BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient or
the patient’s caregiver. The user should be able to read, understand and be
physically capable of performing the directions, warnings and cautions in the
information for use.
INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS: The Aircast Heel Wedges are designed for use with a walker to provide comfort and support to the heel. Soft-good/ semi- rigid designed to restrict motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: N/A.
WARNINGS & PRECAUTIONS:
- Do not use over open wounds.
- Do not modify the device or use the device other than intended.
- Do not use this device if it is damaged and/or the packaging has been opened.
- Do not use this device on patient’s incapable of communicating physical discomfort.
- If you develop an allergic reaction and/or experience itchy, red skin after coming into contact with any part of this device, please stop using it and contact your healthcare professional immediately.
- If pain, swelling, changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur while using this product, consult your medical professional immediately.
NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.
OPERATION: The set includes five heel supports in various sizes. Depending on the shape and length of the foot, three wedges can be placed on top of the other and secured to the walker around the heel. For the small walker the three smallest supports are generally used, for the large, the three largest and for the medium, the medium sizes.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
- Peel off tape backing from bottoms of largest wedge. Secure the wedge to the heel section of the sole on the walker (Fig 2a).
- Peel off tape backing from bottom of other wedges. Affix the other two supports on top of the bottom wedge (Fig 2b/2c).
- Place as many wedges as needed for the correct heel angle (Fig 3).
Three wedges = angle of 22 degree
Two wedges = angle of 16 degree
One wedge = angle of 10 degree
Remove wedges as needed during the healing period.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Use mild soap and water. Dry at room temperature.
WARRANTY: DJO, LLC will repair or replace all or part of the unit and its accessories for material or workmanship defects for a period of six months from the date of sale. To the extent the terms of this warranty are inconsistent with local regulations, the provisions of such local regulations will apply.
