SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Before using this electrical appliance, carefully read the instructions below and keep them for future reference:

  1. Before plugging the appliance into the wall socket, check that the local electric current corresponds to the current specified on the appliance’s rating plate. Always plug your appliance into an earthed wall socket.

  2. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.

  3. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  4. The marking of this device (symbol of a crossed-out dustbin) complies with European Directive 2012/19/EU relating to «used electrical and electronic equipment».
    This marking means that this equipment, at the end of its useful life, cannot be disposed of with other household waste. The user is required to deliver it to operators who collect used electrical and electronic equipment. Collection operators, including local collection points, shops and local authorities, create an appropriate system for collecting equipment. Appropriate collection of used electrical and electronic equipment helps avoid harmful impacts on human health and the environment, resulting from the presence of hazardous components, as well as from improper storage and treatment of this equipment.

  5. Unplug the power cable from the mains as soon as you finish using the appliance before any cleaning or maintenance, and when attaching accessories.

  6. Do not immerse the appliance, power cable or plug in water or any other liquid.

  7. The appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or a separate remote-control system.

  8. Do not touch the metal or hot parts of the appliance when it is in use.

  9. This appliance is intended for domestic use and use in similar environments, such as:

    • kitchen areas for staff in shops, offices or other working environments;
    • farms;
    • by guests in hotels, motels and other residential environments;
    • B&B-style accommodation.

OPERATION

  1. 1. Place your appliance on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.

  2. Unwind the power cable fully. Connect one end of the cable to the crepe maker, then plug the other end into a mains socket.

  3. Put the ON/OFF switch in the “MAX” position to turn on your crepe maker. The power indicator light will come on. Let the appliance heat up for 5 minutes. Do not worry if a little smoke comes out of the appliance.

  4. Lightly grease the cooking plate. To do so, use a small brush or piece of kitchen roll lightly soaked with cooking oil.

  5. Place a small amount of batter on the hotplate and spread it around with the wooden spreader.

  6. After about 45 seconds, use a wooden spatula to turn over the crepe. The cooking time varies according to the batter consistency and how golden you like your pancakes.
    To preserve the non-stick coating on the cooking plate, we recommend using suitable utensils (wood or heat-resistant plastic). Metal utensils should not be used.

  7. Then fold the crepe to your liking: in half, quarters, rolled up, in a pocket…

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • After each use, switch off the appliance and unplug it from the mains.
  • LET THE VARIOUS ELEMENTS COOL DOWN BEFORE PERFORMING ANY CLEANING OPERATIONS.
  • Never use scouring powder or abrasive pads to clean the appliance.
  • Use a sponge soaked in washing-up liquid to clean the appliance’s exterior and wooden accessories. Use a kitchen roll soaked in oil for the non-stick plate.
  • The spatulas and wooden spreader are not dishwasher-safe and must not be left to soak in water.

GUARANTEES

Guarantees and limitations of liability
Products are guaranteed for 36 months from the date of purchase or the date of delivery to the customer’s home. Depending on the country, this guarantee consists of 24 to 36 months of validity for the legal compliance guarantee.
For countries that only implement a 24-month legal compliance guarantee, a 12-month commercial guarantee is applied at the end of the first guarantee and supplements it.

Please consult your retailer for information and/or to refer to their GTCs (General Terms and Conditions of Sale).

For the commercial guarantee
Please go to the reception desk at your place of purchase with your proof of purchase (e.g. sales receipt), the product and the accessories it came with, and its original packaging, for all countries other than France. It is important to have the date of purchase, the model and the serial number or IMEI number to hand (this information is usually indicated on the product, packaging, or your proof of purchase). You’ll need to bring back the product with the accessories needed for its correct functioning (power supply, adapter, etc.). If your claim is covered by the guarantee, the after-sales service may, within the limits of local law, either:

  • Repair or replace faulty parts.
  • Exchange the returned product with a product that has, at the least, the same features and that offers equivalent performances.
  • Refund the product at the price stated on the proof of purchase.

Repaired or replaced products may include new and/or reconditioned hardware and components.

Commercial guarantee exclusions:

  • Damages or problems caused by improper use, accident, tampering/modification or an unsuitable current or voltage connection.

  • Use or storage conditions that are detrimental to the good conservation of the appliance (oxidation, corrosion), use of energy, use or installation non-compliant with the manufacturer’s instructions, or negligence or use of peripherals, software or consumables that are unsuitable. Professional or collective, industrial or commercial use of the product.

  • Products that have been modified, or which have damaged, altered, erased or oxidised guarantee seals or serial numbers.

  • Replaceable batteries and accessories are guaranteed for 6 months.

  • Battery failure is caused by overcharging or by failure to follow the safety instructions set out in the manual.

  • Cosmetic damage, including scratches, bumps or vandalism.

  • Damage caused by any servicing operations carried out by non-authorised persons.

  • Faults caused by normal wear and tear or the normal ageing of the product: seals, filters, accessories, vacuum cleaner brush and hose, lamps, overhead projector lamps, washing machine paddles, etc.

  • Software updates as a consequence of changes to network settings.

  • Damage caused by elements external to the ap-pliance (foreign bodies, insects, etc.).
    The contents of the devices – freezer, washing machine, etc. (food, clothing, etc.)

  • Product failure is caused by the use of third-party software to modify, change, adapt or alter the product as is.

  • Product failure resulting from its use without the accessories supplied with the product or approved by the Manufacturer.

  • Parts for normal wear and tear or damage from use: tyre, inner tube, brake, etc.

The customer is responsible for regularly backing up the data contained on their hard disk or in the internal memory of their device, and this is before any claim is submitted.

  • Auchan cannot be held liable for the loss or destruction of stored data, nor may it be held liable for damage caused to software resulting from, in particular, a restoration or a breakdown.
  • Similarly, Auchan is not required to check that SIM/SD cards have been removed from returned products.

Under no circumstances shall the provisions set out above reduce or eliminate: the legal guarantee referred to above, and the manufacturer’s commercial guarantee, if applicable (see guarantee form).
