APC AP7721 Rack Automatic Transfer Switch
Product Information
- The product in question is a Rack Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) manufactured by APC. There are two models mentioned in the user manual: AP7721 and AP7723. The ATS is designed for use with a 208 Vac power supply. It is important to note that the power cord is not provided with the unit.
- For the AP7721 model, a UL Listed, CSA-certified power cord rated 300 Vac, 15 A, 14 AWG should be used. For the AP7723 model, a UL Listed, CSA-certified power cord rated 300 Vac, 20 A, 12 AWG should be used. Both power cords must be used with an approved plug and outlet. The maximum length of the power supply cord should not exceed 4.5 m, while the minimum length should be 1.5 m unless it is intended for a special installation.
- The default settings of the Rack ATS are 230 Vac nominal voltage and a default transfer range set to medium. However, when using the Rack ATS in a 208-Vac application, it is necessary to change the nominal voltage setting to 208 Vac to prevent damage. If the nominal voltage is not reset, the Rack ATS will switch between power source A and power source B when the load drops below 207 Vac.
