BT05 is a wireless long-range Bluetooth 5.0 Transmitter, Receiver, and Bypass (direct cable connection) 3-in-1 Device. A multifunctional device with optical input supporting wired and Bluetooth output simultaneously (bypass mode). RX Installation
How to use?

Step 1: Connect DC in: Connect the AC power adapter (no include, recommend using a separate 5V/1A or 5V/2A phone’s AC adapter.) to DC In socket via the Type C cable, and BT05 turn on.
Step 2: Connect output device: Use 3.5mm audio cable to connect the “RX AUX” output port or use optical cable to connect the “RX OPTICAL” output port to your amplifier/car speakers/headset, etc.
Step 3: Switch receiver mode: Long press [M] 2 seconds to switch receiver mode, RX light flashing.
Step 4: Switch output method: Long press [ ] 2 seconds to switch optical/aux output, OPT/AUX light on.
Step 5: Pair Bluetooth device A: Short press button A to pair for Bluetooth device, the RX LED will flash quickly to enter the pairing mode.
Step 6: Connect BT05 device: Turn on your device’s Bluetooth, searching “Fosi Audio BT05” and connecting. After the connection is complete, the “A” indicator stays on.
Step 7: Now enjoy it!

Pair a second Bluetooth device:

Step 8: Pair Bluetooth device B: After Bluetooth device A connected, short press button B to pair for Bluetooth device, the RX LED will flash quickly to enter the pairing mode.
Step 9: Connect BT05 device: Turn on your device’s Bluetooth, searching “Fosi Audio BT05” and connecting. After the connection is complete, the “B” indicator stays on.
Step 10: Now enjoy it!

NOTE:

  1. The password is “0000” if your phone requires it.
  2. Please ensure that the devices are within 1 meter/3.28 ft of each other when pairing.
  3. If you can’t pair the BT05 for a long time, please long press A or B button 8 seconds to clear Bluetooth pairing history.
  4. Automatically reconnect: After restarting BT05, device will automatically searching for Bluetooth devices that have been paired, the RX light will flash slowly and the new device will not be able to search for the BT05: “Fosi Audio BT05”.
    If you need to connect to a new Bluetooth device, please short press the A button to enter Bluetooth pairing mode, then the RX light will flash fast and the new device will be able to search BT05: “Fosi Audio BT05”.

How to use?

Step 1: Connect DC in: Connect the AC power adapter (no include, recommend using a 5V/1A or 5V/2A phone’s AC adapter.) to DC In socket via the Type C cable, and BT05 turn on.
Step 2: Connect input device: Use 3.5mm audio cable to connect the “TX AUX” input port or use optical cable to connect the “TX OPTICAL” input port from your phone/TV/CD Player, etc.
Step 3: Switch Transmitter mode: Long press [M] 2 seconds to switch transmitter mode, TX light on.
Step 4: Switch input method: Long press [ ] 2 seconds to switch optical/aux input, OPT/AUX light on.
Step 5: Pair Bluetooth device A: Short press button A to pair for Bluetooth device, the TX LED will flash quickly to enter the pairing mode.
Step 6: Connect BT05 device: Turn on your device’s Bluetooth and enter pairing mode, BT05 automatically connect to your Bluetooth device. After the connection is complete, the “A” indicator stays on.
Step 7: Now enjoy it!

Pair a second Bluetooth device:

Step 8: Pair Bluetooth device B: After Bluetooth device A connected, short press button B to pair for Bluetooth device, the TX LED will flash quickly to enter the pairing mode.
Step 9: Connect BT05 device: Turn on your device’s Bluetooth and enter pairing mode, BT05 automatically connect to your Bluetooth device. After the connection is complete, the “B” indicator stays on.
Step 10: Now enjoy it!

NOTE:

  1. Please ensure the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker does not need the pairing password.
  2. Please ensure the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode. Otherwise, the BT05 will not be able to connect to the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker.

Bypass Mode

Use the BYPASS function if your TV only has ONE OPTICAL/AUX Output which is currently occupied by your AV receiver or soundbar. Toggle between BYPASS and Bluetooth mode using a simple switch, no need to unplug any cable. In Bypass mode, BT05 can be used as a decoder to convert audio between 3.5mm AUX and optical output.

How to use?

Step 1: Connect DC in: Connect the AC power adapter (no include, recommend using a 5V/1A or 5V/2A phone’s AC adapter.) to DC In socket via the Type C cable, and BT05 turn on.
Step 2: Connect input & output: Use 3.5mm audio cable to connect the “TX AUX” or use optical cable to connect the “TX OPTICAL” as input, use another 3.5mm audio cable to connect the “RX AUX” or use optical cable to connect the “RX OPTICAL” as output.
Step 3: Switch Bypass mode: Long press [M] 2 seconds to switch transmitter mode, Bypass light on.
Step 4: Switch Bypass channel: Long press [ ] 2 seconds to switch Bypass channel. Please read the following table to select the Bypass channel.

Automatically Reconnect Paired Devices
  • When BT05 restarting after the first pairing, BT05 will automatically searching for Bluetooth devices that have been paired. The RX/TX light flash slowly.
  • Short press A or B button will end the automatically reconnect and enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The RX/TX light flash fast.
  • If it is not connected any device within 30 minutes, BT05 will automatically shut down.
Clear Bluetooth Pairing History
  • Long press A or B button for 8 seconds until the TX or RX stop flashing and stay on for two seconds (at this time other indicators will all shut down), the device will clear the historical paired Bluetooth devices and re-enter the pairing mode.

NOTE:

  1. Please use a Type-c cable to connect a DC5V power adapter (no include) to power the product;
  2. The Bluetooth signal will be blocked and absorbed by surrounding objects. Try to keep the Bluetooth device free from obstruction during use to ensure better sound quality.

