3.1 Interchangeable Plugs

Quick Start Guide
DA900D

1. Connect an antenna to the DA900D.
2. Plug the DAQ00Dinto a mains power socket using the supplied power adaptor.
3. Switch the DA900Don using the remote control.
4. Use the arrow buttons to select language.
5. Press to confirm.
6. Use the arrow buttons to select country.
7. Press to begin auto search.

Note: If you want to exit auto search, press , then Use < ◄ > or < ► > to select YES or NO.

Please note that signal strength in some areas may not be sufficient to support TV Reception using a Portable Aerial. The distance from the closest transmitter and other factors such as surrounding buildings and weather may affect signal strength. We advise that you scan for channels with a Rooftop Aerial when first using the product.

Part Names and Functions

*NOTE: The standby power indicator lights red when the device is in standby mode and connected to an external power source. When the device is switched on, the light will be green.

4.3 Key Function

4.4 Remote Control
4.4.1 Remote Button Functions

4.4.2 Use of the Remote Control
Please remove the PVC packaging before using the remote control for the first time.

1. Do not expose the remote control to direct sunlight or very strong / bright light.
2. Do not drop or step on the remote control or subject it to shocks.
3. Keep the remote control away from extreme heat and humid environments.
4. Keep the remote control away from water.

◼ Operating range

1. The IR range of the remote control is 5 meters.
2. The IR sensor on the remote control should be aimed directly at the sensor on the front of the device. It may not be possible to operate the device if there are obstacles between it and the remote control.
3. The receiving angle is +30°.

◼ Replacing the battery
If the remote control does not function or if the operating range becomes reduced, replace the old battery with a new one.

Pull out the battery holder and remove the old battery.| Insert the new battery into the battery holder with the + side facing upwards.| Replace the battery holder.

Connection and Setup

5.1 Connecting the power adaptor

1. Connect the power adaptor to the DC IN 12V socket.
2. Plug the power adaptor into the mains power socket.

5.2 Connecting headphones
Connect your headphones to the headphone socket.

*Note:
When headphones are connected to the device, no sound will be played through the speakers.

Headphone and Earphone Safety

1. Listening through headphones or earphones at high volume for prolonged periods can cause damage to your hearing.
2. Please be considerate to others and use closed back headphones or listen at low volume whilst in public.
3. If you are experiencing tinnitus, stop using headphones or listen only at a very low volume.
4. Even at a low volume, prolonged use of headphones or earphones can cause damage to your hearing.

5.3 Connecting to a Source Device via HDMI
Switch off the DA900D and source device before connecting or disconnecting any cables.

Switch off the DA900D and source device before connecting or disconnecting any cables.

Start up

6.1 Switching the device off or on
6.1.1 Switching on
Connect the device to the mains and wait 5 seconds. Then either press and hold the power button on the device for 1.5 seconds, or press the power button on the remote control to switch the device on.

6.1.2 Switch Power Off
Either press and hold the power button on the device for 1.5 seconds, or press the power button on the remote control to switch the device off.

6.2 Mode settings
Press repeatedly to select between the following modes:
DTV: Freeview TV, press to change
ATV: Analogue TV, press to change
HDMI: HDMI input, press to change
AV: AV input, press to change
Media Player: Media Player Mode, press to Switch it.

Digital TV

1. Connect an aerial to Antenna In.
2. Press , then use < ▼ > or to select DTV.
3. Press .

7.1 DTV Auto Search:

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ >and < ► > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight the ‘Country’.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change the country
5. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight ‘Auto Search’’.
6. Press

Note: If you want to exit auto search, press , then Use < ◄ > or < ► > to select YES or NO.

7.2 DTV Manual Search

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. . Use < ◄ >and < ◄ > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight the ‘DTV Manual Search’.
4. Press to enter manual search settings.
5. Use < ◄ >and < ► > to select channel and frequency.
6. Press to confirm.

Note: The signal bar shows the signal quality. After a manual search, the DA900D plays new channels automatically.

7.3 DTV Channel Manager
Channel Manager allows the user to delete, move, favorite and skip channels.

1. Press

   to enter the main menu.

2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Channel’.

3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight ‘Channel Manager’.

4. Press to enter channel edit and use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight to channel

5. Press ‘RED’ to delete a channel.

6. Press ‘YELLOW’ and use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to move a channel, press to confirm.

7. Press ‘BLUE’ to skip a channel.

8. Press < or FAV> to add or remove a channel to or from your favorite list.
   Press

   to exit Channel Manager.

7.4 LCN (Logical Channel Number)
To switch LCN on or off:

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < ▲ > **and < ▼** > to highlight the ‘LCN’.
4. Press to switch the LCN on or off.

7.5 Channel Information
Press to view channel information:

Press again to show signal Strength and Quality:

7.6 Recall
Press to go back to the last watched channel.

7.7 Subtitles
Press to set Subtitle for subtitle settings.

1. Use < ▲ > or < ▼ > to select a language or switch off subtitles.
2. Press to confirm.

Primary and Secondary Subtitle Languages.

