adversely affect performance and, if so, replace them with original or manufacturer-recommended parts and accessories.
- Do not use accessories not offered by the supplier. They may pose a danger to the user and damage the product.
- Use the product only for the purposes indicated in this manual.
- Do not disassemble, repair or restore the product. Doing so may cause damage to the product. For your own safety, these parts should only be replaced by authorized service personnel. Always send the product to a service center for repairs to prevent damage and personal injury.
- Be aware of the risks and consequences associated with improper use of the product. Misuse of the product may result in personal injury and damage to the product.
- Before first use, remove all packaging material and any stickers.
- The outside of the product may become hot when the product is in use. So be alert when touching the outside!
- The product is only suitable for indoor use. Do not use the product outdoors. This may result in damage to the product.
- The product is intended for domestic and commercial use such as; in staff kitchens; in retail stores; in offices and other work environments; by customers in hotels, motels and other residential environments; in bed & breakfast environments; on farms.
- Due to residual heat, the heating element remains hot after use. Do not touch the hot surface. Doing so may result in personal injury.
2.2 Persons
- If burns occur, immediately run lukewarm water over the affected body part. Do not stop to remove clothing and seek medical attention quickly.
- The product should not be used by children under 8 years of age. Use of the product is permitted only when a supervisor is present and responsible for the safety of the user.
- The product may be used by children 8 years of age and older, provided that they are properly supervised and instructed in the safe use of the product and understand its potential dangers.
- The product may be used by people with physical or mental disabilities, provided that they are properly instructed and informed on the safe use of the product and understand its potential hazards.
- Keep the product and cord out of the reach of children and pets.
- To avoid electric shock, do not allow pets or small children to chew on the power cord.
- Do not allow children to play with the product. Use and store the product out of the reach of children.
2.3 Use

Always place the product on a stable, firm and level surface.

The product becomes hot when it is on. Do not use the product if you are sensitive to heat. Do not touch the hot parts of the product. Use only the handle or knob.

Wait for the product to cool down before cleaning it.

Do not cover the product when it is on. Never place pillows or blankets on or against the product. This may cause a fire hazard, electric shock, personal injury or damage to the product.

Unplug the product when it is not on: when it is empty, when filling water, when not in use, or when moving or cleaning the product.

Connecting and disconnecting the power circuit should be done with dry hands on a dry surface when the product is turned off.

Hot steam comes out of the product when the water is boiling or has just boiled. Avoid any contact with this hot steam, you could get burned.

Do not use the product if the water tank is empty. This may cause damage to the heating elements.

The product is only suitable for heating water. Never use the product to heat other liquids (such as coffee, tea or alcohol).

Make sure that the water in the product is always between the minimum and maximum lines. If there is less water in it, the heating element may overheat. If there is more water in it, hot water will spray over the edge.

