Product Information

The NI RMC-8354 DVD R/W is a device designed for reading and writing DVDs. It is compatible with the NI RMC-8354 chassis and comes with the necessary components for installation.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Remove the top cover of the NI RMC-8354.
  2. Disconnect the SATA power and data connectors from the installed DVD ROM. Use the ejector handle to push the DVD ROM out of the chassis.
  3. Detach the two brackets from the DVD ROM and attach them to the DVD R/W.
  4. Remove the CDM-USATA-G board from the back of the DVD ROM and attach it to the DVD R/W.
  5. Insert the DVD R/W into the chassis and connect the SATA power and data cables.
  6. Replace the top cover of the NI RMC-8354.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

NI RMC-8354 DVD R/W

  • This guide explains how to install the NI RMC-8354 DVD R/W.
  • Follow these steps to install the NI RMC-8354 DVD R/W:
  1. Remove the NI RMC-8354 top cover.

  2. Remove the DVD ROM installed in the NI RMC-8354 by disconnecting the SATA power and data connectors and ejecting the DVD ROM from the chassis by pushing the ejector handle to the left and forward, as shown below.

  • Remove the two brackets shown below from the DVD ROM and attach them to the DVD R/W.

  • Remove the CDM-USATA-G board shown below from the back of the DVD ROM and attach it to the DVD R/W.

  • Insert the DVD R/W into the chassis and connect the SATA power and data cables.
  • Replace the NI RMC-8354 top cover.
