Electric Safety

Operation and Handling of the Power Tool

• Store unused batteries away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails,screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• In the event of battery fluid leakage, avoid contact with the fluid. If contact occurs, flush the affected area with water and seek medical help if necessary. Battery fluid contact can cause skin irritation or burns.

Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Special Safety Instructions

• When operating the power tool, always hold it firmly with both hands and ensure you maintain proper footing and balance.

• Any harmful/noxious dusts generated from sanding represent a risk to the health of theperson operating the tool and to anyone near the work area. Wear safety glasses and adust protection mask.
• Ensure that there is adequate ventilation hen working on plastic, paint, varnish etc.
• Do not soak the materials or the surface you are about to work on with liquids containing solvents.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Charging the Battery Pack

1. Remove the battery pack (6) from the handle by pressing the push-lock buttons (8) downwards.
2. Check that your mains voltage corresponds with that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger. Plug the main plug of the charger (7) into the socket outlet.
3. The temperature of the battery pack may rise slightly during the charging operation, which is normal. If the battery pack fails to charge, check the following:
   • Whether there is voltage at the socket outlet.
   • Whether there is proper contact at the charging contacts on the charger.
   • If the battery still fails to charge, contact help.Kogan.com.
   • To ensure that the battery pack provides long service life, recharge it promptly when it is low.
   • Never fully discharge the battery pack as this can cause the battery to develop a defect.

Attention

Regularly charge the battery pack once every six months, even if it has not been used. This helps maintain battery health.

Changing the Tool

Before performing any work on the power tool (e.g., maintenance, tool changes, etc.), during transport, and during storage, set the rotational direction switch to the centre position. This prevents the power tool from being unintentionally activated, which can lead to injuries.

OPERATION

Changing the Attached Tool

1. Press the quick-change button (2).
2. Insert the tool into the stationary shaft (1).
3. Release the quick-change button (2).

Bringing into Use

1. Press the lock-off switch in any direction (3).
2. Press the Power switch to operate the tool (4). To adjust speed based on the cutting environment, use the speed control switch (5).

Sawing/Cutting:

• Use only undamaged, defect-free saw blades. Distorted, blunt, or damaged saw blades could break.
• Consult a qualified trade professional before sawing lightweight building materials.
• Use the tool in Plunge Sawing mode on soft materials such as wood and gypsum plasterboard only.

Sanding

• Apply even pressure to extend the life of the sanding sheet.
• Always wear a dust mask.
• Use vacuum dust extraction.
• Ensure your work area is well ventilated.
• Observe local regulations for the materials you are working on

Selecting a Tool

Straight Saw Blade:

• Material: Sheet and tube metals up to approximately 3 mm thick, such as soft aluminium.
• Use: Cutting and plunge sawing. Close to the edge sawing, even in hard-to-reach areas.
• Example: Laying parquet and other floor coverings, including plunge sawing.

Half Round Saw Blade:

• Material: Concrete.
• Use: Cutting.
• Example: Laying parquet and other floor coverings, including plunge sawing.

Scraper:

• Materials: Mortar/concrete residues, tile/carpet adhesives, paint/silicone residues.
• Use: Removal of material residues, for example, removing tile adhesive when replacing damaged tiles.

CLEANING & CARE

Always remove the battery from machine before performing any cleaning or maintenance.

Cleaning

• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust.
• Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
• It is recommended that you clean the device immediately after each use.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device.
