PROCARE® THUMB SPLINT
BEFORE USING THE DEVICE, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. CORRECT APPLICATION IS VITAL TO THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
INTENDED USER PROFILE:
The intended use should be a licensed medical professional, the patient, or the patient’s caregiver. The user should be able to read, understand and be physically capable of performing the directions, warnings, and cautions in the information for use.
INTENDED USE/INDICATIONS:
Thumb sprains or strains. Hyperextension, arthritis of the first carpal metacarpal (Basal Joint Arthritis), and thumb tendonitis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Phlebitis patients should not wear neoprene products.
WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS:
- If you have skin disorders/injuries in the relevant part of the body, the product should be fitted and worn only after consultation with a medical professional.
- Neoprene supports should not be worn by individuals with known susceptibility to dermatitis or allergies to neoprene products.
- If you experience any pain, swelling, sensation changes, or any unusual reactions while using this product, consult your medical professional immediately.
- Never wear the support over an open wound.
- Do not use this device if it was damaged and/or the packaging has been opened.
APPLICATION INFORMATION:
- Place the thumb in the support.
- Using the contact closure on one side of the wrist support, wrap and secure the wrist wrap.
- Secure thumb wrap.
- Radial, palmar, and dorsal stay pockets contain a malleable aluminum stay and a spiral stay which can be removed for desired support.
NOTE: Wrist and thumb strap may be trimmed as needed
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
Hand wash in warm water using mild soap, rinse thoroughly. AIR DRY.
NOTE: If not rinsed thoroughly, residual soap may cause irritation and
deteriorate the material.
WARRANTY:
DJO, LLC will repair or replace all or part of the unit and its accessories
for material or workmanship defects for a period of six months from the date
of sale.
To the extent the terms of this warranty are inconsistent with local
regulations, the provisions of such local regulations will apply.
