Safety Instructions
- Read the safety, installation, and operating instructions in this user guide before operating the product.
- Ensure the power supply to this product is as per the Specification section of this user guide or as printed on the backside/underside of the product.
- Power cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on, kicked, or pressed by items placed on or against them. Pay special attention to cords from plugs, power receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.
- Do not overload power outlets, extension cords, or multiple sockets, as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
- The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surfaces. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc.
- The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the product.

- Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult and serious damage to the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the instructions in this user guide and should use a mounting accessory recommended by Kogan.com
- The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period.
- Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
- When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by Kogan.com. Unauthorised substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
- Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with low-level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played.
- The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the power outlet. The power outlet or the power cord entry to the product must always remain freely accessible while the product is in use.
- The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong Electro-Magnetic Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instructions in this user guide. In case the product did not resume, use the product in a different location.

INSTALLATION
Placing the Soundbar on a Table
If your TV is placed on a table, you can place the soundbar on the table directly in front of the TV stand, centered with the TV screen. If the surface of the table is flat, the soundbar will rest on its metal feet.
Wall-Mounting the Soundbar
You can mount the soundbar on the wall. Follow the instructions shown in the
image below.
CONNECTION
Prepare the Remote Control
- Insert/replace the battery in the Remote Control.
- Open the battery compartment of the remote control.
- Insert 2pcs AAA-type batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment.
- If the remote is not in use for a long period, remove the battery to prevent the battery acid from leaking.
WARNING:
- Do not expose the batteries to intense heat, such as sunlight, fire to avoid explosion.
- Keep batteries out of the reach of children. They are not toys.
- Do not force open batteries.
- Avoid contact with metallic objects (e.g. rings, nails, screws, etc.) to avoid short circuits.
- Short circuits may overheat or even ignite batteries. This may lead to combustion.
- When transporting the batteries, cover the terminals for your safety with an adhesive strip.
- If the battery leaks, do not rub the fluid into the eyes or the skin. If acid comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with purified water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.
Connecting an External Device using an HDMI Cable
HDMI is an interface that enables the digital transmission of video and audio
data with just a single connector.
HDMI prevents any signal degradation due to conversion to analog and maintains
the video and audio quality of the original digital source.
HDMI 1 Input & HDMI 2 Input
Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) from the HDMI 1 Input or HDMI 2 Input to
the HDMI OUT port on your digital device.
HDMI Out/ARC
Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) from the HDMI OUT/ARC on the back of the
product to the HDMI IN port on your TV.
Audio Return Channel (ARC) Function
The ARC function allows digital audio output via the HDMI OUT/ARC. It can be
enabled only when the soundbar is connected to a TV that supports the ARC
function.
Note: HDMI-ARC is only compatible with HDMI 1.4 cables and above.
Connecting an External Device Using 3.5mm Audio (Analogue) Cable or
Coaxial/Optical (Digital) Cable
Not all TVs have the audio outputs as shown in the above image. To connect the
soundbar directly to your other devices (Blu-ray player, game system, etc) see
your device’s user guide. When using either of the digital inputs if the
status indicator light is flashing quickly:
- Ensure that the Optical cable or Coaxial cable is properly connected.
- Try setting the TV output to PCM.
- Connect directly to your Blu-ray/other devices. Some TVs do not pass through digital audio.
OPERATION
Pairing the Subwoofer to the Soundbar
Note: Before connecting the AC power, ensure that the power supply
voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the
product.
- Insert the DC plug of the AC-DC power adaptor into the DC Power Input on the bottom of the soundbar and then connect the AC-DC adapter to a convenient power outlet.
- Press the button to switch on the soundbar. The LED display will light up and will show the last used mode.
- Plug the connector of the power cord into the AC socket on the back of the subwoofer and plug it into the main power supply.
- Turn on the subwoofer by pressing the Power On/Off switch. The Pairing Indicator will flash blue.
- To pair the subwoofer and the soundbar, press and hold the SOURCE button on the remote control for about 5 seconds. You can see the “PAIRING” message on the display, and it is ready for pairing with the subwoofer or surround speaker.
- Press and hold the Pair button (around 5 seconds) on the back of the subwoofer within 15 seconds after the “PAIRING” appears on the soundbar, the Pairing Indicator on the back of the subwoofer will be changed to steady blue, indicating the connection is successfully established.
- Repeat step 5 and then press and hold the Pair Button (around 5 seconds) on the back of the main surround speaker within 15 seconds after the “PAIRING” appears, the Pairing Indicator on the front of the main surround speaker will be changed to steady blue, indicating the connection is successfully established.
Note: If the subwoofer or the main surround speaker has been paired with the soundbar once, the units will connect automatically in the subsequent use.
Select Different Input Mode
Press the SOURCE button on the soundbar or the remote control to cycle through the available Input modes.

