Natures Composites 4×6 Modern Horizontal Privacy Full Gate

Product Usage Instructions:

Before You Begin:
Ensure proper ground clearance options are chosen according to NC’s patented system. Lay out the fence location with proper measurements and stake placements.

Tools Required

  • Phillips Screwdriver (No. 3)
  • Drill

Gate Assembly

Frame Assembly

  1. Insert the Horizontal T Frame into the Frame Extension to ensure a precise fit.
  2. Firmly press the two parts together until they fit completely.
  3. Place the assembled frame inside the U-Channel posts ensuring it is level and properly positioned.

T &G Board Assembly Inside Frame:

  1. The boards’ length should fit the inside of the gate frame.
  2. Start with the bottom and upper T&G board and end with the middle board as shown in the video.

Composite Posts Assembly:

  1. Place each post to enclose the frame ensuring precise measurements.

Secure the Gate Using the Screws:
Use the included screws to attach the frame to the post at each corner using a Phillips Screwdriver (No. 3).

Install Hinges and Latch:
Follow separate instruction guide for Hinges and Latch installation.

Hanging the Gate:
The gate can be hung on an NC 5×5 post or an existing post ensuring proper strength to support the weight of the gate.

Top Cap Installation:

  1. Slide the Top Cap into the Top Cap Routed space on the top of the U-Channel post.
  2. Fix into positions using one (1) 1-3/4 Composites Screw and a drill.
  3. Repeat for all U-Channel Posts.

Gate Post Support:

  1. Install 5×5 Post on the Ground ensuring proper depth for stability.
  2. Prepare the ground by digging 12-inch diameter holes.
  3. Contact local utility providers to confirm underground pipes and cables locations before digging.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

  • Verify the location of all underground utilities
    • Aids: Local building departments, utility companies, or utility location service at 811
  • Locate property line
  • Consult with HOA, if applicable, and follow CC&Rs Guidelines
  • Consult local and regional building codes
  • Obtain all necessary permits as required by building codes
  • Always wear appropriate safety equipment
  • Store product on a flat service in a dry place away from moisture

LAY OUT FENCE LOCATION

Gates are sold at 45.5″ wide, for a 48.6″ opening

  1.  Using stakes and a string line, mark out the fence location.
  2.  Locate gate placement and mark post hole locations for the gate posts accordingly. The Gate opening should be 48.6″ wide.
  3.  Mark the locations of corners and ends of the fence.
  4.  Mark locations of intermediate fence posts between ends, corners and gate posts. Post should be located no wider than 69″ (5.75′) apart for each fence panel.

TOOLS REQUIRED

Gate Assembly

  • Phillips Screwdriver (No. 3)

Gate Installation

  • 2 Torque Head Driver/Drill Bit

  •  Drill or Impact Driver
  • Tape Measure

Post 5×5 Installation

  • Wheelbarrow
  •  Post Hole Digger and Shovel
  • Level and String Line
  • Stakes or Markers

GATE ASSEMBLY

FRAME ASSEMBLY

  1.  Insert the “HORIZONTAL T FRAME” into the “FRAME EXTENSION” to ensure a precise fit.
  2.  Firmly press the two parts together until they fit completely together.
  3.  Place the assembled frame inside the U-Channel posts.
  4.  Make sure the frame is level and properly positioned.

COMPOSITE POSTS ASSEMBLY

  1. Place each post to enclose the frame. Measures in inches.

T &G BOARD ASSEMBLY INSIDE FRAME

  1.  The boards length will fit the inside of the gate frame.
  2.  Start with the bottom and upper T&G board and end with the middle board of as shown in the video.

SECURE THE GATE USING THE SCREWS (INCLUDED) INTO EACH CORNER

  1. Please use the included screw to attach the frame to the post to keep it fixed in place in each corner.

INSTALL HINGES AND LATCH

Follow separate instruction guide for Hinges and Latch.

HANGING THE GATE

  1. This gate can be hung on either an NC 5×5 post or an existing post. If hung on an existing post, it is recommended that the customer ensures the post has the necessary strength to support the weight of the gate.

GATE POST SUPPORT

INSTALL 5×5 POST ON THE GROUND

  1. Posts recommended to be 9 feet long to have 3 feet in the ground
  2. Prepare the ground to insert posts by digging 12 inches diameter holes.
  3. Make sure to check with your local utility providers to confirm where underground pipes and cables are before you start digging.

Post Burial Depth Recommendations

  • Bury one-third of the aboveground height of the post.
  • The hole for the footing should be three times the diameter of the post.
  •  Deeper holes are needed for unstable soil, windy weather, or gate posts.

CONNECTING FENCE PANEL TO 5×5 POSTS

Screw the U Chanel fence post to the 5X5 Post

  1.  Space screws evenly from top of U-Channel post to bottom to secure to 5×5 Post.

Bury the posts together
