INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Toot-Toot Drivers® Smart Monster Truck.
Come on! Let’s play. This remote-free Toot-Toot Drivers truck uses IR sensors
that detect
your child and reacts accordingly! 2 modes of play encourage interaction,
light up roof button triggers vehicle facts, phrases & songs with fun movement
& stop & go buttons teach colours, safety & trigger left, right, forward &
spinning!

WARNING:
All packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable
tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this toy and
should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important
information.
PACKAGING LOCK REMOVAL
- Rotate the packaging locks 90 degrees anticlockwise.
- Pull out the packaging locks.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the Smart Monster Truck. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
- If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 4 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. not use damaged batteries.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Disposal of batteries and product

The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.

The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).

The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August, 2005. Help protect the environment by disposing of your product or batteries responsibly.

PRODUCT FEATURES

ON/OFF/Mode Switch
To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/OFF/ Mode Switch to the Learn Mode ( ) or the Interact Mode ( ) position. You will hear a song, a phrase and a sound effect. To turn the unit OFF, slide the slide the ON/OFF/ Mode Switch to the OFF ( ) position. WARNING: For your child’s safety, only use the Smart Monster Truck on the floor. Do not roll the truck on your clothing, body or hair while the motorised truck is turned on. If something gets caught in the truck’s wheels while the motor is on, lift the truck up so it is no longer touching your child or slide the mode selector switch to the off position to turn the motor off. Adult supervision required. -
AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the Smart Monster Truck will automatically shut-off after approximately 50 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
NOTE: This product is in Try-Me mode in the packaging. After opening the package, turn the vehicle off and on again to proceed with normal play. If the unit powers down or if the light fades out during play, please install a new set of batteries.
ACTIVITIES
- Slide the ON/OFF/Mode Switch to the Learn Mode ( ) or Interact Mode position ( ) to turn the unit on. You will hear a sing-along song, fun phrase and a sound effect. The lights will flash and the truck will move in different ways while making fun sounds.
- Press the GO BUTTON to hear playful fun phrases and sounds. The lights will flash and the smart truck will move in different ways while making fun sounds.
- Press the STOP BUTTON to hear playful fun phrases and sounds. The lights will flash with the sounds.
- Press the LIGHT UP ROOF BUTTON to hear sing-along songs, playful fun phrases and sounds. The light will flash and the smart truck will move in different ways while making fun sounds. In Interact Mode, press the LIGHT UP ROOF BUTTON when the monster truck is moving, to hear playful fun phrases or short tunes. The lights will flash with the sounds and the smart truck will stop.
- The smart truck is equipped with special sensors at the front. Move near the sensors to activate them and see the smart truck move away or dance and respond with playful phrases, music and sounds. The lights will flash with the sounds.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit sit for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
- If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new batteries.
