SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Before plugging the device in and starting using it, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the provided instructions. Keep this manual for future reference. • Follow all warnings on the product and in the documentation supplied with the appliance.

  • Unplug the device before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or spray cleaners for cleaning. Use wet cloth for cleaning.

  • Use only accessories recommended by the manufacturer. Otherwise, there is a risk of injury or damage to the device.

  • Do not use the device near water and in wet locations such as near a pool, bathtub, kitchen sink, in a damp cellar, laundry room, and so on.
    The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, do not place containers filled with liquids on the device.

  • Do not place the device on unstable surfaces (stands, carts, tables, holders, etc.). The device could fall and could cause serious injury to a child or an adult and damage the appliance. Use only stands, carts or tables, and holders recommended by the manufacturer or sold with the product. Any mounting should respect the manufacturer’s instructions and mounting materials recommended by the manufacturer should be used. Transport the appliance on a cart with extreme caution – sudden stops, sudden changes of direction, or uneven surfaces may cause the appliance to tip over.

  • Place the device on a horizontal, flat, and firm surface with good ventilation. Do not cover the air vents. Doing so may damage the device by overheating.
    Do not place the device in a confined space with poor ventilation, for example, in glass cabinets or on tight shelves.

  • The appliance should be powered only from a power sources indicated on the product label. If you are unsure of your power network parameters, consult your vendor or your electricity provider. In case of power supply from batteries, follow the instructions in the manual.

  • The power cord should be led so as to avoid stepping on the cord or its excessive straining or pinching. Pay special attention to places where the cord exits from the appliance and close to the plug. If the device is not used for long periods, unplug the power cord. Unplug the power supply also during a thunderstorm to prevent damage by lightning.

  • The electrical outlet has to be constantly accessible.

  • Do not overload electrical outlets by plugging in too many appliances.

  • Protect the device against infiltration of liquids or foreign objects and do not insert any object into the ventilation openings, with potentially hazardous contact with a voltage inside the device.

  • Do not open the device box. There are no elements inside that can be configured by the user. Have a qualified service technician perform repairs on the device.

  • Do not expose batteries to excessive temperatures, e.g. direct sunlight, fire, etc.

  • Replace batteries only with batteries of the same type and with the correct polarity. Otherwise, there is a risk the system may explode.

  • In the following cases, unplug the device and contact a qualified service:

  • The power cord was damaged

  • The device was infiltrated by a foreign object or liquid, or it was exposed to rain or water.

  • The appliance does not operate normally in accordance with the manual. Set only the elements described in the operating manual.

  • The device has significant functionality changes, indicating a need for service.

  • Do not expose the device to heat sources such as radiators, heating, or other heat-producing appliances such as amplifiers.

  • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the responsible authority can lead to loss of authorization to use the device.

  • Excessive sound pressure from earphones can cause hearing damage.

  • The type label is located on the bottom side of the device.

PRIOR TO USE

Unpacking the device

  • Remove carefully the device from the box and dispose of all the packaging material. Make sure that the package contains all the parts.
  • If any part is missing, contact your vendor. We recommend keeping the original box and packaging materials for possible future use. The original packaging is the best way to protect the appliance during transport from damage. In case of disposal of packaging materials, follow local regulations on environmental protection.
  • Remove from the device all stabilizing and descriptive labels. Do not remove warning labels or device-type labels.
  • Press the open the CD compartment door button. In the CD compartment is a white protective carton that protects the optical mechanism during transport. Remove this carton from the CD compartment prior to use.

Placement and installation of the device

  • Before connecting to electricity, make sure that the voltage in your electrical network matches the data on the type plate.
  • When plugging and unplugging the power cord, hold the plug, never pull the cord itself.
  • When the power cord of the device is plugged into the outlet, the device is under voltage, even when it is off.
  • Do not place the device in an environment with excessive dust to prevent dirt from accumulating on the player’s head.
  • Humidity condensation: If the unit is moved from a cold to a warm location or used in too wet locations it may cause condensation in the device, which will negatively affect its performance. In this case, remove the disc and leave the unit for about 1 hour undisturbed until the moisture evaporates.

