Safety instructions for operation

Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there is a risk of death or injury.

  • Do not let children younger than 8 years operate the product.
  • Do not let persons with physical, sensorial or mental disabilities operate the product without supervision.
  • Do not let persons who do not have the required experience, knowledge or training operate the product without training or supervision.
  • Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product.
  • Do not use the product if the power cord or plug is damaged.
  • Do not place the product on a wet surface or near hot surfaces.
  • Only use the product on a stable, level surface.
  • Do not expose the product, the power cord or the plug to water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.
  • Do not use the power cord to pull the power plug from the power outlet.
  • Disconnect the product from the power outlet before you clean or do maintenance on the product.
  • Do not use the product if it does not work correctly, or if the product is damaged.
  • Keep the product under careful observation when there are children nearby.
  • The product is only intended for household use.
  • Servicing must only be carried out by an authorized service center.
  • The appliance has a short power cord to prevent it from fastening, or someone tripping over it.
  • Do not use an extension cord if it is not necessary. If it is necessary to use an extension cord it must be earthed and the cross-sectional area of wires must be dimensioned for the power supply to the product.
  • Do not put the power cord over a table or worktop edge.
Food safety
  • Do not vacuum seal fresh mushrooms, onions or garlic – risk of growth of anaerobic bacteria.
  • Do not vacuum seal soft cheeses – risk of growth of anaerobic bacteria.
  • Vacuum seal is not a substitute for refrigerated/frozen storage.
  • Keep meat and fish in the freezer for 1-2 hours before vacuum seal.
  • Vacuum seal cheese after each use.
  • Blanch vegetables before vacuum packing.
  • Powdered foods such as flour must be vacuum sealed by placing the entire package in a vacuum bag – the powdered foods can cause damage to the product.
  • Liquid foods must be frozen solid in a suitable container prior to vacuum packing.

Operation

Caution! Wait at least 20 seconds between seals. The product has overheat protection that automatically turns it off if it overheats. If the overheat protection comes on, let the temperature of the product decrease for 25 minutes.
Note! Push the cancel button at any time to stop an active function.

To automatically vacuum and seal
  1. Put the item to be vacuum packed in a vacuum bag.
    Leave at least 5 cm between the contents and the edge of the bag. (Figure 2)

  2. Open the cover and place the bag with the opening down in the vacuum chamber.

  3. Close the cover. (Figure 3)

  4. Push the vacuum button. The product removes the air and seals the bag.

  5. When the status lamp goes off, open the cover.

To manually vacuum and seal

Note! This operation is recommended for soft or fragile foods.

  1. Put the item to be vacuum packed in a vacuum bag.
    Leave at least 5 cm between the contents and the edge of the bag.

  2. Open the cover and place the bag with the opening down in the vacuum chamber.

  3. Close the cover.

  4. Push and hold down the pulse button. The vacuum pump is active as long as the button is being held down.

  5. Push the seal button when the required vacuum level has been reached. The status lamp goes on.

  6. When the status lamp goes off, open the cover.

To make custom bags

Note! To make custom bags requires vacuum bags on a roll.

  1. Cut the required length for the food to be packaged and add 5 cm. Make sure to cut straight.
  2. Open the cover and place on end of the bag on the seal strip.
  3. Close the cover.
  4. Push the seal button. The status lamp goes on.
  5. When the status lamp goes off, open the cover

Maintenance

Warning! Do not dismantle the product, or attempt to modify or repair it.

To clean the product

Warning! Disconnect the power cord before you clean the product.
Warning! Let the product become cool before you clean it.

  • Liquid from bags can collect in the vacuum chamber. Wipe with a damp cloth with a mild detergent if it is necessary.
  • Clean excess food, liquid, etc. inside the product with paper towels.
  • Wipe the surface of the product with a soft, damp cloth.

Troubleshooting

Problem Action
The bag does not seal. Inspect the seal strip. If the seal strip is creased,

wait until the temperature of the product has decreased. Carefully remove the strip and correct the crease, then set the strip in position.
Foods with high liquid content can cause the bag to not be sealed correctly. Open the bag, wipe the inside clean and seal again.
Make sure that the bag is in the correct position in the vacuum chamber.
Let the temperature of the product decrease for at least 20 seconds between each seal.
The bag melts.| Let the temperature of the product decrease for 25 minutes and try again.
No response when the vacuum button is pushed.| Make sure that the power cord and plug are not damaged.
Use another product to do a check of the power outlet. If the power outlet has no current, do a check of the fuses.
Make sure that the power switch at the rear of the product is in the ON position.
Make sure that the vacuum bag is positioned correctly in the vacuum chamber.
Make sure that the cover is correctly closed.
Let the temperature of the product decrease for 25 minutes and try again.
The sealed bag fills with air again.| Inspect the seal. Holes or creases can cause a leakage.
Foods with high liquid content can cause the bag to not be sealed correctly. Open the bag, wipe the inside clean and seal again.
Inspect the bag for damage and punctures caused by the contents.
Make sure that the vacuum chamber seals are not loose, damaged or worn.
Air is not removed from the bag.| Inspect the bag for damage or incomplete seals.
Make sure that the vacuum chamber seals are not loose, damaged or worn.

Make sure that the bag is in the correct position in the vacuum chamber.

Disposal

To discard the product
  • Make sure that you follow local regulations when you discard the product. Do not burn the product.
