Important notes
- Please review this manual and keep it safe so that you can refer to it at any time before operation.
- Computer systems, flu lights, electric motors, motor vehicles, etc. can cause interference and should be avoided.
- While listening to AM station which depends on the hidden magnetic rod antenna, so you can adjust the device location for the best reception. Also, the angle of the telescopic antenna can be elongated and turned in the direction for better FM reception.
- Do not let the backup battery that is about to run out be placed in the device for too long, to avoid leakage causing damage to the parts.
- Do not subject the device to strike, and avoid humid and high temperature environments.
- Place the device on a flat and stable surface with good ventilation to avoid damage to the device.
- The remote control contains a button battery, please keep the battery out of the reach of children.

Power source
- This device has Wi-Fi function, and the power consumption is higher than that of traditional radios. Please use an external AC power supply.
- In the event of a power failure, the data set by the user of the device will not be lost, and the battery can be installed to keep the clock synchronized. To install the battery, please follow the direction indicated by the arrow, open the battery cover, and follow the direction indicated by the positive/negative pole of the battery, insert 2 AM batteries.
- If you do not use the battery for a long time, please remember to take out the battery to avoid battery leakage.
Headphone socket
A 3.5mm diameter stereo headphone socket is provided for using headphone.
Please remove the stopper before using your headphone. This device speaker
will be muted automatically when the headphone plugged.
Radio
Radio on/off
Press the Radio button to turn on the FM band, then press it to switch to the
AM band, and then press it to turn off the radio. Pull out the telescopic
antenna when you want to listen to the FM station. The display shows the radio
frequency for 15s, if you do not operate any button, it will return to the
time display. Press the Radio button again to check on the current radio
frequency playing. Press and hold the Radio button for about 2s will also
allow you to exit radio mode directly.
Three ways to select radio frequency

Automatic scanning of the station
Press the Scan button move to the next available station, the display will show the current radio frequency. Stay with it or press again for next station. The display will back to time display if no operation is done in 15s. -
Manual search
Press either”+” or”-” button once, the station frequency will go up or down in single step. Or, long press the”+” or”-” button for 2s, it will search up or down for next available station. Stay with the station and display will back to time display or repeat for another station. -
Selecting your favorite station memory
When you’re listening to your favorite radio station, press and hold the memory “1 – 5” button about 2s, the display frequency flashes, the radio station will be stored at the button position. Repeating the same, the new station replaces the original station memory. To invoke a memory station, you can listen to it by clicking the corresponding button on the memory station “1 – 5”.
Radio frequency spacing adjustment
You can set AM/FM frequency spacing inside the SmartCuckoo App, or on the
device.

AM frequency spacing setting
In order to prevent mutual interference, AM radio stations stipulate certain frequency spacing. In some countries, it is 9 kHz; for other countries, it is 10 kHz. When the device is turned on, press the Menu/Setting button, and then press the Scan button until the AM band icon flashes on the display, use the”+” or”-” button to select the desired value, and then press the Select button to save the setting. -
FM frequency spacing setting
When the device is turned on, press the Menu/Setting button, then press the Scan button until the FM band icon flashes on the display, use the”+” or”-” button to select the desired value, and then press Select button to save the setting.
Voice messages
This device can playback voice messages sent by the SmartCuckoo App. (See the App page diagram for details of the operation).

