SAFETY & WARNINGS
- Do not use the dryer if industrial chemicals have been used for cleaning.
- The lint trap must be cleaned frequently.
- Do not allow lint to accumulate around the dryer.
- Adequate ventilation must be provided to avoid the back flow of gases from appliances burning other fuels, including open fires.
- Do not dry unwashed items in the dryer.
- Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot remover, turpentine, wax, and wax remover should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.
- Items such as foam rubber (latex form), shower caps, waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried in the dryer.
- Fabric softeners or similar products should be used as specified by the fabric softener instructions.
- The final part of a dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are left at a temperature the ensures that they will not be damaged.
- Warning: Never stop the dryer before the end of the drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
- The air from the exhaust must not be released into a flue that’s designated for expelling fumes produced by gas or other fuel-burning appliances.
- The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door, a door with a hinge on the opposite side to that of the dryer, or in such a way that the full opening of the dryer door is restricted.
- Oil-affected items can ignite spontaneously, especially when exposed to sources of heat such as in a dryer. The items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat. If the heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to catch fire. Piling, stacking or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and can create a fire hazard.
- If it is unavoidable that fabrics containing oil products be placed in a dryer, they should first be washed in hot water with extra detergent. This will reduce, but not eliminate, the hazard.
- The appliance should not be turned over during normal use or maintenance.
- Remove all objects, such as lighters and matches, from pockets.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
- For appliances with ventilation openings in the base, carpet must not obstruct the ventilation holes.
- This dryer is for indoor use only.
- Children less than 3 years must be kept away from the dryer unless continuously supervised.
- If the drying process can operate while the door is open, or without pressing the ‘Start/Stop button, contact help.Kogan.com for support.
- This dryer is not intended to be placed on top of a washing machine.
- Do not store or install the dryer where it will be exposed to water or the weather.
- Install the dryer in a well-ventilated area for better air circulation and to avoid obstructing the air intake passage.
- Ensure items are as dry as possible before placing them in the dryer to prevent issues related to dampness.
- Avoid using flammable sprays near the dryer while it’s in use. If sprayed by accident, refrain from touching the plug or the start/pause button.
- Do not use the dryer if it’s damaged, not working correctly, partially taken apart, or missing parts.
- Be aware that the dryer’s rear can get very hot during operation.
- Avoid using the dryer with wet hands or feet.
- Prevent damage to the control panel by not placing heavy or hot items on top of the dryer.
- Do not attempt to dry items like raincoats, garments with loose fibres, or anything made with rubber or elastic materials on any heat setting.
- Wait until the cycle finishes before opening the dryer door to prevent burns.
- It’s recommended to use an electrical supply that is grounded to avoid interference with utilities like gas or water lines. Ensure proper separation and non-interference of different utility lines.
- For safety, promptly make any necessary adjustments following the guidelines and recommendations provided.
- The dryer utilises alternating current at the specified voltage and frequency. It operates normally even when the voltage fluctuates within a range of ±10% of the rated voltage. To ensure convenience and safety, a dedicated electrical outlet for the dryer should be installed adjacent to it. The connection method for this outlet is depicted in the accompanying figure.
- The electrical outlet and the grounding wire must be installed by a qualified electrician to prevent incorrect installation or use of the outlet and to guarantee the safety of use of electricity.
- If the power cord is damaged, cease use immediately and contact help.Kogan.com for support.
- The power cord of the dryer employs Y connection. Do not connect the grounding wire with the neutral wire, otherwise the cabinet will be charged, which is likely to cause the danger of electric shock.
- Clothes with the following markings should not be dried in this dryer.
OVERVIEW
INSTALLATION
Space Requirements
- Place the dryer in a ventilated area with no less than 10cm distance from the wall.
- If placed in a room such as a bathroom, it is suggested that there are no obstacles within 1.5m of the front of the dryer and it is kept ventilated.
- Do not install the dryer in the open air or where it can be easily damaged by water.
- Do not place the back of dryer near curtains or other objects.
- Do not place the dryer near gas or flammable materials.
Levelling
- Use a spirit level to confirm the dryer is positioned on a flat surface.
- If the dryer is not horizontally aligned (with a tilt angle of no more than 2°), it may operate unevenly and be prone to malfunction.
OPERATION
Step 1: Before Drying
- Ensure clothes are washed and spun dry before placing them in the dryer.
- Group similar types of clothes together when drying.
- Sort your laundry into loads that require similar drying times, such as separating heavier items from lighter ones.
- Verify that any decorations or buttons on clothing can withstand high temperatures and won’t damage the dryer’s drum. Ensure clothes are adequately protected.
- Consider turning clothes inside out before drying.
- Inspect clothes after washing; if dirt remains, do not rely solely on the drying process to remove it.
- Ensure the power plug is securely connected and the power cord is in good condition.
Step 2: Check the Filter
- Ensure the filter is clean and in the correct position.
- The filter must be cleaned regularly.
Step 3: Put Clothes into the Dryer
- For quicker outcomes, it’s advisable to dry clothes with a load size ranging from 1/2 to 2/3 of the drum’s capacity. Adequate space is essential for even circulation of clothes during the drying process.
- When drying large clothing items, it is recommended to include several small items to balance the load.
- When drying expensive or small items (<1.5kg) it is recommended to add several towels with fibres that won’t fall off easily as this will help dry the clothes more evenly.
- To avoid clothes being creased, rough or static, do not over dry.
