NOTE
- Your Balance bike is equipped with two quick clamp mechanisms to facilitate installation and adjustment of the seat and handlebar height. Failure to properly install this quick clamp on your bicycle may cause the seat or handlebar to become detached from the bicycle while you are riding and result in serious bodily injury.
- A quick clamp is a mechanism that uses a lever to tighten or loosen the clamp.
- When swinging the quick clamp lever from open to closed, the clamp should grip firmly. This will fix the handlebar or seatpost in place.
CAUTION
Be sure to operate the quick clamp lever by hand only. Never use any other
tool such as a hammer to tighten the quick clamp lever, as this could cause
damage to the lever and/or clamp.
Make sure that the quick clamp levers are pushed fully to the closed position (Fig. 1)
Note : If the quick clamp lever can be easily pushed to the closed position, this means the clamping strength is insufficient. Return the quick clamp lever to the open position and rotate the adjuster nut 1/8 of a turn clockwise. Again, swing the lever (do not twist or turn, Fig. 4) to the closed position. The clamp should be tight enough to keep the height position and not allow the seat or handlebar to be moved with force of hands. If closing the clamp requires too much force you can reduce the force by rotating the adjuster nut. Start with 1/8 of a counter-clockwise turn and try to close again.
NOW IT’S TIME TO PUT IT TOGETHER!
Insert the handlebar into the steer tube at the desired height. For small children, put the handlebar low; the older children put the handlebar higher. Clamp the handlebar most of the way, ensuring it is aligned with the wheel, then close the clamp lever. Finally, use the screwdriver and tighten it up nicely and snugly. The handlebar should be held firmly in place.
Note : The minimum insertion marking on the handlebar. Always keep at least 75mm inserted into the fork steer tube.
- Insert the seat tube into the seat tube, making sure the seat tube is straight and not twisted to the side.
- Clamp most of the seat tube to ensure it is aligned with the wheel, then close the clamp rod.
- Finally, use the screwdriver and tighten it up nicely and snugly. Seat tube should be firmly fixed in place.
Note : There is a minimum insertion mark on the seat tube, and the seat tube should be located in the seat tube at least 55 mm.
Proper Seat Height: Proper seat height should allow the child to sit on the bike with both feet flat on the ground with a slight bend in his or her knees.