Voice message playback (unread)
When the device is turned on, if there is new voice message, the breathing light of the button on the front panel of the device will flash, and the reminder bell will be played at the same time. Press the button to play the latest message. During playback, the display shows the date the message was received. If multiple messages exist, it will playback each automatically. The device will return to previous state in 3s after all messages were read. -
Listened to voice playback
If you want to replay a voice message you’ve listened, press the button to play the last voice message you received. The message will playback once and go back to previous status in 3s. Press or to switch forward or backward for the voice message stored in the device. -
Delete the message
This device can delete voice messages automatically (The delete parameter can be set on the SmartCuckoo App Setting page), or delete them on the device. Click the button to playback the voice message, the display shows the date of voice message, press and hold the Select button about 2s, the display flashes and the message is deleted. Other messages can be deleted by repeating the process. Press or to select just the voice messages you want to delete and taking the above procedure.
White noise playback
The device can play white noise files.
- White noise play
Press the Music button to play white noise and the icon is lighted up, press the”+”/”-” button to loop inside different tracks, the display shows the track number and the current time will show up after 15s. Press the Music button to check the currently playing track number, and press the Music button again to turn off white noise, the display icon disappears. Memory “1-5” buttons have been pre-set a favorite track respectively; you can replace the pre-set favorite tracks inside the SmartCuckoo App (see the App page diagram for details). In the music playback mode, press any button “1-5” to play the corresponding favorite track directly, and you can play more favorite tracks inside the App.
Turn off radio/white noise by timer
- The Timer will automatically turn off radio/white noise after a preset time has elapsed. You can set the timer value on the SmartCuckoo App page, or on the device.
- While listening to the radio station or white noise, press the SNOOZE button once, the timer value on the display flashes (the default value is OFF), use the”+”/”-” button to select the desired value (“30″/”60″/ “90”/”120″) or turn off timer(OFFJ, and then press the Select button to save the setting. You can wait until the display stops flashing or press the Menu/Setting button to exit if you do not want to modify it.
- Or, when the device is turned on, press the Menu/Setting button, and then press the Scan button until the timer value on the display flashes (the default is OFF) to start set timer value as the above process.
Time format/ Clock / Date / Alarm
Time format setting
You can set the time format inside the SmartCuckoo App (see the App page
diagram for details), or on the device. When the device is turned on, press
the Menu/Setting button, and then press the Scan button until 12H or 24H
flashes on the display, use the”+”/”-” button to select “12H” or “24H”, and
press the Select button to save the setting.
Clock/date settings
Launch the SmartCuckoo App, connect to the device Online, and the clock is
automatically set. It can also be set manually on the device, the steps are as
follows:
- When the device is on and shows time, press the Menu/Setting button to enter clock/date setting.
- The “hour’ digits flashes on the display, press”+” or”-” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired hour, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- The “minute” digits flashes on the display, press”+” or’-” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired minute, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- The “year” digits flashes on the display, press “+” or”- ” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired year, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- The “month” digits flashes on the display, press”+” or”-” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired month, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- The “day” digits flashes on the display, press”+” or”-” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired day, press the Select button to save and complete clock/date settings.
Tips: In any step above, press the Menu/Setting button to exit the setting if you do not want to set.
Alarm setting
You can set multiple Alarms inside SmartCuckoo App (see the App page diagram
for operation details). The Alarm 1/Alarm 2 can also be set on the device, the
steps are as follows:
- When the device is on, press Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button, the or icon flashes on the display. Press the Menu/Setting button to enter the alarm setting.
- The “hour” digits flashes on the display, press”+” or”-” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired hour, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- The “minute” digits flashes on the display, press “+” or K – ” button or rotate the Volume swivel knob to select the desired minute, press the Select button to confirm the setting.
- Select the alarm sound source:
- The ringtone track number flashes on the display, press the “+”/”-” button to select the desired ringtone.
- Press the Scan button to switch the alarm sound source to white noise, the icon and white noise track number flash on the display at the same time, press”+”/”-” button to select the desired white noise file.
- Press the Scan button to switch the alarm sound source to a radio station, press the “+”/”-” button to select the favorite radio frequency if set.
- Press the Select button to save and complete the alarm setting.
Stop and cancel the alarm setting
- When any alarm started, press Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button to stop the current alarm.
- Press and hold the Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 button for about 5s to cancel the alarm setting.
- You can set more alarms inside the SmartCuckoo App. When alarms other than Alarm 1 and Alarm 2 started, and icons flash on the display, press and hold Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 for about 5s to cancel the alarm setting.
SNOOZE feature
When the alarm started, press the SNOOZE button to mute the alarm temporally.
It will ring again in 5 minutes by default until you actually stop the current
alarm as above mentioned. (You can choose the SNOOZE duration inside the
SmartCuckoo App).
Voice reminders
This device can play schedule reminders in the form of voice, the time and
content of the schedule can be set inside the SmartCuckoo App (see the page
diagram of the App for details). When the reminder comes, the device plays the
reminder bell first, and then plays the voice reminder.
Auto dimmer
The display brightness will be adjusted according to the environment by
default, and more settings can be done inside the SmartCuckoo App.
Deep sleep settings
You can set the device deep sleep time inside the SmartCuckoo App (see the
setting page of the App for details). When the device enters deep sleep mode,
the display turns off. Press any button to wake up the display temporarily,
and it will automatically turn off after 10s. After the alarm rings or
manually turns on the radio/ white noise to wake up the sleep mode, the device
will maintain the default working state until the next deep sleep time.
SmartCuckoo App

Your Smart phone operating system must meet the following minimum requirements:
iOS: iOS 10.0 and above;
Android: Android 9.0 and above. -
Download the SmartCuckoo App from the Apple Store/Google Play.
The SmartCuckoo App connects to the device.
Click the”+” icon on the Home page and follow the instructions on the page to
help the SmartCuckoo App connect to the device. The device will make a “Ding-”
sound after it connects to the Internet.
If the display flashes “E01”, it means that the network connection failed.
Presses the Menu/Setting button to exit the error display, and then follow the
App instructions to try again, please make sure the Wi-Fi name and password
are correct.
Connection Mode
Join WLAN network: If there is a WLAN network at home, it is strongly
recommended to use this mode to join the device to the WLAN network.
Hotspot mode: This mode can provide this device connect with your phone
directly when no WLAN network is available. In this mode, your phone may not
be able to connect to the Internet, it is recommended to exit after finishing
using the App to avoid any impact due to the inability of the mobile phone to
connect to the Internet.
Home page
You can pin devices to the top of the home page so that you can quickly view
or operate these devices; Click icon to add agendas, and the to-do list for
today and the next week will be shown on the below of the home page
.
Calendar page
You can view the full schedule of any given day by selecting it in the
calendar, and you can turn on, turn off, modify, or delete any schedule.
Clicking the icon allows you to add new schedules.
Clock Radio Home page
- Turn on/off the radio station;
- Playback white noise files;
- Send voice messages to the device;
- Add alarms: Time wake-up, time voice reminder or time turn on the radio;
- Set timer and show the ambient temperature and humidity.
Settings page
- Modify the device name;
- View and set up the device’s network;
- Set the hour format and time zone;
- Set screen brightness;
- Set the FM/AM frequency spacing;
- Set the default ringtone of alarm and the ringing method (stronger or constant);
- Set the unit of temperature (Celsius or Fahrenheit);
- Set the days of reserve historical voice message;
- Set the deep sleep time and audio status;
- Check the firmware version and upgrade the firmware online.
Device list page
- Add devices (click the”+” icon);
- Delete devices (slide the device bar to the left);
- Pin/Unpin the device to the home page.
System info page
- Set App language;
- Contact, terms, privacy policy, App version information, etc.
FAQ
- The device failed to configure the router Wi-Fi network.
- The product only supports 2.4GHz (not 5GHz) Wi-Fi network.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi network name and password are correct.
- The SmartCuckoo App cannot connect to the device.
- Check whether the mobile phone network is normal.
- Considering the router compatibility, please try to restart the router.
- What should I do if I cannot receive the radio station?
- Try adjusting the antenna and the position of the device.
- Reception will be better near a window.
- An antenna signal booster is also an option.
