3.2 Telescopic pole with sensors
ATTENTION!
When the appliance is not in use, always slide the protective sleeve over the
sensor opening to protect the sensitive hot wire sensor.
ATTENTION!
Never touch the hot wire and temperature sensor.
Functional principle
The Wöhler TA 200 measures the flow velocity via a very small hot wire sensor.
The temperature compensation required for precise measurement at different
temperatures is carried out automatically via a separate temperature sensor,
which is fitted below the flow sensor. Both values, flow velocity and
temperature, are shown simultaneously on the display. The telescopic probe
enables flexible adaptation to different air duct crosssections. Thanks to the
flexible gooseneck, the device can also detect leaks in doors or windows
during blower door measurement in accordance with ISO 9972
The measuring device offers various functions for convenient measurement of
ventilation systems:
- For simple volume flow measurement, the duct cross-sectional area can be entered flexibly on the device.
- For network measurements in air ducts in accordance with EN 16211, the values at individual measuring points can be recorded in a special measuring mode. The average of these values is automatically shown on the display. The device can also be used to
carry out time-averaged measurements, in which the averaged value over a certain period of time is displayed.
Preparation for operation
ATTENTION!
The appliance may only be used within the authorised temperature range. Avoid
strong vibrations.
ATTENTION!
The appliance must not be operated in the vicinity of strong electric fields.
ATTENTION!
The device must never be placed on the user interface.
5.1 Batteries

The battery compartment is located on the back of the device.
When the battery voltage is low, a battery symbol appears on the left-hand side of the display. -
In this case, insert new batteries.
-
To carry out a flow measurement, remove the protective cap from the probe tip.
-
Pull the telescopic rod to the required length
5.2 Alignment of the probein the pipe
NOTE!
To measure in the pipe, straighten the gooseneck of the probe head.
- For leakage detection, e.g. on a window or door frame, align the gooseneck of the probe head individually.
There is a yellow sticker labelled IN on the tip of the probe and on the probe handle.
- Make sure that this sticker is always directed towards the air flow to be measured.
5.3 Switch on
- Switch on the appliance by pressing the POWER button.
After a warm-up time of 5 s, the device is in measuring mode.
The automatic switch-off function is activated. (switch off after 10 minutes)