Q&A

1. I can’t pair the BT05 with my Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker in transmitter mode.

  • Please ensure the BT05 switch to transmitter mode.

  • Please ensure the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker does not require a pairing password.

  • Please ensure the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker is in pairing mode and not connected to another device.

  • Please ensure the “A” and “B” indicators are not lighting at the same time. If the “A” and “B” indicators are lighting at the same time, long press A or B button for 2 seconds to disconnect the paired Bluetooth device, and then connect the new Bluetooth device.

  • The first time you pair, make sure the pairing distance is within 3feet/1meter.

  • Please ensure that the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker has sufficient power and is in pairing condition. If the above tips don’t help, set the BT05 and the Bluetooth headset or speaker to factory default settings.

  • After the BT05 turn on, it will automatically start searching for devices that have been paired, the TX light will flash slowly and the new device will not be able to search for the BT05: “Fosi Audio BT05”.
    If you need to connect to a new Bluetooth device, please short press the A or B button to enter Bluetooth pairing mode, then the TX light will flash fast and the new device will be able to search BT05: “Fosi Audio BT05”.

  • Long press A or B button for 8 seconds to clear Bluetooth pairing history, then pair Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker again.

2. Get static noise under TX mode.

  • Please use a separate or replacement 5V AC power adapter to avoid signal interference.

3. There is no sound streaming under Bypass mode.

Bypass has 4 different modes (long press the [ ] button 2 seconds to select the correct audio cable connection).

  • Aux 3.5mm In / Aux 3.5mm Out: only AUX lights on.
  • Optical Input / Optical Output: only OPT lights on.
  • Aux 3.5mm In / Optical Out: AUX, OPT and RX optical socket lights on.
  • Optical In / Aux 3.5mm Out: AUX and OPT lights on, RX optical socket lights off.

4. Volume button not working.

  • In RX mode, long press [+] to increase the volume, long press [-] to decrease the volume; short press [+] to switch to the next song, short press [-] to switch to the previous song.
  • In TX and Bypass modes only works to adjust the volume.

5. Can it be connected automatically? I don’t always want to press the button twice.

  • Yes. After the first pairing and BT05 restarting, BT05 will automatically searching for Bluetooth devices that have been paired.

6. Can I use 2 Bluetooth headsets/devices at the same time? For example, when watching TV with two Bluetooth headsets?

  • Yes. The BT05 can connect two Bluetooth headsets at the same time, please follow the quick setup in transmitter mode strictly for two Bluetooth headsets pairing, please pair the two Bluetooth devices in order.

7. Can it transmit and receive at the same time?

  • No, you can only be in transmitter mode or receiver mode, or bypass mode.

8. Why does the “APTX”, “LL” and “HD” of the device not lighting up? ·

  • Please ensure that your Bluetooth device supports aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD audio or that the Bluetooth device aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD functions is turned on. Otherwise, you will not be able to use the features and “APTX”, “LL”, “HD” will not light up. Please consult the supplier of this Bluetooth device for more support.

9. Can’t get higher aptX audio (aptX-LL/aptX-HD) when connecting two Bluetooth devices and the devices themselves support it?

  • Please ensure that both Bluetooth devices support aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD audio, otherwise the 2 Bluetooth devices output will be output with the lowest audio type. For example, if device A support SBC but not aptX, and device B supports aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD, then the 2 devices will output SBC audio.

10. What’s the function of the LL/HD button on the rear panel?

  • If your Bluetooth device supports both aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD audio, you can switch between audio formats by long press the LL/HD button. The aptX-LL for low latency audio and the aptX-HD for high definition audio.

11. Why does the LL/HD button of my BT05 not work?

  • Some Bluetooth devices support aptX but not aptX-LL and aptX-HD, You cannot switch the audio type to aptX-LL or aptX-HD, so the LL/HD button will not work.
  • Please check if your Bluetooth device supports aptX/aptX-LL/aptX-HD audio, or consult the supplier of this Bluetooth device for more support.

12. Can it be used as a converter from optical input to RCA output?

  • Yes, you can switch to bypass mode to convert the optical input to the aux/3.5mm output and use an additional 3.5mm to RCA cable for your purposes.

13. No sound playback from Bluetooth headsets/Bluetooth speaker in optical input mode on TV or other devices?

  • Please ensure the BT05 is in transmitter mode.
  • Please ensure the optical cable connect to BT05’s TX OPTICAL interface.
  • Please ensure that the TV or other devices are turned off Dolby or DTS sound etc., BT05 does not support Dolby or DTS sound, please select RAW/PCM sound.
  • Please check if the Bluetooth headset or Bluetooth speaker is muted.
  • Please check if BT05 is muted by mistakenly touching the power button.
  • Please press and hold the volume button [+] to increase the volume.
  • Please disconnect all Bluetooth connections and repair the Bluetooth device to test if there is sound output.

14. No sound playback on 3.5mm RX AUX output in receiver mode?

  • Please ensure the BT05 output mode is set to AUX and not Optical.
  • Please ensure not to use a microphone headset or other microphone device.
  • Please check whether BT05 is muted or the output volume is too low, please raise the volume.

15. Unable to search the Bluetooth name: “Fosi Audio BT05” of BT05 device?

  • Please make sure BT05 is not in automatically reconnect state, automatically reconnect state will not be able to search BT05 with new devices.
  • Please short press A or B button to enter pairing mode, the new device will be able to search for the Bluetooth name: “Fosi Audio BT05”.

16. What AC power adapter does the BT05 use?

  • Recommend using a 5V/1A or 5V/2A phone’s AC adapter, it is also
    possible to use the PC-USB port for power, but this may cause interference.
