DONJOY TRU Pull Advance Attachment

BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.

INTENDED USER PROFILE:

The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient, the patient’s caretaker, or a family member providing assistance. The user should be able to: Read, understand and be physically capable to perform all the directions, warnings and cautions provided in the information for use.DJO

INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS:
The DonJoy Tru-Pull Advanced Attachment is an accessory to be used in conjunction with a DonJoy rigid brace designed to provide support to the knee following mild to moderate lateral patellar instability, subluxation and mal- tracking. Soft-good/semi-rigid designed to restrict motion through elastic or semi-rigid construction.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: None

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

  • If pain, swelling, changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur while using this product,you should contact your doctor immediately.

  • Do not use this product in a toxic or corrosive environment.

  • Do not use over open wounds.

  • If you develop an allergic reaction and/or experience itchy, red skin after coming into contact with any part of this device, please stop using it and contact your healthcare
    professional immediately.

  • Do not use this device if it was damaged and/or package has been opened.

NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.

APPLICATION INFORMATION :

  1. PARTS: (A) One Tru-Pull Advanced Attachment, (B) one buttress, (C) two buttons, (D) one double sided patch, (E) two adhesive patches, (F) two screws, (G) two washers.

  2. a) REMOVE: Remove lateral (the outside of brace) condyle pad.
    2b) THIGH AND CALF FRAME LINER: Peel back thigh and calf frame liner on inside of brace’s medial side.DJO DONJOY TRU Pull Advance Attachment -
1 Note: Arrow indicates medial jog (bend on the inside of the brace).

  3.  Peel off backing and apply button to frame approximately halfway between the straps at thigh and calf sections on medial side of brace.
    Note: Button to face outside of frame. See Figure 3.DJO DONJOY TRU Pull
Advance Attachment - 2 APPLY (2) BUTTONS: Apply buttons to the brace wrapping button flaps tight around the frame to meet or overlap on the inside of the brace under the liner as shown in Figure 3.
    RE-ATTACH : Place the thigh and calf liners back in place.
    Note: If necessary apply additional adhesive patch to hold liner in place.

  4.  For Standard hinges: Slide Tru-Pull Advanced Attachment over the plastic condyle shell (from back of the brace toward the front) where the condyle pad was removed.

  5. For LoPro Fourcepoint hinges: Place washers and screws on the soft side of the inner flap. The screw should go through the soft-side first and the plastic piece second. Be sure to align the holes from the flap on to the threaded holes of the hinge. See figure 5A. Then screw in the screws to the threaded holes.   6. RE-APPLY: If necessary reapply both condyle pads using double sided patch to secure it to the Tru-Pull Advanced Attachment as shown in Figure 6.DJO DONJOY TRU Pull Advance Attachment - 4 Note: Various thicknesses of condyle pads can be used to improve comfort and fit. APPLY: Buttress to the inside of tru-pull advanced attachment as shown to fit snugly  gainst the lateral side of the patella.

  7.  APPLY: Adjust button hole slots to frame buttons to the desired tension. trim excess material from the ends of the straps. see figure 7.DJO DONJOY TRU Pull Advance Attachment - 5 Note: to trim strap ends cut with scissors in-between the stitched seams.
    CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Detach buttress from brace. hand wash with mild soap in lukewarm water. rinse both thoroughly. Air Dry separately. Note: if not rinsed thoroughly, residual soap can cause irritation to skin or deteriorate material of the product. Wash the buttress with soap and water to return the “tacky” feel as needed or on a normal basis.
