  9. VIDEO + AUDIO IN — RCA Composite video and L/R audio input from video source device such as VHS. Yellow = video, white = audio left channel, red = audio right channel.

Note: For some VHS video sources a SCART adapter may be required as an output connector. Please use the SCART adaptor provided with an RCA cable connection. Please make sure the SCART is switched to OUTPUT

  1. HDMI OUT — Connect to TV or monitor to display video with HDMI Cable. (HDMI Cable is not included.)

USB — Plug USB drive to save recorded video files. Note:  Please do not plug USB drive and Micro SD card at the same time. Supports FAT and NTFS formats, does not support exFAT. The maximum storage size supported is 64GB.

DC — Connect to 5V DC power with USB-C to USB-A cable. (Power adapter is not included.)

Note:  Ensure the output voltage from the USB port or adaptor is 5V/2A. Power voltage greater than 5V may damage the device.

  1. Micro SD card — Plug Micro SD card to save recorded files.

Note:  Please do not plug USB drive and Micro SD card at the same time. Supports FAT and NTFS formats, does not support exFAT. The maximum storage size supported is 64GB.

  1. Record Button — Press to record video, press again to stop and save file.

Note:  Please press the button to stop the recording first before unplugging the USB Drive or SD Card, failure to do this will cause the recorded file to be damaged.

  1. RECORDING LED – The red recording indicator light, it will flash for a few seconds when the USB drive or Micro SD card is inserted and then stays on. This means USB drive or Micro SD card is ready. It flashes when recording. It will be off for few seconds and then reactivate when recording stopped. If you remove the USB drive or Micro SD card, the indicator light will be off. .
  2. POWER LED — Flashing a few seconds after connect power DC, then stays green.

Record Video

You will preview the video on TV or monitor when all connections are ready, press RECORD button to record video, and the REC LED will flash in red to show it is recording.
Press the RECORD button again to stop recording, REC LED will be off for few seconds then light on in red. This means recorded video has been saved in Micro SD card or USB drive successfully.

Recorded Files

You will be able to connect a USB drive or Micro SD card to your computer and check the recorded video file after you stop recording. It is named Encode_1.mp4. Each recording/stopping operation will create a different recording file: Encode_1, Encode_2, Encode_3… etc.
The maximum size of each file is about 1.95GB. When you record a video over 1.95GB, VGB400 will split it into multiple files, for example: If you record a long video by one click, you will see 2 or 3 files: Encode_1.mp4, Encode_1_1.mp4, Encode_1_2.mp4… and so on.
If you want to reset the file saving name to start from Encode_0, please press and hold the record button for a while before powering on the device, and then plug in the USB-C power jack to power the device, after 3 seconds, the file number will start from 0.
Note:  Sometimes you may find that some recorded videos have problems, such as skipping frames and distortion. It may be caused by the fact that the USB drive or Micro SD card you are using is in NTFS format and you did not click “Safely Remove Device” when disconnected from the computer. If this problem keeps happening, you can also try formatting it to FAT32.

Warranty

This product is guaranteed for twelve months from the date of the original purchase. In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer available or repairable.
This warranty is subject to the following conditions:

  • The warranty is only valid within the country where the product is purchased.
  • The product must be correctly installed and operated in accordance to the instructions given in this user manual.
  • The product must be used solely for domestic purposes.
  • The warranty only covers the main unit, and does not cover the accessories.
  • The warranty does not cover the damage caused by misuse, negligence, accident and natural disaster.
  • The warranty will be rendered invalid if the product is resold or has been damaged by inexpert repairs. The manufactures disclaim any liability for incidental or consequential damages.
  • Please consult our customer adviser before returning any product; we are not responsible for any unexpected product returns.
  • Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the purchase receipt.

The warranty is in addition to, and does not diminish, your statutory or legal rights.
