INSTALLATION
WARNING: This dryer cannot be mounted upside down.
Caution
- Two people are required lift this dryer.
- To avoid the risk of injury, do not lift the dryer by grasping any of the protruding parts such as the door, as this may damage the dryer.
- To avoid the risk of tripping, ensure all cords are away from high traffic areas.
- Check the dryer for any damage incurred before first use.
Before Installation
- Unpack the dryer but keep all packaging materials until you have ensured it is undamaged and in good working order. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach.
- Ensure you remove all packaging from the rear of the dryer.
- Wipe the inside of the drum thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any dust.
Positioning
- Place the dryer in a dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and direct sunlight.
- Do not position the dryer near a gas stove, cooker, heater, or grill as flames from the burners could damage the dryer.
- When the dryer is fitted under a work surface, allow 1.5cm space from each side of the dryer for air to exit the rear grill. This airflow is critical to condensing the water during drying.
- Consider the exhaust vent when determining a position to install the dryer. The hot air from a dryer can unnecessarily heat your house, cause problems with mold and create a potential safety risk.
- This dryer is not suitable for direct placement on top of a washing machine. If mounting above a top loader washing machine, allow sufficient room to open the lid.
Wall Mounting
One of the best ways to save space in your laundry room is to mount your dryer
on a wall using the mounting kit. The purpose of the mounting kit is to evenly
distribute the weight of the dryer to reduce the risk of damage to the dryer.
Wall Mounting Kit
Tools Required (Not Provided)
- Drill
- Phillips Head Screwdriver
- Spanner
Note: Use the supplied wall mounting kit to mount the dryer. Additional tools may be required for mounting onto a plaster or wood stud wall.
Mounting the Dryer
WARNING
- Never mount the dryer directly onto a plasterboard wall. The wall brackets must always be attached to the wall studs or an additional timber stud that is then attached to the wall studs. If you are unsure, consult a trade professional.
- Ensure the dryer is securely installed on the wall, failure to do so may result in serious injury, damage to appliance and death.
- Determine the location for installation and mark the wall bracket positions on the wall. If installing above a top loader washing machine, leave sufficient space to open the lid. A minimum of 70mm is needed between the top of the dryer and the ceiling.
- Open hanging holes on the top of the back cover using side cutters.
- Use the appropriate hardware for your surface to secure the wall brackets to the wall. If you are unsure of which hardware to use, consult a trade professional.
- Unscrew the x4 screws at the bottom of the back cover.
- Secure the spacers to the x4 screw holes.
- To install the exhaust connector, push the exhaust connector into the exhaust vent at the back of the dryer with the exhaust outlet in the direction required.
- With assistance, carefully mount the dryer on to the bracket.
- Once the dryer is installed, plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
OPERATION
Before Drying
- Before using the dryer, carry out the following checks to ensure the dryer is correctly installed and ready for use:
- Use a spirit level to ensure the dryer is well-balanced.
- Check there is no packaging inside the drum or on the surroundings of the dryer Ensure you also check the back of the dryer for any packaging.
- Open the door between loads the first few times you use the dryer to allow any odors to escape from the interior of the dryer.
- Do not overload the dryer. The maximum weight of clothing that can be dried efficiently in one load is 5kg.
- Ensure that the items to be dried do not have combustible materials or foreign objects (such as lighters, hair pins, or coins) inside the pockets.
- Close zippers, hooks, etc. to reduce snagging and tangling.
- To reduce creasing and tangling, and to help clothes dry evenly, shake clothes out and load them individually.
- For best results, load the dryer with similar fabrics that take a similar time to dry.
Care Instructions
Look for a care label on your clothes. This will tell you if they can be safely tumble-dried.
Programs
- Auto Dry (0-210mins): The dryer will use full heat to gently dry items. The weight of the clothes will determine the time it needs to run for.
- Sterilisation (35mins): The dryer will use full heat to gently dry items.
- Delicate Dry (0-210mins): Use this mode for delicate garments such as silk, nylon, linen, polyester, etc.
- Air Dry (40mins): In this mode, the dryer will generate cool air. This helps cool down the items that have just been put through heat and helps prevent smells and creasing. This program can also be used to air and refresh items (such as garments that have been stored for a long period of time).
Drying Clothes
- Open the door and place the items inside the drum.
- Close the door and ensure the items are not pressed against the door.
- Select the drying program depending on the weight and material.
- Start the machine.
- Remove the dried items from the drum when the program has finished.
Energy Saving
The dryer will automatically power off after 10 minutes of no user input.
Open Door Alarm
- If the door is opened during a drying program, the indicator will flash, and the buzzer will sound.
- Close the door to stop the alarm.
- Press the Start/Pause button to resume the drying program.
Notes
- The drying program will only resume is the door is closed within 1 minute. If the door is open for more than 1 minute, the drying program will restart.
- Do not dry rubber and rubber back articles and clothes or pillows fitted with rubber pads.
- Do not dry unwashed items in the dryer.
- Keep children away from this dryer.
CLEANING & CARE
Note
- Disconnect the power plug before performing cleaning or maintenance.
- To prolong the service life of your dryer, clean the filters regularly.
Cleaning the Interior and Exterior of the Dryer
- Wipe the exterior of the dryer with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh solvents, alcohol-based or abrasive detergents to clean the dryer.
- Do not immerse or directly wash the interior and exterior of the dryer with water.
- Do not use any type of spray cleaner when cleaning the interior of the dryer. If the drum becomes stained, clean it with a damp cloth.
- If cleaning the drum has left any residue in the dryer, remove it before next use.
Cleaning the Air Intake Filter
Caution! Hot Surface.
Do not touch the intake filter during the drying cycle due to the high temperature.
- It is recommended that the air intake filter be cleaned monthly depending on the usage of the dryer.
- To remove the air intake filter, hold the upper and lower ends of the air intake shroud and pull it outwards, as illustrated below.
- Remove the air intake filter inside the air intake shroud and carefully clean it with a soft brush.
- Re-assemble and push the air intake filter back in, until it clicks into place.
Cleaning the Lint Filter
The lint filter must be in place whenever the dryer is in operation. It is
recommended to clean the lint filter before each use.
-
To remove the lint filter, insert your fingers into the four holes that surround the exhaust vent shroud and pull out the filter assembly. The filter assembly consists of three parts: the exhaust vent shroud, the lint filter and the exhaust filter.
-
Separate the three parts (exhaust vent shroud, the lint filter and the exhaust filter) and use a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to carefully clean any lint off the lint filter and exhaust filter.
Note:
Take care not to damage the filters. -
After cleaning the lint filter, you must re-assemble the parts in the correct sequence (lint filter – exhaust filter – exhaust vent shroud), aligning the recesses in the center with the projection in the center of the drum. Ensure that the filter assembly is firmly inserted.
Note:
The filter fixed on the rear of the drum should be carefully cleaned with a
soft brush or vacuum.
