All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks,
removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of this
toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
Warning
Keep this soft toy out of the sleeping environment for babies under twelve
months to avoid suffocation risk.
Getting Started
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned Off.
- Find the battery cover located on the back of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw, then open the battery cover.
- Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 2 new AAA batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
Warning: Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach of children.
Battery Notice
Please dispose of your product and batteries responsibly. In the UK, give this toy a second life by disposing of it at a small electricals collection point so all of its materials can be recycled. Product Features
- On/Off/Mode Switch: To turn the unit On, slide the On/Off/ Mode Switch to Hug Me Mode or Sleep Mode position. You will hear soothing songs, phrases and sounds in Hug Me Mode and soothing songs and melodies in Sleep Mode. To turn the unit Off, slide the On/Off/Mode Switch to the Off position.
- Detachable Nightlight: The Detachable Nightlight creates a gentle glow. Remove the night light from the bear and it can be hung near a cot or stand on a unit.
Activities
- Sleep Mode: Press the light up Heart Button to hear soothing sounds, short tunes and melodies. The lights fade in and fade out with the sounds. In Sleep Mode it will activate 15 minutes of soothing melodies and nature sounds to sooth baby.

INTRODUCTION
Introducing the Soothing Sounds Bear by VTech®!
This soft and cuddly on the go bear is great for snuggles and cuddles. Bear
has two modes of play that features soothing nature sounds, songs and
melodies. Bear’s light up tummy gives off a gentle glow to soothe your little
one. The electronic module can be easily removed and used as a nightlight and
the brightness can be adjusted to provide the perfect lighting. There is a
strap on the electronic module that allows you to hang it near baby’s bed or
it can stand up on a side unit. When the electronic module is removed, Bear is
machine washable.

GETTING STARTED
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned Off.

BATTERY NOTICE
- Use new alkaline batteries or fully charged NI-MH (Nickel Metal-hydride) rechargeable batteries for best performance.
- Use only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended.
- Do not mix different types of batteries: alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable or new and used batteries.
- Do not use damaged batteries.
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Remove rechargeable batteries from the toy before charging (if removable).
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.

On/Off/Mode Switch
To turn the unit On, slide the On/Off/Mode Switch to Hug Me Mode or Sleep Mode position. You will hear soothing songs, phrases and sounds in Hug Me Mode and soothing songs and melodies in Sleep Mode. To turn the unit Off, slide the On/Off/Mode Switch to the Off position. -
Detachable Nightlight
The Detachable Nightlight creates a gentle glow. Remove the night light from the bear and it can be hung near a cot or stand on a unit.

Electronic Module
The electronic module is removable so the fabric portion of the VTech® Soothing Sounds Bear can be washed in a washing machine. REMOVE the electronic module before washing the fabric bear.
Automatic Shut-Off
To preserve battery life, the Soothing Sounds Bear will automatically shut off
after approximately 60 seconds without input in Hug Me Mode. The unit can be
turned on again by pressing the Heart Button.
NOTE
If the Bear powers down or if the light fades out during play, please install
a new set of batteries.

Sleep Mode
Press the light up Heart Button to hear soothing sounds, short tunes and melodies. The lights fade in and fade out with the sounds. In Sleep Mode it will activate 15 minutes of soothing melodies and nature sounds to sooth baby.

CARE & MAINTENANCE+
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources.
- Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on a hard surface and do not expose the unit to excess moisture.
- Please remove electronic module from the bear and follow the care instructions on the tag. When the electronic module is removed the fabric bear is machine washable.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please
follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit sit for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play with again.
- If the product still does not work, install a brand new set of batteries.