Note: When the soundbar is idle and no input signal is received for 15 minutes, the soundbar will automatically switch to standby mode.
Playback with a Bluetooth Device
This product offers you the possibility to use a Bluetooth-enabled device. The
operational range is limited to approximately 10 metres depending on the
surroundings and the device used.
Preparing Devices for Pairing
Before using this product with a compatible device, such as a mobile phone,
for the first time, you must pair and connect it to the device.
- Press the button to switch on the soundbar. While in this mode, press the SOURCE button to select the Bluetooth mode. “BT” flashes to show that the pairing mode is activated.
- Ensure the Bluetooth function is activated in your device (e.g. mobile phone).
Pairing the Devices

If you have not paired the soundbar with a device or the paired devices list is empty, pairing mode is activated.

Activate Bluetooth on the compatible device and set it in search mode.

In your device, select the speaker name “KASBD513MA” from the list of found devices.
Note: Only one device can be connected to the speaker. If the speaker is already connected to another device, it will not appear in your device’s Bluetooth selection list. -
If your device asks for a passkey (depends on the device model and software version), then enter digits “0000” (four zeros) and press OK.

If pairing has been carried out successfully, a prompt sound is heard. The “BT” symbol stops flashing.

After the connection is complete, you can listen to music wirelessly through Bluetooth and select music in a Bluetooth device.

Press “+”/ “” button to raise/lower the volume level.

To disconnect, switch to another function or disable the function from your Bluetooth device.
Tips
- If a mobile phone on which you are playing music receives a call, the music will be interrupted. The sound however is not played back via the speaker. After you have ended the call, the devices are connected again, and playback continues.
- If there is an existing connection, press and hold the button on the remote control for 3 seconds to break the current connection and initiate pairing mode.
- The connection with the soundbar will be disconnected when your device is moved beyond the operational range. If you want to reconnect your device to this soundbar, place it within the operational range.
- If the device is moved beyond the operational range, when it is brought back, check if the device is still connected to the soundbar.
- If the connection is lost, follow the pairing instructions to pair your device to the soundbar again.
Optical/Coaxial (Digital Inputs) Operation
- Ensure the soundbar is connected to the TV or other audio device via Optical cable (included) or Coaxial cable (not included).
- Press the button to switch on the soundbar. While in this mode, press the SOURCE button on the soundbar or remote control to select the OPTICAL or COAXIAL mode.
- Operate your audio device directly for playback features.
Note: If there is no sound coming out from the soundbar and the status indicator light flashes quickly, make sure the audio (digital output) setting of your device (e.g. TV, DVD player, game player) is set to PCM.
3.5mm Aux Inputs Operation
- Ensure that the unit is well connected to the TV or other audio device via a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- Press the button to switch on the soundbar. While in this mode, press the SOURCE button on the soundbar or remote control to select the AUX input mode.
- Operate your audio device directly for playback features.
USB Playback
- Press the button to switch on the soundbar. While in this mode, press the SOURCE button on the soundbar or remote control to select the USB mode.
- Connect a USB storage device directly into the port, after a few seconds, it will start playing music automatically.
- Press the or button on the remote control to skip to the previous or next track.
CLEANING AND CARE
Care and Maintenance
- Do not subject this product to excessive force, shock, dust, or extreme temperature.
- Do not tamper with the internal components of the product.
- Avoid leaving this product in direct sunlight or hot, humid, or dusty places.
- Keep this product away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors.
Cleaning the Product
- To prevent fire or shock hazards, disconnect this product from the AC power source when cleaning.
- The product may be cleaned with a dust cloth. Be careful when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts.
- If the cabinet becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet.
- f the front panel becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as these will damage the finish of your unit.
Caution: Never allow any water or other liquids to enter the product while cleaning.
