Operation Manual
INTRODUCTION
We congratulate you on choosing the ART PDS8u Power Distribution System. You will find that this unit has been designed for easy use. The latest advances in power technology have been utilized in the design of this unit. Please read all instructions before operating.

The PDS8u protects your delicate electronic equipment with a high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressor. The fast-acting suppression circuit responds in less than a nanosecond, clamping transient voltages to safe levels.
OPERATION
MAXIMUM LOAD
The eight-circuit breaker protected outlets are rated at 15 amps, which is
equivalent to 1800 watts at 120 volts. If the total load on the PDS8u Unit’s
outlets exceed 15 amps, the circuit breaker will trip, cutting off power to
your connected products. If this happens, reduce the load by unplugging one or
more units from the PDS8u DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. Then rock the circuit breaker
switch back to reset it.
USB Charger
USB charging 2Port 5v/3.1/ (over voltage & over current protection). The
charging port is only active when the main power switch for the PDS8u is in
the on position.
POWER SWITCH
The PDS8u DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM has a master POWER switch. This switch glows
when the unit is on.

Warnings
- All operating instructions should be read before using this equipment.
- To prevent the risk of electrical shock, do not remove the cover or the back. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Please refer servicing to a qualified service technician.
- Do not expose this unit to heat sources such as radiators, stoves, or other items that generate excessive heat.
- This unit should be cleaned only with a damp cloth, audio solvents or cleaning detergents. Do not get moisture inside the unit.
- When moving this equipment, it should be placed in its original carton and packing, to reduce the risk of damage in transit.
WARRANTY AND SERVICE INFORMATION
Limited Warranty
Applied Research and Technology will provide warranty service for this unit in
accordance with the following warranty statement:
Applied Research and Technology (A R T) warrants to the original purchaser
that this product is free from defects in workmanship and materials for a
period of three year from the date of purchase. A R T will, without charge,
repair or replace, at its option, defective product or component parts upon
prepaid delivery to the factory service department or an authorized service
center, accompanied by proof of purchase date in the form of a valid sales
receipt.
EXCLUSIONS: This warranty does not apply in the event of misuse or abuse of the product or as a result of unauthorized alterations or repairs. This warranty is void if the serial number is altered, defaced or removed.
A R T reserves the right to make changes in design and make additions or improvements upon this product without any obligation to install the same on products previously manufactured.
A R T should not be liable for any consequential damages, including without limitation, damages resulting from the loss of use. Some states do not allow limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights and you may also have other rights, which vary, from state to state.
For products purchased outside the United States, service will be provided by an authorized distributor of Applied Research and Technology products.
SERVICE
The following information is provided in the unlikely event that your unit
requires service.
- Be sure that the unit is the cause of the problem. Check to make sure the unit has power, all cables are connected correctly, and the cables themselves are in working condition. You may want to consult with your dealer for assistance in troubleshooting or testing your particular configuration.
- If you believe the ART unit is at fault, go to www.artproaudio.com. You may contact Customer Service for more assistance, or directly request a Return Authorization for service in the “resources” area of the website.
- If you are returning the unit for service, pack the unit in its original carton or a reasonable substitute. The original packaging may not be suitable as a shipping carton, so consider putting the packaged unit in another box for shipping. Print the RA number clearly on the outside of the shipping box.
- Include, with your unit, a note with the RA number and your contact information including a daytime phone number, preferably attached to the top of the unit.
