General Information
Your ADE electronic baby hanging scale is a quality product. In order to get the most accurate results please read and respect the instructions of the operating manual.
This symbol means: “Consult operating instructions”. Read the instructions for use carefully before use and keep them for future reference.
Installation of scale
Insert batteries
- Please use two 2 x CR2032 (lithium) batteries.
- Open the battery compartment on the back side of the scale by loosening the fixing screws carefully.
- Insert the batteries according to the pole markings (+ -), with the + pole of both batteries pointing towards the bottom of the battery compartment.
- Please ensure that the battery compartment cover is in place and secured via the fixing screws before starting up the scale.
- Please observe the valid legal regulations in your country, when disposing used batteries.
Function keys
There are 4 function keys on this scale.
- Key ON/OFF to start or switch off the scale.
- Key HOLD to activate / deactivate the automatic hold function.
- Key SET to change the weighing mode from kg / lb / oz or to check the room temperature.
- Key TARE to reset the scale to zero.
Operation
Weighing
To achieve a reliable result, make sure the scale is placed in a vertical position and no load is hanging at the hook.
- Press the ON/OFF key to start the scale. During the automatic zero and function test you will see the indication
8888´ in the display before0.00´ will come up in kg mode. - You may now use the scale. Make sure to use a weighing trouser or cloth supplied as optional extra by ADE.
- To switch the scale off press the ON/OFF key again. Additionally, the scale is equipped with an automatic shut off function. Shutting down the scale after 60 seconds without use.
Tare function
Choosing this function, you may weigh the baby together with additional objects (e.g. nappy, vest etc.) and the weighing trouser or cloth without influencing the net weight result of the baby.
- Press ON and wait for `0.00´ indication on the display.
- Hang the weighing cloth or trouser including other possible objects (nappy, vest etc.) at the hook.
- Press TARE to reset the scale to zero.
- Remove all weights from the hook. The scale will now display the weight as negative value and will hold the weight automatically.
- Place the baby in the weighing trouser or cloth and hook it up to the scale. Press the HOLD key to restart the weighing function. The scale will show the next weight of the baby.
- To cancel all values, press TARE again or switch off the scale.
Change unit
Switch the scale on and press the SET key short in order to change the units
from kg into lb or oz. The scale will indicate the chosen units in the
display.
Displaying the temperature
Switch the scale on and press the SET key and keep it pressed until the
temperature is displayed. Press the SET key again to return into the weighing
mode. The temperature is shown in °C only.
Hold function
The scale is equipment with an automatic hold function. The weight of the baby
will automatically be locked in the display during each single weighing cycle.
You can take the baby off the scale and read the weight on the display for 60
seconds. In order to unlock the weight, press the HOLD key again. The scale
will fully automatically re-weight if the baby is still placed at the scale or
will show zero.
Warning signals and advices
If LOBAT is displayed, please replace the batteries. Always use two new
batteries.
In case scale will not be used for a long period of time take the batteries
out to protect the scale and secure a long lifetime.
In case the scale does not show `0.00´ after having been started, press TARE
to find the zero point.
Cleaning and maintenance
Safety
- Your ADE baby hanging scale is a precision instrument. Handle with care. Do not drop or let heavy object fall onto it.
- Never leave the baby unattended hanging in the weighing trouser.
- Make sure the scale is not getting wet or stored in humid places. Fluids penetrating the scale can severely damage the electronic parts.
- Make sure only discharged batteries respective batteries with isolated poles will be disposed as otherwise short circuits may occur. Never dispose batteries in fire, as they may leak or explode.
Cleaning
For cleaning just use a damp cloth or common disinfection products. Do not use
any aggressive cleaning fluids. Make sure no water or cleaning fluid
penetrates the scale.
Disposal
Electronic devices are no domestic waste.
If the scale is out of use the responsible waste disposal association will be
glad to advise you on the measures necessary to dispose of it properly.
In case of faulty results
- Make sure batteries are inserted correctly.
- Make sure you are in the weighing mode you selected (kg / lb / oz).
- Do not load the scale before the display shows `0.00´.
Warranty – Liability
ADE will repair or replace this product within a period of 2 years from date
of delivery applying to defects occurred due to poor material or workmanship
(presentation of invoice is necessary). All moveable parts batteries, cables,
mains units, rechargeable batteries etc. – are excluded. Warranty does not
include natural wear, damages caused by incorrect or negligent handling,
overuse or unsuitable or improper storage. The cost of transport will be borne
by the customer should the equipment be located anywhere other then the
customer’s premises. In the event of transport damage, claims under warranty
can be accepted subject to using the complete original packaging and the
equipment secured the way it was packed and secured originally. All the
packaging should therefore be retained.
Any warranty claim will be rejected if the equipment is opened by persons not
authorized expressively by ADE to do so.
Customers abroad are kindly requested to contact their local dealer for any
warranty claim, customer service and spare parts.

standards. They
conform to the regulations of the EC-directives listed below:
- EMC Directive 2014/30/EC
- RoHS Directive 2011/65/EC in the currently valid versions.
This declaration loses its validity if modifications are made to the scale
without our approval.
