Safety information

PLEASE KEEP ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!
Note: Glass breakage is not covered by the warranty!
The warranty and all warranty claims are restricted to the replacement of the product and do not extend to glass breakage. The warranty and all warranty claims become null and void when the product is used in any of the cases named under “Safety information”.
Warning: Risk of injuries – sharp blade. Wear protective gloves and goggles.
Keep out of the reach of children.
CAUTION! This product may not be used in motor vehicles! The product is not approved under the road traffic registration regulations! The product may be attached to the inside of the glazing only! The product may not be attached to heated glazing (e.g. glazing exposed to direct sunlight).
The product may not be used on the following base surfaces

  • circular, rounded, curved, coated, ribbed, or wired glazing or skylights
  • partially tinted glazing (outside tint of 20% or more per pane)
  • triple or quadruple insulation glazing
  • panes exceeding a side length of three metres
  • damaged or scratched glazing
  • stained glass or glazing with adhesive lettering or vinyl motifs
  • glass framed in concrete
  • broken panes or insulating glazing with damaged gaskets

ATTENTION! Risk of heat-induced breakage!
In general, there is a very small risk of heat-induced breakage on glass and glazing, but it cannot be ruledout completely. If this risk is to be minimised the productmust be attached in accordance with the operating instructions and the following information: – The edges of the pane must be smooth.
– The risk of breakage grows with the size of the pane.
Radiators and air conditioners
Please bear in mind that heat and cold sources can cause abrupt temperature fluctuations at local areas of glazing and so aggravate any thermal loads on the materials.
ATTENTION! Prevent the build-up of heat by installing additional internal shade systems.
The most common forms of internal shading are e.g. Venetian blinds, net curtains, roller shutters, screens, partitions attached to the inside of the glazing (over part or all of the glazed facade), stained glass, adhesive lettering, transfers, etc. Please avoid shading on the glaz ing cast by structural or natural elements because these can give rise to local temperature drops.
The most common forms of external shading are roof overhangs, neighbouring buildings, brise-soleils, external roller shutters, external Venetian blinds, pillars, columns, and natural elements (e.g. trees). The building’s altitude and the alignment of the glazing affect the thermal load. For example, glazing facing the south or sky can be subject to the greatest thermal load in the northern hemisphere.

Assembly

  • Before the product is attached the glazing must be examined for its suitability as a base surface for thermal insulation foils.

Inside mounting
Assemble the product as shown in the figures.

Required work tools:

  • cutter (included in scope of delivery)
  •  squeegee (included in scope of delivery)
  •  adhesive tape to remove the protective layer
  •  spray bottle with a solution of water and washing-up liquid (about one litre of distilled water and eight drops of washing-up liquid)
  • ruler
  1. Clean thoroughly the inside and outside of the glass surfaces taking the foil (see Fig. 1).
  2. Measure the size of the glass surface and carefully trim the foil (see Fig. 2). Make sure the trimmed foil fits.
  3. Spray the glass surface copiously with the solution of water and washing-up liquid (see Fig. 3). The glass surface may not dry when the foil is being attached.
  4. Attach an adhesive strip to both the front and back of the foil. You can then draw the base foil easily and cleanly off the tinting foil (see Fig. 4).
  5. Now moisten the adhesive film on the tinting foil with the solution of water and washing-up liquid (see Fig. 5).
  6. Place this wet adhesive side of the foil on the wet inside of the glass surface and push the foil into position (see Fig. 6).
  7. Using the squeegee squeeze the liquid in a horizontal direction from under the foil until there are no more air bubbles between the foil and the glass surface (see Fig. 7).

Removing the product
Detach the product from the glass surface at one corner, and carefully draw off the foil. Any adhesive residue can be removed with a standard glue remover.
Cleaning and care

  • Do not use aggressive cleaning or abrasive agents!
  • Once the adhesive film has dried (about forty-eight hours after the foil has been attached) the foiled surfaces can be cleaned with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