Power

Inserting the batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment and insert 8 batteries LR14 UM-2, or C-type (not supplied) with the correct polarity indicated by the symbols (+) and (-) inside the compartment.
  2. Return the cover of the battery compartment and make sure the batteries are properly and firmly in place. The device is now ready for use. Battery operation requires unplugging the power cord from the device. Whenever possible, power the device from the electrical outlet, you will save the battery’s life. Handling the battery’s life.

Handling the batteries

  • Improper use can cause corrosion or battery leakage and subsequent damage to the device or personal injury.
  • Observe the polarity of the batteries (+ and -) marked inside the battery compartment. Use only batteries recommended in this manual. Do not combine old and new batteries or batteries of various types.
  • Do not throw old batteries in general household waste. Ensure their disposal in accordance with local laws.

AC power supply

  1. Place the device so that the electrical outlet is easily accessible. Check that the local network voltage corresponds to the values on the type label. Otherwise, contact your vendor or a service center.
  2. Insert the power cord in the AC connector and plug the other end into the electrical outlet. The device is now ready for use. To completely switch off the appliance, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

Caution 1 If you want to disconnect the device from electricity, always unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet. If you would unplug the power cord from the device only and leave it connected to the network, this could result in serious harm to small children.

USING THE SYSTEM

Using the remote control

  • Before using the remote control you must first remove from the battery compartment the plastic tab, which prevents draining of the battery.
  • When the functions of the remote controller become unreliable or the range decreases, replace batteries.
  • Point the remote controller to the IR sensor on the device and press the required function button.
  • The remote control range is approximately 6 meters, but using it at an angle reduces the remote control range.
  • Do not expose the remote control sensor to strong light sources and make sure that there are no obstacles between the remote controller and the sensor. Otherwise, the function might fail.

Setting the time

  1. Press briefly the button TIME/PROGRAM in standby mode. The display will flash time format (12H or 24H).
  2. Press the button BACK or NEXT to select 12H or 24H format and press TIME/PROGRAM to confirm the selection.
  3. The hours “XX” start flashing. Press the button BACK or NEXT to set the hour and confirm by pressing TIME/PROGRAM.
  4.  The minutes “XX” start flashing. Press the button BACK or NEXT to set minutes and confirm by pressing TIME/PROGRAM.

Set alarm (turning the device on/off)

  1. When you successfully set the clock, enter the menu settings by pressing and holding the button TIME/ PROGRAM in such a way that the display shows “ON‘.
  2. The display starts flashing the time when the device should start “00:00”. Press BACK or NEXT to set the device’s start time and confirm by pressing the button TIME/PROGRAM.
  3.  The display flashes the device‘s shutdown time “00:00”. Press BACK or NEXT to set the device’s shutdown time and confirm by pressing the button TIME/PROGRAM.
  4.  Now you can set the music source. Press BACK or NEXT to select Radio/USB/CD/AUX and confirm by pressing the button TIME/PROGRAM.
  5. Adjust the volume. Press BACK or NEXT to set the volume and confirm by pressing the button TIME/PROGRAM.

Listening to the radio

  1. Press the power button to start the device.
  2. Press repeatedly the button FUNCTION to select the radio mode (the display shows RADIO).
  3. If you want to start auto-search of the stations, hold the button NEXT for several seconds. If you want to tune a radio station manually, press briefly and repeatedly the button NEXT.
  4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start the automatic search of all stations and their saving in the memory.
  5. The external FM antenna is a directional antenna. When receiving an FM broadcast, extend it fully and set it in the direction that ensures the best reception.
  6. Set the volume to a comfortable level.
  7. Turn off the device by pressing the power button.

Storing the favorite radio stations and their recall from memory

  1. If you want to save the tuned radio station in memory while listening to it, press the button TIME/PROGRAM. The display starts flashing the preset number.
  2. Press repeatedly P-DN or P-UP to select the preset number (P01–P30) under which you want to save the station.
  3. Press TIME/PROGRAM to save the station under the selected preset number.
  4. You can store other stations in the memory by repeating the preceding steps.
  5. When you are listening to the radio, you can press repeatedly P-DN or P-UP to call up the required preset station.

CD playback
You can play original CD and CD-R/RW discs on the device.

