DJO PROCARE Heavy Duty Gait Belt
BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended user should be a licensed medical professional, the patient or
the patient’s caregiver.
The user or caregiver should be able to read, understand and be physically
capable of performing all the directions, warnings and cautions provided in
the information for use.
INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS:
The Procare Heavy Duty Gait Belt is designed to provide support and assistance to cooperative patients who require ambulation and/or transfer assistance.
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS:
Soft-good/semi-rigid designed for ambulation and/or transfer assistance.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Never apply a Gait Belt if there is any compromise of safety or indication of inappropriateness to the patient or caregiver. If you have skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the body, the product should be fitted and worn only after consultation with a medical professional.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:
- Do not use over open wounds.
- Do not use on patients with post-operative incisions, ostomy, colostomy, G-tubes, hernias, or severe cardio obstructive pulmonary disease.
- Do not use product as a restraint.
- Do not use the device if it is damaged and/or the packaging has been opened.
- If you experience any pain, swelling, changes in sensation or other unusual reactions occur while using this product, you should contact your doctor immediately.
NOTE: Contact manufacturer and competent authority in case of a serious incident arising due to usage of this device.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:

Fit the belt around the patient’s waist with the DJO care label facing the outside.

Lead the tip of the belt through the buckle and over the teeth of the metal buckle.

Cross the strap over the buckle and pass the tip through the other side.

Move metal buckle to the patient’s back.

Tuck excess strapping under belt.
NOTE: Check for proper fit by placing two fingers between the patient and the belt. Make sure to always grab the belt from underneath.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
The gait belt can be hand-washed with mild soap in lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly. AIR DRY separately.
WARRANTY:
DJO, LLC will repair or replace all or part of the unit and its accessories for material or workmanship defects for a period of six months from the date of sale.
