ELVITA EGG COOKER

Read though this user manual carefully before using the egg cooker. Save the manual for later reference, to avoid incorrect use or injury.
In this manual, the egg cooker will also be referred to as “the unit”.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • The unit may only be connected to an earthed wall socket with a mains voltage of 220–240V 50/60Hz.
  • NEVER leave children unattended near the connected unit.
  • This product can be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, and by persons without proper practical experience or expertise, provided they are super-vised or instructed on safe use of the product and understand the risks involved with its use.
  • Place the unit on a flat, dry surface indoors far away from heat sources.
  • Do not immerse the unit in water or similar liquid, for instance when cleaning it.
  • NEVER pull on the mains lead. To protect the lead from damage, always use the plug to disconnect the unit from the mains electricity supply. Do not use the unit under any circumstances if the mains lead or any other part of the unit is damaged. Have the unit repaired by an authorized service agent.
  • If the unit is used in other ways than for its intended purpose, or without following the user manual, the user shall be responsible for any consequen-ces. Any damage to the product resulting from improper use shall not be covered by the guarantee or the returns policy.
PRODUCT-SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
  • The unit becomes very hot during operation. Only touch the unit’s handle.
  • Hot steam rises from the unit when the water is boiling. Do not touch the steam as this can cause injury.
  • Do not use other liquids than water.
  • Always keep the unit’s lid closed during operation.

USING THE EGG COOKER

Make sure any packaging is removed before using for the first time!

  • Place the egg cooker on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  • Prick the eggs with the needle on the bottom of the water measure to reduce the risk of the eggs cracking during cooking.
  • Fill the measure with water to the level required for the number of eggs and whether you want them soft-boiled, medium or hard-boiled, and pour the water into the bottom of the egg cooker.
  • Place the desired number of eggs in the egg tray (1–7), with the pricked end upwards.
  • Fit the lid and insert the plug into a wall socket. Then turn on the egg cooker by pressing the On/Off button.
  • When the egg cooker has finished it will beep to indicate that the eggs are cooked. Turn off the egg cooker by pressing the On/Off button. Carefully unplug the mains lead from the wall socket.
  • Remove the lid carefully (watching out for hot steam) and remove the eggs.
CLEANING

Cleaning the exterior – When the unit is cool, wipe it clean with a soft, damp cloth with a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid, but do not use strong detergents or chemicals.
Descaling the unit – Remove limescale from the unit with a descaler specifically designed for this purpose, available from supermarkets. Products clogged with limescale are not covered by the product guarantee.

STORAGE

When the unit is not in use, the mains lead can be coiled underneath the base of the egg cooker.

PRODUCT DISPOSAL

According to law, electrical and electronic devices must be disposed of at recycling stations and certain parts must be recycled. Electrical and electronic devices marked with a recycling symbol must be taken to a municipal recycling station.