  1. Press the power button to turn the device on.
  2. Push on the marked area of the door to open the door of the CD compartment.
  3. Insert the disc with the label up.
  4. Close the door of the CD compartment.
  5. Press repeatedly FUNCTION to select the CD mode (display shows CD).
  6. When the door to the CD compartment is closed and the disc is in, the display shows the total number of tracks and then the playback starts beginning with the first track.
  7. If there is no disc in the device, the display shows  and the device stops.
  8. Press PLAY/PAUSE to pause the playback, press again to resume playback.
  9. Press BACK or NEXT to go to the previous or next track.
  10. Hold the button BACK or NEXT to move faster back or forward within the track.
  11. If the disc contains MP3 tracks in various folders, you can select the required folder by using the buttons P-DN or P-UP.
  12. Press STOP to stop the playback of the disc.

Repeat Mode

  • Repeating one track: During CD playback press once the button REPEAT. The display shows an indicator of repeating one track . The current track will play repeatedly.

  • Repeating all tracks: During CD playback press twice the button REPEAT. The display shows an indicator of repeating all tracks “ ALL”. The whole disc will play repeatedly.

  • Canceling the repeat function: Press repeatedly the button REPEAT until the repeat indicator disappears.

Programming
1. When the CD playback is stopped, press once the button PROGRAM. The display shows the indicator
“PROGRAM” and the number of the first program position .
2. Using the buttons BACK or NEXT select the required track and press PROGRAM to store it in the memory.
3. When repeating the previous step you can create a program of up to 20 tracks long.
4. Press PLAY/PAUSE to start program playback.
Cancelling the program: While the playback is stopped, press the button STOP or open the door of the CD compartment. Canceling the program is indicated when the program indicator goes off.

USB playback
1. Insert the USB storage device in the USB port.
2. Press repeatedly FUNCTION to select the USB mode (display shows USB).
3. After loading the content the playback starts from the first track.
4. Using PLAY/PAUSE you can pause the playback and start again.
5. You can use the same buttons to control the playback as in the CD mode.
Note: Due to the many different formats available on the market we cannot guarantee 100% compatibility with all USB storage devices.
External input AUX IN
1. Attach the audio cable to the AUX IN connector and connect the other end to the music source, e.g. to the MP3 player.
2. Press repeatedly the button FUNCTION to select the AUX mode.
3. Use the volume buttons to set the volume of the device to a suitable level.
4. Use the controls of the connected device to control the playback.

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the unit
• Make sure that the device is entirely switched off before cleaning.
• Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasive ingredients.
• Clean the surface of the device using a lightly wet cloth.
• Do not use cleaning sprays on the device or in its vicinity.

• Do not touch the media side of the disc.
• Do not stick any labels on a disc.
Cleaning the discs
• Fingerprints and dust on a disc may cause a deterioration in the quality of playback. Keep the discs always clean. Wipe the disc with a fine cloth from the center towards the edge.
• If the disk cannot be cleaned with a dry cloth, use a damp cloth and then wipe dry.
• Do not use solvents such as paint thinner or benzine, commercially available cleaners or anti-static spray, you could damage the disc.
Disc storage
Do not store discs in places exposed to direct sunlight or near a heat source.
Do not store discs in locations exposed to dust and moisture, such as a bathroom or near a humidifier.
Storing discs vertically in a box, laying the discs on each other or placing foreign objects on unboxed discs can cause their deformation.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problems may often be caused by some small things. The following table provides tips for solving common problems.

• Empty/incorrectly inserted batteries. Insert fresh batteries correctly.
• The CD contains data other than music files. Try to skip to audio files.
The display does not work properly/any reaction to the controls| • There has been an electrostatic discharge. Turn the device off and unplug from the socket. Switch it on after a while.
• CD is not inserted. Insert CD.
• The CD is heavily scratched or dirty. Change or clean the disc.
• Fogged laser lens. Wait until the humidity evaporates.
• CD-R disc is empty or not closed. Use only closed CD-R discs or appropriate Audio discs.
•  Make sure that the CD is not encrypted with copyright protection technologies, as some of these discs do not meet the standards of the CD format.
The CD skips tracks| • CD disc is damaged or dirty. Replace or clean the disc.
• A program is active. Deactivate program.
• Badly scratched or dirty disc may cause a malfunction.
Bad reception of FM radio| • Make sure that the antenna is correctly set.
• Reception quality can deteriorate due to electrical interference. Move the device further from the source of the interference (especially motors, transformers, etc.)