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘System’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select ‘Subtitle Language’, press <ENTER?> to enter.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change between your Primary and Secondary Subtitle language, use < ▲ > or < ▼ > to select one language, then press to return.

7.8 Teletext
Press to access teletext or red button content, if available.

7.9 AUDIO Language

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘System’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select ‘Audio Language’, press to enter.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select the Primary or Secondary audio language.
5. Use the arrow buttons to select a language then press to return.

7.10 EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
Press to access the EPG.

7.11 TV and Radio Modes
Press < or TV/R> to switch between TV and Radio modes.

7.12 Record
Connect a USB storage device with sufficient free space for the intended recording, then press < or REC> to start recording.
Press <◼> to stop recording.

7.13 Schedule Recording

1. Press to access the EPG.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select the channel you wish to record.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select the desired program.
4. Press to enter the recording settings.
5. Press ‘OK’ to schedule the recording using the default time settings.

Note: To enter the date and time manually, change the mode from ‘Auto’ to ‘Once’, ‘Every day’ or ‘Weekly’ then input the start time and the finish time.

7.14 Reminder

1. Press to access the EPG.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select the desired channel.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select the program you wish to be reminded about.
4. Press to enter the reminder settings.
5. Press OK to schedule the reminder using the default time settings.

Note: To set the reminder manually, use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select the setting and use < ◄ > and < ► > to change the time.

Analogue TV

1. Connect an aerial to Antenna In.
2. Press , then use < ▲ >  or < ▼ > to select ATV.
3. Press .

8.1 ATV Auto Search

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight the ‘Country’.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change the country.
5. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight ‘Auto Search’.
6. Press to confirm.

8.2 ATV Manual Search

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Channel’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to highlight the ‘ATV Manual Search’.
4. Press to enter manual search settings.
5. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select options.
6. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change or start search.

Media Player

1. Connect a USB storage device
2. Press and use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select ‘Media Player’, press to confirm.
3. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select a media format.
4. Select USB SD and press .
5. Use the arrow buttons to select a file and press to confirm.

Display Settings

You can adjust picture settings in any mode.

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Display’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select options.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change the settings.
5. Press to return.

Audio Settings

You can adjust audio settings in any mode.

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Audio’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select options.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to change the settings.
5. Press to return.

Time Settings

You can change time settings in any mode.

1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘Time’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ >  to select options.
4. Use < ◄ > and < ► >  to change the settings.
5. Press to retum.

NOTE: In DTV the time is set automatically.

System Settings

You can set system settings in any mode.

1. Press to enter main menu.
2. Use < ◄ > and < ► > to select ‘System’.
3. Use < ▲ > and < ▼ > to select options.
4. Press or use < ◄ > and < ► > to change.

NOTE: Audio and subtitle language settings are only available in DTV mode.

13.1 Factory Reset
To reset to factory settings select factory reset from the system menu then press < ◄ > to confirm or < ► > to cancel.

Battery Compartment

Fully charged 2400mAh batteries supports playback for up to 2.5~3 hours.
The device will automatically charge batteries when connected to an external power source.

Caution:

• Fully charge the batteries before first use.
• Built-in lithium battery is not removable.
• Dispose of any used batteries in compliance with WEEE and other government regulations.

Troubleshooting

Problems listed below do not necessarily signify a fault with the unit. Please check this list before requesting repairs.

Use of an unauthorized power supply.
Press POWER on the remote to turn on the device, or press and hold POWER on the device for 1.5 seconds to turn it on.
No image| Check the channel selection. Scan for channels again.
Always rescan for channels in new locations.
No sound| Check the sound volume. If you are using earphones, test them on another item. Check the earphone cable is plugged into the earphone socket on the device. Incorrect TV Format
setting in Analogue TV mode. Set the device to factory default and then try again.
Picture freezing, and/or sound distorting| Signal may be too weak, please check the aerial. Try to use a proper roof top aerial or an amplified aerial.
No signal| Please check the aerial. Try to use a proper roof top aerial or an amplified aerial.
Dark Picture| Please adjust Brightness and/or Contrast settings.
Snowstorm| Motors/Trains/High Voltage Lines and Neon Lights may affect the signal.
Achromatic/Flashing/No Colour| Please adjust the Colour Settings.
Incorrect TV Format setting in Analogue TV mode.

In the unlikely event of any defect arising due to faulty materials or workmanship, the unit will be either replaced or repaired free of charge (where possible) during this period. An alternative product will be offered in case the product is no longer available or repairable.

• Any faulty product must be kept and returned in the original packaging with all the accessories and the original copy of the purchase receipt.

Please note:

1. ALCD display panel comprises a very large number of pixels and each pixel contains three sub-pixels – red, green and blue. Due to the complex manufacturing process, occasional pixel anomalies may occur. Pixel anomalies cannot be fixed or repaired and can happen at any stage in the LCD’s life. August products should not be deemed as faulty if there are no more than three bright and dark pixels respectively.

Portable TV Antennas included in the Box are for people to watch Freeview TV in areas where signal is strong. There may be difficulties in receiving signal with these Antennas in areas with weaker signal. August TVs should not be deemed as faulty if it can receive Freeview by connecting to a Digital Rooftop Antenna.
