Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Adastra RM10 portable megaphone for voice reinforcement. This product is designed to offer convenient and easy operation for a wide range of portable public address requirements. Please use the following instructions to gain the best results from your RM10 megaphone.
Safety
The RM10 megaphone can produce high sound pressure levels at close quarters. Please be aware not to aim the horn flare toward listeners at close proximity, which may risk damage to the listeners’ hearing.
The RM10 operates from a rechargeable 18650 Lithium-ion cell, which is supplied with the megaphone. This will need to be installed correctly into the rear battery compartment and charged before use.
A USB type A to DC jack lead is provided to allow recharging from a 5Vdc USB power supply.
Keep this cell away from heat sources and remove if being stored for long
periods.
Only replace this with an equivalent 18650 type Li-ion cell with capacity of
1500mAh or more.
Positioning during operation
When in use, the hand grip of the megaphone should be folded out fully and held firmly with the flare facing toward the audience. Keeping the loop strap around the wrist is advised for added security. In between uses, the megaphone can be placed on a flat surface with the flare facing downward, protected by the rubber trim around the flare edge.
Cleaning
The housing is water resistant and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use detergents or solvents on the housing and take care not to allow liquids to get inside the housing at the rear or via the battery compartment.

Setting up
To operate the RM10 megaphone, it will be necessary to insert the supplied
Lithium-ion cell into the rear battery compartment and make sure it is charged
firstly.
Before inserting the battery, set both the TALK and SIREN buttons (3, 7) to
the “out” position.
To access the rear battery compartment, press the battery compartment release
button (5) and the rear section of the megaphone will flip upwards to reveal
the battery holder.
Load in the 18650 Lithium-ion cell negative (-) end first, leaving the
positive (+) button facing outward.
Fold down the rear section to cover the battery compartment until it clicks firmly shut.
Connect the supplied USB to DC plug lead to a USB port or charger that has a current capacity of 500mA or more and connect the DC plug end to the 5V power inlet on the RM10 rear panel (2).
The CHG indicator (5) will light to show that charging is in progress.
When the battery is full, the FULL indicator (6) will light to confirm this.
Operation
Make sure that the hand grip is folded out fully and held firmly with the rear panel facing toward the operator and the flare facing away. For added security, place the loop strap around the wrist.
Ensure that the TALK and SIREN buttons are still in the “out” position and slide the VOLUME control (8) to the halfway position. Do not point the megaphone directly towards people at close range.
Press the TALK button (3) in and the ON indicator (1) will light to show that the megaphone is activated.
Speak into the microphone (4) and adjust the volume slider (+/ -) to suit the output level required.
Be aware that if feedback occurs (loud howling or squealing when the megaphone is powered on), it may be necessary to reduce the VOLUME level and keep your mouth 5-10mm away from the microphone.
If an alert is required, pressing in the SIREN button (7) will emit a loud
sweeping pitch from the horn.
Pressing this button again stops the siren alert.
When speech is finished, press the TALK button again to set it to the “out” position, which also preserves the battery.
When not in use, place the megaphone face down (flare down) onto a flat surface. Folding the handle away makes the megaphone more compact for storage or transport. Remove the batteries if not being used for long periods.