Be very careful when moving the product so that no hot water splashes out.
Always hold the product by the handle. -
Residual water in the product will not be drinkable the next day. Do not leave water in the product to avoid scaling.
2.4 Electronics
- The product should only be connected to a grounded 220-240V outlet.
- If the power fails during use, turn off the product immediately and unplug the product.
- If the surface of the product is cracked, turn off the product to avoid electric shock.
- Check both power cord and plug regularly for signs of damage or wear, and if there is any, do not use the product and have the power cord and/or plug replaced or repaired by authorized service personnel.
- Do not immerse the product, power cord or plug in water. If water does get inside or on the product, turn the product off immediately and contact our customer service department.
- Use and store the product so that the cables cannot be damaged.
- To avoid electric shock, do not use the product if you suspect the power cord or plug is damaged. A damaged power cord or plug should be repaired or replaced by a professional (an authorized distributor).
- Do not unplug the product by pulling the power cord. This may cause fire or electric shock.
- If black smoke comes out of the product, unplug the product immediately. Wait until the smoke is gone before removing the contents of the product and contact our customer service department.
- Do not leave the cable(s) hanging over the edge of a table or countertop.
- Do not place the cable(s) on hot surfaces or near oil.
- Do not tuck the cable(s) under rugs or blankets. Never lay the cable(s) in a walkway.
- Do not move the product by pulling the cord or twist the cord.
- Before connecting the product, make sure that the mains voltage indicated on the rating plate matches that of your mains supply.
- Make sure that you do not trip over the cable(s) and that the cable(s) are not kinked, twisted, or stuck.
- Do not leave the product unattended when in use. If you are not using the product for a long time, turn the product off and unplug it.
- Do not move the product when it is on. Always turn the product off before moving or cleaning it.
- Turn the product off and unplug the product when not in use or cleaning. Let the product cool down completely before cleaning or storing the product.
3. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
3.1 Before first use
Before using the product for the first time, clean it thoroughly (see also
Chapter 5):
- Clean the exterior with a damp cloth.
- Boil water (see chapter 3.2).
- Throw away the boiled water without drinking it.
- Rinse the inside of the product with fresh water.
- The product is now ready for use.
3.2 Heating water
- Plug the base into a grounded outlet.
- Remove the product from the base.
- Press the button on the handle to open the lid.
- Fill the product with drinking water between the MIN line and the MAX line.
- Close the lid and put the product back on the base.
- Press the on/off button to boil the water.
- The product automatically turns off when the water has boiled. You can also interrupt heating the water at any time by pressing the on/off button.
- You can now pour the water carefully in an container suitable for hot liquids.
- Unplug the product after use. Do not leave water in the product to prevent scaling.
ATTENTION!
- Burn hazard from hot steam and hot water. Be very careful when moving the product so that hot water does not splash out. Always hold the product by the handle.
- Always close the lid before turning on the product. If the lid is open, the product will not work properly and there is a risk of injury.
3.3 Overheating protection
The product is equipped with an automatic shutdown to prevent overheating of
the heating elements. In the event of overheating, the heating elements will
automatically shut off. If this happens, let the product cool down for about
20 minutes before using it again.
To prevent overheating:
- Descale the product regularly (see chapter 5).
- Only turn on the product when enough water is in it (between the MIN line and the MAX line).
4. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the following problems occur while using the product, refer to the table below to find a solution. If the problems cannot be solved using these options, please contact our customer service.
5. MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
ATTENTION!
- Never immerse the product in water.
- Make sure that the power points in the center of the base and in the bottom of the product always remain dry.
5.1 Cleaning the product
- Unplug the product from the power outlet.
- Remove the product from the base and let it cool down.
- Open the lid and rinse the inside with tap water.
- If necessary, descale the product (see section 5.3).
- Wipe the base and power cord with a slightly damp cloth. Always ensure that the plug remains completely dry.
- Wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth.
- Dry all parts thoroughly with a dry cloth. Then allow the parts of the product to dry naturally for about 30 minutes.
5.2 Cleaning the filter
- Grasp the top of the filter and pull it upwards.
- Clean the filter with clean water.
- Dry the filter thoroughly before replacing it.
5.3 Descaling
Depending on your water hardness, the product should be cleaned regularly. If
the product is not descaled regularly, the temperature control will not work
as well, which can lead to energy loss and overheating of the heating element.
Fill the product with 0.5 liter of cold water and add the juice of a lemon.
- Fill the product with 0.5 liter of cold water and add the juice of a lemon.
- Bring the mixture to a boil (see section 3.2).
- Allow the mixture to soak for 15 minutes.
- Rinse the mixture away.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4.
- Rinse the inside well with clear tap water.
6. STORAGE
Store the product in a clean and dry place. Do not store the product in extreme high or extreme low temperatures.
7. DISPOSAL AND RECYCLE
Think about the environment and contribute to a cleaner living environment! You can contact your local council for all information on disposal options for discarded products.
7.1 Disposal
At the end of its life, do not dispose of the product with normal household waste, but hand it in at a government designated collection point for recycling.
Dispose of the packaging and accessories in accordance with the environmental regulations in force in your local council. Pay attention to the symbols on the different packaging materials and – if necessary – dispose of them separately. The packaging materials are marked with letters and numbers: 1-7: plastic, 20-22: paper and cardboard, 80-98 composite materials.
7.2 Electric appliance
The symbol shown here with the crossed-out garbage can indicates that this
product is subject to European Directive (EU) 2012/19/EU. This directive
states that at the end of its service life, you must not dispose of this
product with normal household waste, but hand it in at a government designated
collection point for recycling.
