Introduction

This is a compact UPS designed for power-saving bulbs. Its portable size features easy installation and high movability. It’s the perfect choice for diverse applications from indoor to outdoor events or activities such as camping and night markets. The on-box lamp holder can be used for directly plugging in a CFL bulb with a full range of 360-degree  lighting. Besides, it can accept a wide input voltage range. It’s perfect to use in unstable power areas. It is very easy to install at home, office or carry outside.

Important Safety Warning

CAUTION! Do not plug the UPS input into its own output.
CAUTION! Do not allow liquids or any external object to enter the UPS.
CAUTION! In the event of an emergency, press the OFF button and disconnect the power cord from the AC power supply to properly disable the UPS.
CAUTION! This unit contains more than one live circuit (batteries & AC line). Power may be present at more than one source. To reduce the risk of electrical shock,  disconnect both AC and DC power from the unit before attempting any maintenance or replacement inside of the unit. Turning off the unit will not reduce this risk.
CAUTION! Servicing of batteries should only be performed or supervised by personnel knowledgeable of batteries and with required precautions.
CAUTION! When replacing the batteries, use the same number and type of batteries.
CAUTION! The internal battery voltage is 12VDC. Sealed, lead-acid, 6-cell battery.
CAUTION! Do not dispose of batteries in a fire. The battery may explode.
CAUTION! A battery can present a risk of electric shock and a high short circuit current. The following precaution should be observed before replacing batteries:

  1. Remove watches, rings, or other metal objects.
  2. Use tools with insulated handles.
  3. Wear rubber gloves and boots.
  4. Do not lay tools or metal parts on top of batteries.
  5. Disconnect charging source prior to connecting or disconnecting batteries terminal

Installation

Connect to Utility and Charging
Plugin the AC input cord to the wall outlet. For the best results, suggest charging the battery at least 6 hours before initial use. The unit charges its battery while connecting to the utility.

Connect the Loads
Simply plug one bulb into the lamp holder on the unit. Then, press “Power switch” on the back panel to turn on the power. If necessary, you may plug other 3 lamp holder cables into output sockets for 3 more bulbs.

Operation

Power On/Off
Once the unit has been properly installed, press the power switch to turn on the unit. The unit will work automatically inline mode or battery mode according to input utility power’s status. After pressing the power switch again, the unit will be turned off.

LED Indicators
There are three indicators (Green/Red/Yellow) on the unit.

Trouble Shooting

Problem Possible Cause Solutions
The unit cannot be turned on during power failure. The battery voltage is too
low. Charge the unit at least 4 hours.
Battery defect. Replace the batteries.
Utility power is normal but the units are in battery mode. AC input power
cord is not connected well. Check AC input power connection.
The input fuse is blown. Replace the input fuse.
The lamp holder is not working. The unit is not turned on. Press the power

switch to turn on the unit.
The power switch for the lamp holder is not turned on.| Turn on the power switch of the lamp holder.
When power fails, the backup
time is shorter.| The unit is overloaded.| Remove some non-critical loads.
The battery voltage is too low.| Charge the unit at least 4 hours.
Battery capacity is not full even after charging the unit for at least 8 hours.| Check the date code of the battery. If the batteries are too old, replace the batteries.
No LED display on the front panel when the utility power is normal.| The battery is not connected well.| Check the external battery cable and terminal. Make sure all the battery connections to the unit areall correct.
Battery defect.| Replace the batteries.
Red LED is flashing for 0.5 seconds every second.| The unit is overloaded.| Remove some non-critical loads and turn on the unit again.

If there is any abnormal situations occur, which doesn’t list above, please call the service people immediately for a professional examination.
