SAFETY & WARNINGS

All types of training have some inherent dangers, as do all physical activities. The chance of injury can be greatly reduced or completely removed by using correct lifting techniques, proper breathing, maintaining equipment in good working condition, and by wearing the appropriate clothing.
For your safety, ensure to read all warnings and instructions in this user guide prior to first use. Retain this user guide for future reference.

  • This equipment is not a toy. To avoid injury, keep away from children.

  • Images shown in this user guide are for reference only and may differ from the final product.

  • Do not lift and move the weight adjusting the pin when in use to prevent plates from falling off and causing potential injury.

  • Do not drop the dumbbell onto the base.

  • Before beginning any type of exercise program, it is recommended that you first consult with your physician.

  • It is essential to warm up prior to any exercise routine, this will help prepare your body for the rigors ahead by increasing the blood flow, which in turn increases the muscle core temperature. A warm muscle is more supple and less likely to get hurt.

  • Proper execution of exercise techniques is essential for your safety and progress. Focus on only working the muscle groups intended for the exercise you are doing. If there is strain elsewhere, you may need to re-evaluate the amount of weight that is involved with the lift. Keeping proper form also includes maintaining control through an entire range of motion.

  • It is a natural tendency to hold your breath during the execution of moderate to heavy lifts. It results in an increase in blood pressure and carbon dioxide. This in turn may cause dizziness or fainting. Generally, you should exhale as you work against
resistance & inhale as you release.

  • If you experience any pain or discomfort while exercising, lessen the weights and/or your repetitions. If the pain persists, cease exercise immediately. If the pain remains after resting, see a doctor.

  • Always wear the appropriate clothing and shoes when exercising. Wearing comfortable athletic shoes with good support and loose-fitting, breathable clothing will reduce the risk of injury.

  • Do not attempt to lift more weight than you can control safely.

  • Maintaining equipment in proper operating conditions is of utmost importance for a safe training program.

  • Inspect the dumbbell regularly for damaged, loosened, or worn parts. If a problem is found do not use the dumbbell until all parts are tightened. For worn or damaged parts, contact help.Kogan.com for assistance.
