Checklist

Congratulations on receiving your PAX Technology payment terminal. We do hope you enjoy it! The box you have just opened should contain the following items:

  • 1 x PAX A8500 Smart Payment Terminal
  • 1 x AC Power Adapter
  • 1 x AC Power Cable (optional)
  • 1 x Thermal Paper Roll (optional)
  • 1 x Multi-Functional Cable (optional)

Product Description

PAX A8500 Smart Payment Terminal - Product Description

  • A8500N, support USB output 5Vdc 0.9A.
  • To avoid risk of fire, please just connect the product to an power supply of which output capability is less than 15W.

Installation

  • Power on: Plug in the DC power port by connecting the AC power adapter and the AC power cable, and start the machine directly , the main screen and guest screen display normally.
  • Swipe the magnetic stripe card: face the card’s magstripe inwards toward the device, swipe the card completely up or down in a constant steady manner (bi-directional).
  • Smart IC Card: Place the IC chip face Up, then insert the IC card into the card slot, and push it to the end.
  • Contactless card: tap the contactless card or mobile wallet near the up central of the screen, indicated by the universal contactless icon.
  • 1D/2D Code Reader: Scan the 1D/2D code toward the top central area of the  screen.
  • Electronic Signature: Use your finger to sign on the screen. Never use metal or sharp objects to operate the touch screen as it could get damaged.
  • Insert SAM/SIM/ microSD card: remove back cover & insert cards to corresponding card slots.
  • Install the printer paper :
    When the printer is out of paper, Open the printer cover; Load the paper roll into the paper bin and extend the end of the paper out of the printer; Close the printer cover.

General Usage Tips

  • Avoid placing this product in direct sunlight for extended periods, nor in environments with excessively high temperature, moisture or dust.
  • If repairs are required, please contact a professional technician instead of attempting them on your own.
  • Before using cards in the Smart Card Reader & Magnetic Card readers, please ensure they are free from any foreign objects.
  • To clean the screen, apply distilled water or mild glass cleaner onto a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe terminal.
  • This device has an electronic label for certification information. To access it, the is Swipe down from the upper right edge of the screen to display Control Panel and touch the Regulatory labels.

Password & PIN Entry Tips

PAX recommends entering passwords and inputting Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) as follows:

  • Place the product at an appropriate angle so that it is difficult for another person to see the PIN or password being entered.
  • Shield password entry from any nearby video surveillance.
  • Use body or free hand to block the view of keypad.
